I have only taken 2 and while it does help with the pain, I am starting to have some signs of anxiety again. Anyone have any thoughts???
Avatar n tn neck muscle pain like it hurts for me to talk.. pain in my mid back.. muscle and bone pain.. i feel so horrible are these withdrawl symptoms?
Avatar f tn I've been on Zoloft for five years 100 mgs now on 50 mgs and trying Lexapro . Past two weks my anxiety has tripled so my doc put me on cymbalta. Will Cymbalta increase my anxiety like the Lexapro I hear they are similiar? Are there any odd side effects. Doc is starting me on 30 mgs.
Avatar n tn After reading these posts and I am starting to put two and two together and they are definitely looking like they are adding up to weight gain from Lexapro. I started on Lexapro in early July. I weighed in at about 178 at that time - 5'9 and worked out almost every day. While I was experiencing the start up side effects from Lexapro (about 4 weeks) I didnt work out but didnt gain any weight during that time. Anyway long story short - in the last month to 6 weeks I have put on about 12 lbs.
Avatar f tn m also having involuntary movements at one finger in both hands, muscle spams in throath and chest that give me difficulty to inhale and causes intense pain. My ESR is high and CRP result is positive. Negative for ANA, RF, and uric acid. Next June I have an appointment with a rheumathologist. Actually I am on lyrica 75mg bid, neurontin 400mg, Lexapro 10mg and klonopin 0.5mg. Sometimes the pain is horrible and nothing helps. I don't know what I have.
Avatar f tn neck muscle pain like it hurts for me to talk.. pain in my mid back.. muscle and bone pain.. i feel so horrible are these withdrawl symptoms? i also get stomach cramps and pain .. naseau... the worst is my head presure and neck pains!! did you feel this way.. will this go away in time? im scared!
Avatar f tn I am just very anxious over these new happenings in my health and another doctor thought the Lexapro might help. I was actually having chest pains too, and now the chest pains have disappeared and the PVC's are not as often since I started them. They are helping me cope - not as stressed. I really was not depressed so much I don't think, but I was about to climb the wall. This makes me so nervous.
Avatar n tn neck muscle pain like it hurts for me to even talk.. pain in my mid back.. muscle and bone pain in my back (feels like i can only hunch over and i still have extreme pain).. i feel like im gonna die! i get chest pains still real bad..i just feel so horrible are these withdrawl symptoms?
535882 tn?1396576685 I love Lexapro...have been on it for years...strayed once to try Cymbalta which made me suicidal. I'm 39 and will never stop taking lexapro again. I take 10 mg in spring, summer and fall and 20 in winter for Seasonal Affective Disorder. I sometimes supplement with Ativan to help me during really bad anxiety attacks.
Avatar f tn Your doctor prescribed buspar AND Lexapro? *** Buspar and Lexapro should NOT be taken at same time because they can cause a rare but serious side effect of serotonin syndrome. You don't want that. So, you were right to never take all these meds together and am not sure who is prescribing them with any suggestion that there is overlap in your using them. I would not take buspar until you've spoken to your doctor. Ask them WHEN you can feel all Lexapro is washed out of your system.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I started taking lexapro 3 weeks ago. lately I have had times when i start shaking, mainly when i wake up and i'm still in bed. I know it says muscle tremors are possible but do i need to call my doctor? I'm concious the whole time so i know it's not a seizure. it feels like really bad cold chills and it only lasts a few seconds but it is happening more often, everytime i wake up. any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I have been on Lexapro for 3 weeks and the last week I have been experiencing muscle spasms and twitches (whatever they are called). It does not hurt but it is really annoying, they are all over my body from my toes to my face. I hope it is the medication doing it......Has anyone else heard of antidepressants causing muscle twitches as a side effect?
Avatar n tn They have muscle cramps as a common reaction. I got it from both imipramine and Paxil and now from Lexapro. A simple solution to try, which works pretty well for me, is to increase your intake of magnesium -- I take a 2:1 magnesium to calcium formula, or a 1:1, depending on how bad it is (the normal supplement would be 2:1 calcium to magnesium). Before doing that they used to wake me in the middle of the night.
Avatar n tn I saw my GP on Friday and she noticed lots of muscle tension in my left shoulder and arm. She gave me Lexapro to take instead of Xanax for three weeks and had me schedule follow up bloodwork to check my cholesterol. Over this weekend, the Lexapro seems to have given me greater peace of mind and my chest area feels perfectly normal. However, the left side weakness / numbness has become more of a 'tightness' and is more evident.
660007 tn?1234065741 Also, because of my back pain, i occasionally take muscle relaxers and things like that. Part of my goal is to see how these medicines can effect my mood. Is there a way to manually input these medications?
Avatar n tn I was taking lexapro and felt it was doing fairly well. Recently I had surgery and this doctor changed the lexapro to a paxil and buspar. At first I felt fine but now three weeks of the new meds and I am tired all of the time and very down. I have a medical condition that I have to take several meds for ex: fentora, oxyliquid, fentanel patch. perscribed through a pain management doctor. There is not much follow up with the new medicine and I wonder if all of this is good.
591884 tn?1234201709 ve played competitive soccer my whole life) and that the muscle and joint pain could just now really be catching up to me. So, it seems that the cramping sensations are NOT being caused by the Lexapro, which is what I figured would be the case. My physician did suggest that I try taking Aleve to relieve some of the pain since it works for 12 hours. And I completely understand how you feel. The physical symptoms are driving me crazy, too! Hang in there.
Avatar m tn I took Lexapro for a while a few years ago but now my insurance won't cover it. At the time, there were sexual side effects too. Now my insurance covers Celexa. I tried Celexa and it was definitely not a good thing, threw me hypomanic/manic. If I could, I would take the Lexapro again and just take the medicine for the side effects (which are covered by my insurance!). I don't remember any weight gain on Lexapro either.
1166402 tn?1303847056 I've looked up muscle pain and Celexa but could not find any info. I would like to know more about this so I can talk to my doc. I was starting to think I might have Fibromyalgia. But all the symptoms aren't there. Can I still feel all this (and some twiching-not much though) even when I feel normal. I had forgotten I had anxiety and then felt a twitch or was reminded by muscle pains and then off I go thinking about it all.
Avatar m tn Happened to me with it, happens to many who take it. During the time I was on Lexapro I started taking 3 showers a day, and often had to get up and shower so I could go back to sleep. However, the prohibition of 5-HTP does apply when you take an SSRI -- you shouldn't take both. 5-HTP can also cause night sweats in some people, though probably fewer than Lexapro. I am wondering why you would take it after your doc correctly told you not to, but that's another issue.
Avatar f tn If your stomach pain continues you should contact your doctor. Tell him or her that you are having stomach pain and nausea. Nausea and stomach pain are common side effect of Lexapro, if it continues then Lexapro is not right for you. You should have received package insert or paper from your pharmacy with your meds that tell you how to use the medicine, cautions, description of the drug. Side effects are list under cautions.
Avatar n tn When I was on the 2mg dose, things seemed to be ok. When I went up to 5mg, I had tremendous leg pain and muscle stiffness. When I went down to 2mg again the leg problems went away. Then my doctor decided to switch me to Seroquel. I gradually increased my dosage up to 100 mg. At that point, my leg troubles began again. Unfortunately, they never ended. I got off the Seroquel and the leg pain persisted. It's bad in the morning. My right hamstring is always stiff.
Avatar f tn I normally have gas and I belch often but I've never been diagnosed with any digestive problems. I have generalized anxiety and I take Lexapro daily. For about a week I've had a weird feeling in my lower ribs and stomach muscles. It's almost like a fluttering or spasm. I can't tell if it's gas or muscular. It's not painful just uncomfortable and it's making me more anxious. I've taken gas relief tabs and advil but they don't help.
Avatar n tn My sister is here with me unable to sleep for three weeks now since stopping lexapro. she has severe back pain and is on oxytocin 120 twice daily and has been for years. she is beside herself with insomnia and just recently has started having nightmares really vividly almost immediately on getting to sleep. she no longer feels safe in her home so i think her paranioa levels are way up. any advice out there - could this be caused by the withdrawal from the lexapro??
