lexapro and jaw pain

hey all just wanted to hear some experience about "jaw clenching" with taking lexapro. Been on it for a month at 15mg and the only real side affect im having is jaw clenching. was wondering if this will be less with time?

Blood pressure has been stable since Feb. 3rd due to increase dosage of Enalipril. On Jan. 15th, my doctor gave me Lexapro and new problems started. I took 10mg for the first 6 days then went to 5mg/day until Feb. 3rd. The reason for the change was because of severe side effects. Dizziness, tremors, jaw pain, loud ringing in ears, nausea were the main issues. Now being off the med for 13 days, and have been off of work since Feb. 3rd, I continue to have problems.

I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.

I’ve been doing stretches everyday and facial pressure points and different jaw alignment methods. Occasionally my arms and hands and legs will pulse after swallowing very hard.

It works great for me with absolutely no side effects. My sister takes lexapro and swears by it but changed to paxil because Lexapro is so expensive and paxil is 4 dollars at walmart. Drink a lot of fluids to keep flushing your system is about all you can do. Sorry I do not have more to offer.

hi all... i have been on lexapro for 3 years and i have been having sinus headaches for quite a while, although i wasnt really aware of this earlier. i thought my headaches were only due to stress. my headaches are partly with stress and anxiety, but of late i have found that i have one sided headaches for no apparent reason. i just wake up with a heavy one side headache at times, can feel heaviness in the forehead area and nose... went to see a doc who has been treating me for it...

What's your dosage on Lexapro? I took Lexapro for a long time, and never experienced that. However, I do clench my teeth at night in bed... and I've done that for the longest I can remember. It's not enough for me to have TMJ, but it does leave my jaw soar sometimes. My Dr. said it's just my anxiety causing me to tense up like that. Good luck figuring it out.

No jaw pain...but I do see a tiny black floating speck in my right eye that showed up around the same time as the other symptoms. I'm only 27 and I feel like I'm falling apart. My husband says he thinks the dizziness is from Lexapro withdrawls. So I'm going to google that right now. I've been suffering headaches everyday for about a year now.

And about the jaw clenching -- I was put on Lexapro a couple of years ago and have had this weird ear fullness that started some months ago. I finally saw an ENT, who said it was from jaw clenching. Is this from the Lexapro?

Interesting jaw clenching from Lexapro, I am also on Lexapro. I thought I clenched my jaw because I was stressed and anxious. Perhaps I am dealing with a little of both, the ENT Dr. told me I has tinnitus, but that there is nothing I can do about it, there are some herbal supplements that I can take I guess. s - then blood pressure started to go up a little. Went off imipramine and doctor put me on lexapro - now have gained a little weight, am tired, clenching jaw at night, blood pressure back down, but pulse is constantly in the 50's which is freaking me out a little. Have been on lexapro for 6 months now - libido gone also....thinking about weaning off the lexapro and taking nothing or going back to the imipramine. Has anyone else experienced the low heart rate while on it?

i take lexapro,and i was coming off the prozac, but before that paxil,and i started 20mg and i had no symptoms or anything. but im still feeling like i need an increase.

I woke up two weeks after starting escitalopram and felt like I had been beaten in the jaw with a bat. Many hundreds of dollars later, MRI, pain meds, muscle relaxers, and arthrocentisis on both sides, I am now off escitalopram. I will never use it again. I was way more suicidal with chronic TMD than with regular old mood disorder!

Well, just about a week ago or more, one day I yawned and I got a sharp pain on the sides of my head. Hurt like hell, but for only a second... as I closed my mouth after yawning... It has seemed to gotten better.... but now, it's only on my left side of my face/jaw. When I move my jaw from side to side it hurts near my ear. Almost as if felt like an ear infection... but I've never had an ear infection so I couldnt tell you what one really feels like. lol.

I also take welbutrin and lexapro for anxiety and depression. I take metoporol and isosorbide for chest pain associated with myocardial bridge. Wed. I started getting discomfort in my chest and it got worse, so i started to drive myself to the hospital because it was radiating to my jaw , i got about 5 min. out and the pain was getting intense. i felt lightheaded, short of breath and like i had something in my chest expanding.

I was taking lexapro and felt it was doing fairly well. Recently I had surgery and this doctor changed the lexapro to a paxil and buspar. At first I felt fine but now three weeks of the new meds and I am tired all of the time and very down. I have a medical condition that I have to take several meds for ex: fentora, oxyliquid, fentanel patch. perscribed through a pain management doctor. There is not much follow up with the new medicine and I wonder if all of this is good.

By cardiac pain I am referring to left sided chest pain, left arm pain, left neck, jaw, back pain. No other pains anywhere else in body.

I had this problem when I took Effexor. I also had severe jaw pain and ear aches that would literally make me sit and cry. Once I stopped the Effexor those symptoms went away. You just never know for sure what kind of side effects your going to get from any med. Take care.

I have frequent jaw pain, jaw numness and jaw that crack when I chew on something at some point. I saw a dentist lately and he told me that everithing is normal with my teeth an jaw on the x-ray. I also have pain in my ears due to that! My best guess whould be that it is a Chiari symptome.

If your stomach pain continues you should contact your doctor. Tell him or her that you are having stomach pain and nausea. Nausea and stomach pain are common side effect of Lexapro, if it continues then Lexapro is not right for you. You should have received package insert or paper from your pharmacy with your meds that tell you how to use the medicine, cautions, description of the drug. Side effects are list under cautions.

My sister is here with me unable to sleep for three weeks now since stopping lexapro. she has severe back pain and is on oxytocin 120 twice daily and has been for years. she is beside herself with insomnia and just recently has started having nightmares really vividly almost immediately on getting to sleep. she no longer feels safe in her home so i think her paranioa levels are way up. any advice out there - could this be caused by the withdrawal from the lexapro??

Since early hours this morning ive had really bad Tooth and jaw pain then the pain went to the bottom of my jaw and the top of my head then it stopped then I had a bad jaw and earache then that stopped then I had a pain on the top bit of my nose to my head and so on, I got told that jaw pain in pregnancy but ive never met anyone who has had It, is this Normal it not becuse im in alot of pain and paracetamol never works!!

Thats not the problem. My jaw hurts and so does my throat. He did a full exam, and everything is ok. What is going on???

i do dwell on my neck stiffness and head pain... all day.. and am constantly moving my jaw side to side up and down just to wait and feel when it hurts... where it hurts etc. could anxiety be causing this? im gonna get back on the lexapro today... it has always seemed to help with anxiety for sure. ive been on it twice in my life... When people refer to jaw pain and heart attack where on the jaw is this referring to. Is it lower jaw or up near the cheek on the upper jaw. Is the pain intense or throbbing.
