Is it OK to use phentermine and levothyroxine together? If not what diet medications are safe to use with levothyroxine? I suffer with such low energy, even though my levels are good.

Will I see any boost in my metabolism soon? I have been trying to lose weight, and can only seem to take of pounds (5 in 9 months) by doing excessive cardio (2 hours per day). I am eating between 1500-2000 calories per day and sleeping a lot, like 9 hours every night. Is there any hope or piece of mind for me?
But this week my weight started shooting up again my stomach is bloated and I am getting headaches and feeling very dizzy . I checked my blood pressure in cvs and it came to 140/100 which i understand is stage 1 hypertension. I haven't had hypertension before. Is his bcoz of levothyroxine ? I have my next appointment only in June. Will it be advisable to check with my doctor before that.
05mg of levothyroxine to start with. i have read about alot of side affects and am worried about the hair loss and weight gain the most. anyone on this medication and can give me some feedback that would be great. i am already overweight, at 170 now i have gained almost 40 lbs in 4 years. my left eye is also larger than my right, she said it will get better with time. somehow i have a hard time believing that, it has been this way since last september.

Dr put me on 125mcg of levo. Within a month. Ive lost all gained weight and started feeling normal. And, about 4 months later. Ive started gaining wt with same symptoms i had before being dx. There is no change in diet or activities. Beside wt gain.. this severe bloated feeling in my stomach. It is so bloated that my skin hurts (from inflammation?). Feel like i cant breath, depressed and at times, i feel like want to rip my skins out. After many lab tests and adj. In dose in levo.

Since you are taking levothyroxine, and not being tested for Free T3 and Free T4, I suggest that your first step should be to get that testing done, in order to find out your actual levels. If the doctor resists, just insist on it and don't take no for an answer. It is that important.
Since hypo patients are also frequently too low in the ranges for Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin, I suggest getting those tested as well.
This is subclinical hypothyroidism and based on symptoms, a trial of levothyroxine therapy should be offered. The nodule would require ultrasound and possible biopsy for further evaluation.
I have another question regarding Levothyroxine. I've been on it for 5 weeks now and for the most part the only positive difference I've noticed is having more energy.
The cons of things I've been feeling are muscle pains, menstrual cycle changes and digestion. Can Levothyroxine cause constipation or mess up your digestion in any way? I've been having a lot of abdominal pain for the past week and my stomach is just gurgling really loudly when I eat.
Do I take Levothyroxine when my TSH is 0.66, total T4 is 5.6 and T3 uptake is 33.4%? I think I might be hyperthyroid, not hypothyroid. I have to take metoclopramide for stomach dilation and I take Diazapam plus other meds on the very long list of containdicated medications. Does anyone know?
I have an overacting thyroids and was given 25mcg levothyroxine today 1/15/2013 now I asked about weight gain and was given a" oh know you will have weight loss " is this no true??
My dog has had hypothyroidism for several years and has been on 0.2 mg of Levothyroxine twice daily ever since. Recently, when they did a check on his T4 they found that it was low and they increased it immediately to 0.4 mg.
A week or two later he began to significantly pant and wheeze. Then he decided to give him 150 mg of Theophylline twice daily. Could the thyroid dose change have caused these symptoms or is it a coincidence?

I need some help to understand the medication prescribed to my mother due to her high cholesterol (for last 2 years).

Are you using BMI suggest you are "almost there"? If so, I think you might rethink that given your activity level. It is a less accurate measure for athletes. As far as losing weight, it really all comes down to calories in and calories out.
