I'm currently on birth control pills (Ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) and i'm overweight so i'm planning on taking Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen. Will Hydroxycut affect the effectiveness of my bcp?
The pill in question is Maxim (ethinyl estradiol 0.03mg and 2mg dienogest). For the first month it was OK, no side effects other then some loss of libido. After talking with doc about it he changed it to another one with levonorgestrel instead of dienogest.
After 2 days of taking it I started experiencing extreme thirst, anxiety, palpitations, minor blood sugar rise and hard to sleep (since thirst was waking me up several times).
An hour later, I took the 72-hour emergency contraceptive levonorgestrel, two tablets of 0.75 mg. Is my girlfriend more likely to get pregnant? Sorry, my English is not very good.
I have been researching the cardiovascular effects of birth control and saw that it can raise c-reactive protein levels. How clinically significant is this? I know crp is a measure of inflammation in the body. So is increasing it's level going to actually cause inflammation? Or is it simply upregulated, and if so what are the consequences of that? I recently switched for alesse which has levonorgestrel. I read this progestin has the worst effect on cholesterol levels.

In my case, it in no way affected my libido. AVRT like Wolff Parkinson White is an electrical condition, and should not affect libido. I would look atnthe medication used to control the tachycardia. They can and often do supress the libido. How deep of an investigation have you done on your condition?
I have now been taking 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about three months, and have noticed no imprvement. If anything, my libido has diminished even more.
Since most people report a boost in sex drive with the Wellbutrin, I was wondering if I am just an atypical case, or if perhaps my dosage is not high enough to experience the improvement.

While I understand that there is always a risk of DVT, depression or stroke when taking contraceptive pills, I was thinking, there are other brand of pills which contains more or less the same hormones ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. So should I be concerned? I have been on other brand of pills in the past which contained ethinylestradiol and norethisterone and I was fine with it.
m really alarmed and how my libido has dropped so much during the past six months. I eat healthy and practice yoga 3-5 times a week, but the only time I think about sex is when my man lets me know how horny he is. No, I think they may be too high because of the recent cystic acne and increased libido that I've been experiencing. An increased libido may sound like a blessing but it's not... I can't think about anything else and just keep falling further and further behind in my work.
