Hi, stuffy head, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat are the symptoms of common cold due to infection or allergic rhinitis. Some viruses causing infection are rhinovirus, influenza, adenovirus, echovirus etc.
Infection is transmitted through inhaling droplets and touching infected areas. Sinusitis has symptoms like feeling pressure on forehead, sinus drainage, fatigue, poor sense to smell and taste, bad breath, sore throat, ear pain etc.

Will Levocetirizine affect the outcome of the test in any way?

Hydoxyzine worked wonders for me (once I got a high enough dose). I take 25 - 50 mg. every 6 hours. I had a bad rash all over my body except my face and buttocks and it stopped the itching and is clearing the rash.
I wish they would have started it in Dec,. but it seems with these side effects we are all re-inventing the wheel. The docs seem clueless.
Hi I have suffered with Rhinitis for years, but it has got to a really bad stage, Post Nasal Drip is causing me a nightmare, coughing, but worst is the chestiness and coughing up of phlegm, I am currently on Flixonaise spray, Montelukast Soduim Tablets, Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablets, Alvesco Inhaler Ciclesonide and now just been prescribed a Ventolin Inhlaler. Went to my GP again last week who prescribed a course of Amoxicill 500 mg for a week, these have made me fell far worse.
I am 28 years old ,since 10-12 years I am sufferring from Rhinitis accompanied with sneezing,itchy eyes,heaviness of head.Blood report percentage of eosinophils is 12%.I also have a frequent heart burn & acidity,bad breath.
In the last ten years I feel that I am loosing my learning abilities and concentration and not able to perform up to the mark where I work.
The problem now is that this symptoms has been persistent and very embarassing and troublesome. I have used Levocetirizine and Piriton but with no change this time. It has now gotten to the point where I have nusea everyday and have to vomitt everyday before i feel any kind of relief. When I vomitt, i bring up anything i have ingested but if this nusea comes first thing in the morning, i bring up thick saliva which i am unable to control. I have been told this is allergy but to what?
For burning throat, gargle with salt water immediately and keep doing it.
Take Montelukast+levocetirizine for 10 days one daily(0-0-1) preferably night.
take multivitamins and gargle with Tantum before food, betadine(1:5) and hydrogen peroxide(1:10) after food for three days. Take dichlo for pain relieving for 2 days(1-0-1).
If symptoms persist, rush to the ENT specialist.

I've been allergic ever since I was a little boy and I've learned to live with that. My problem is that during the last couple of years, I seem to get more and more sensitive to the allergens that trigger my reactions, as well as more prone to have shortness of breath as a primary reaction!
This year, although spring hadn't affected me so far, I happened to catch a cold (whether it was the flu, a cold or bacterial infection I don't know!

I have already had my fasting blood glucose tested on several occasions, and it always comes back as normal (in the 90's). I have also had a TSH test, which is normal at 0.43.
I haven't had a kidney test, so i will investigate that.
I notice that my Rhinitis gets worse when I'm lying down. I find my nostrils blocked & sniffling when I lie down. I have to use my Neilmed "Lavage," Allegra, and/or Astellin when lying down, even If I did't have nasal congestion prior to lying down. Is this a concern and/or something I should mention to my Otolaryngologist?
My husband was diagnosed with Vasomotor Rhinitis about 3 years ago. He is a 36 year old male in great shape and good health BESIDES VR (Vasomotor Rhinitis). He has suffered his whole life with what he considered an allergy until he was dx with VR by a very reputable ENT in Madison WI. He grew up in Western Mass, has lived in Chicago, Virginia, Oregon (Portland) and now Madison, WI. All places he has lived offer NO relief.
An ENT doctor told me that I have VASOMOTOR RHINITIS and that I can have the swelling and discoloration from vasomotor rhinitis. I have Chronic post nasal drainage as well, I have had this for 6 yrs. now. I use nasal rinses twice a day for 6 yrs. Tried every steroid nasal spray that was ever invented and also was even on oral steroids for 3 weeks - that did not help either. Am I going to have to live with this until I die? Nothing helps me and I feel so hopeless and desperate.
My allergist says my underlying problem all along has been allergic rhinitis, and she has put me on Nasonex and Astelin, besides given me instructions on 'dust-proofing' my bedroom. I'm an otherwise healthy 30 y/o male with no previous history of allergies or any serious/chronic illness. I recently also had a blood test, which was normal except for slightly elevated Lymphocytes.
My question: Can allergic rhinitis present without coughing, runny/congested nose and itchy eyes?
Other possibility is vasomotor rhinitis which occurs due to rapid temperature changes. In 50% cases of allergic rhinitis is associated with asthma. The rhinitis can be triggered by specific allergen like pollens, dust etc. You need to go for allergy test if needed to rule out the allergen. Avoidance of exposure to allergens with nasal decongestants will be helpful.
The bulging tonsils look two marbles. My daughter is only 3 years old. She has also rhinitis. is it something not to worry about? at night, she has difficulty in breathing. what's the cause of that difficulty?the rhinitis or the hypertropic tonsils?
Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
For the past 6 months I have suffered non allergic rhinitis. I have a weekend lower and upper esophageal sphincter confirmed by a barium swallow exam. Yesterday my nose was burning and it seemed like my stomach acid was reaching my sinuses Is there a link to Non allergic rhinitis and Largeneal Reflux Disease, If so anyone know how to manage it without taking Omeprazole?
I (16) just woke up one morning in January last year ('07) and discovered my nose had swelled up and was red outside as well as inside ( one nostril was red raw inside). Since then I have been allergic to almost everything in the enviroment - I can't walk by grass or trees without my nose swelling up (and releasing a watery discharge) and this happens all year round!
