I know that I had a sore throat and cough, the latter gradually increasing in intensity and dryness). Now, supposedly recovering from whatever it was I got, I started having this peppery sensation in my lungs and more dry cough that wakes me up at night. Of course, my GP suggested that I take antihestamines for a while. Hayfever got to me after all.
However, I really can't stand jumping out of bed EVERY NIGHT for the last 3 days, coughing and gasping for air.
She prescribed me levocetirizine. Its a newer allergy medication and supposively the best! Its class B which is in same caterogory as benedryl. I'm telling you I have been through 14 bottles of afrin and have not been able to go anywhere without my tissues. I have taken one so far and not one tissue today!
For burning throat, gargle with salt water immediately and keep doing it.
Take Montelukast+levocetirizine for 10 days one daily(0-0-1) preferably night.
take multivitamins and gargle with Tantum before food, betadine(1:5) and hydrogen peroxide(1:10) after food for three days. Take dichlo for pain relieving for 2 days(1-0-1).
If symptoms persist, rush to the ENT specialist.
He gave me penicillin kind of medicine for 1 week course and levocetirizine for allergies. It is now my 4th day of the treatment but still the same problem. I still have that "floating kind of feeling". I will just wait for the last day of taking my medicine then I am going back to him for follow up.
ve been to my general physican 3x in the last month and a half and was sent to an allergist. I saw the allergist 3 days ago who said no more steroids as they have bad side effects. I'm presently on Levocetirizine 5 mg 4 pills a day (20 mg total), Fexofenadine Hydrochlorise 180 mg, Prevacid 30 mg, Ranitidine 300 mg. IT'S NOT WORKING. Presently, Hives are on my hands- palm, wrists, back of my neck and scalp.
fexofenadine, prednisone, levocetirizine, doxepin, clotrimazole, oxistat, nystatin, desoximetasone, flagel and Celestone. Just left Dr. Office with stool jars. I hate to wish for a positive test but something is better then nothing. Cross my fingers and hope for an answer.
I have tried different types of alcoholic beverages and each time I get some type of allergic reaction. My forearms will swell up and hives will form all over them. The itching is quite unbearable. I also turn really red. I'm asian and I have been doing research on the topic and have heard of the asian flush but haven't read anything about the swelling and hives.
next morning my lips swollen and become very dry.. i met the 2nd doctor and told him bout it, then he gave me piriton 4mg.. WORST! my lips become sOoOo itchhhhhyy.. it swell than the first one.. then i have dry patches below my eyes.. :( but my rash reduce. so i went for the 3rd doctor... she gave me steroid to help on my swollen lips.. Uhuh.. im getting worse... my lips become so itchy.. everytime i apply medicated lip balm, my lips cracked and it smell.. yuck...
It started last year in the summer, I had a red mark on my cheek, as if someone has scratched it. The scar got very red and itchy and painful, and then the skin went off drying, it healed itself. Then after 1 month it occurred on two sides of my neck. This time on the back of the neck, there was a very big round shape red mark with lots of little swellings, and 3/4 scratch like before around it.

Last month, I saw an immunologist for my dust allergies, and she prescribed me Montelukast Sodium Levocetirizine diHCi (Zykast). Well, that's what it says on the wrapper haha. Anyway, I'm not sure if I this may play a part in my rash.
I had to stop taking Mirtazapine last night as the side-effects I was getting from it are apparently rare and will not go away. I have already taken Citalopram, Sertraline and Mirtazapine for my anxiety but didn't get on with them. I have a phone appointment with my GP this evening and would feel better knowing I had an idea what medication might work best for me. I don't want to take Prozac or anything that will make sick/vomit, dizzy or mimic other anxiety symptoms.
She prescribed Nasonex 2x2, Ipratropium bromide inhalation and Levocetirizine for 10 days. A follow up 10 days later, i was still coughing and she then prescribed Narivent which was so disgusting that i almost puked from it and Prospan (Hedera helix syrup). This did not help, yet again, and i was still coughing. Third follow up after 10 days was prescribed Nasonex again, salt water and a seretide inhaler.
I have seen an ENT specialist at Max Hospitals Delhi, and he has prescribed Montelukast Sodium and Levocetirizine hydrochloride tablets for allergy...could allergy make some people choke on food?
Prior to the effusion, I had no cardiac problems and my blood work was always fine. My IGE, C reactive protein,ANC,RDW-CV,abs mono, anion gap and compliments 3+4 have been elevated since the effusion and continue to be elevated.
I recently had a ct which states that I have small mediastidnal nodes nonspecific.
An immunologist suspects that I have mast cell activation disorder- normal triptase levels. have had scratch allergy testing four times which were all negative.
I take Levocetirizine 5mg tablets, which seem to eventually help and have an EpiPen for emergencies but have never used it, as my breathing hasn’t been affected
Having seen a lot of Doctors and spent money on specialists I am of the opinion that my condition is brought on by a mixture of physical and mental stress.
The physical stress I can occasionally relate to is when I do DIY or general household chores.
