I have been prescribed Levitra and viagra for the past ten years and they have worked well. I was talking mainly 20mg Levitra. A few months ago this only resulted in a less than satisfactory "half erection" and that has been the case since. However I have been woken during the night with a good erection so the "plumbing must still be working.
I am considering switching from Levitra to Cialis. Have read that Cialis has a longer half life (up to 36 hrs vs. 5-7 hrs.). Anyway, I have tried extending Levitra's half-life by taking a second dosage a few hours later, but no matter what, the max effects still really fade off 5-7 hours after the initial dosage. Wondering if anyone knows why this might be... and why a second dose would not extend the effects? Just helps with planning.

I have read in a few websites that there is an increased risk of priapism in patients who take ED drugs like Cialis/Viagra/Levitra and who also have (among other conditions) Sickle Cell Disease and/or Beta Thalassemia.
It's not clear to me whether Beta Thalassemia Minor (my condition) also increases that risk.I could not find much information about it.
That's a good question. Why not try gradually reducing the doses you're taking & see if at each slightly reduced level, you're still able to achieve good erections. Sometimes guys just need a little 'help' to boost their confidence & then once they realize things are still working OK, they can get off the meds. This can apply to Rx drugs like Viagra, Levitra or Cialis as well - just getting the confidence back is sometimes enough...
I would have thought the doctor would have then dug deeper to find the physical cause to then treat that but instead just gave him a sample of Levitra to use if he wanted to have sex. The Levitra did help, but not all that much...the erection was soft and still failed shortly after attaining and there was of course no climax or ejaculation for him. He also had quite a headache the next day and at $14 a dose doesn't seem to be a good solution.

For people that have been here for awhile, they know that there have been dire consequences when people do this on their own.
As Hep Ber, are we suppose to avoid acetominophen? Most medications such as all cold , cough, etc have it. What are we suppose to take as alternative or just go ahead and take it?
