Common Questions and Answers about Levetiracetam thrombocytopenia

keppra

Avatar f tn I see these color blobs that move in my vision that shouldn’t be there, they don’t show any connection to stimuli so I don’t have synesthesia. I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?
Avatar m tn I am an Indian Citizen living in the US. I have been taking LEVETIRACETAM (to control partial-onset seizures) since 2011. Currently, I am in perfect health conditions. As a precautionary medicine, I get the medicine from India either myself or through a friend/family member traveling between India and the US. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, I am running short of medicine. I have my prescription and medical certificates to support my condition.

Avatar m tn It is a autoimmune disease having an abnormally low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) of unknown origin. It occurs in children as well as adults. Peak prevalence occurs in adults aged 20-50 years. Peak prevalence occurs in children aged 2-4 years. Approximately 40% of all patients are younger than 10 years. as adults. Low platelet count (Thrombocytopenia) can be a side effect of HCV treatment drugs. Especially peg-interferon. Thrombocytopenia is also a complication of cirrhosis of the liver.
Avatar n tn Secondary thrombocytopenia is treated by eliminating the cause. Primary thrombocytopenia is treated by immunosuppressive therapies, such as prednisone, which your dog is currently on. Right now we do not know whether your dog has primary or secondary thrombocytopenia, that is why your vet has tried treating with both an antibiotic and with prednisone.
Avatar f tn your weakness and weight gain will begin to resolve once you stop receiving IVIG and steroids. These medications will only stop when you stop having episodes of thrombocytopenia. The thrombocytopenia will hopefully resolve once the tumor starts responding to the chemotherapy.
571167 tn?1223214465 I do not believe the medications the medical community has place him on are worth the side-effects. They placed him on Levetiracetam, Benztropine, and Abilify, and the side-effects are NOT worth the potential benefit of what--self-control? I have worked with youth in placement for 18 years, and these medications do not make any significant difference in their judgments because they do not change their value system.

Avatar m tn At this point of time he is not able to speak more than two words in a row. His Hb is 8.9. He is on valporate, topiramate and levetiracetam. His MRI scan revealed "Assymetric Right Temporal Horn prominence without any difinite evidence of mesial scerosis" His walking pattern is also erratic. Most often he adopts "Toe Walking". When he walks slowly, which is rare, he walks alright. Always he tries to rush up and runs in an imbalancing manner.

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm new to this site I would appreciate any information about marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) secondary to HepC infection? My partner was diagnosed with MZL in Jan 08 by surgical biopsy of a lymph node in his neck. It's a rare indolent form & most likely results from HepC infection. He has a small patch in the bone but CT scans & a PET scan revealed no other nodes in between, so is sort of stage 1 & 4 at the same time. He is 56yrs old, geno 1b, +ive for over 30 yrs.

Avatar m tn Pharmacotherapy usually involves drug modulating GABAergic neurotransmission like Levetiracetam, Piracetam, Clonazepam or Valproic acid against prescription. I suggest you to consult neuro physician for his further evaluation and management. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn If for any reason your blood platelet count falls below normal, the condition is called thrombocytopenia. Normally, you have anywhere from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of circulating blood. Because each platelet lives only about 10 days, your body continually renews your platelet supply by producing new platelets in your bone marrow. Thrombocytopenia has many possible causes.
