keppra

Avatar f tn I see these color blobs that move in my vision that shouldn’t be there, they don’t show any connection to stimuli so I don’t have synesthesia. I’m on levetiracetam aka keppra and clobazam aka onfi. When I was on oxcarbazepine (trileptal) and levetiracetam (keppra) I started having these weird headaches where I would lose my vision, hearing, smell, and coordination, but I could still speak and feel. The doctors are pretty much stumped. Has anyone ever had a situation like this?

Avatar m tn I have my prescription and medical certificates to support my condition. I am curious to know if I can get Levetiracetam refill in the pharmacies in the US or will a doctor prescribe this to me without me going through medical tests. I usually get my tests (primarily EEG and MRIs) in India and want to avoid these tests in the US, because 1. I am in perfect health conditions 2. Even with insurance, they will be extremely expensive. The last partial seizure that lasted a few minutes was in 2012.
Avatar m tn I am taking tablets for my minor neural problem for the past 4 years, The tablets i am consuming are Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) -300mg and Levetiracetam (keppra) -250mg. His MRI scan revealed "Assymetric Right Temporal Horn prominence without any difinite evidence of mesial scerosis" His walking pattern is also erratic. Most often he adopts "Toe Walking". When he walks slowly, which is rare, he walks alright. Always he tries to rush up and runs in an imbalancing manner.

Avatar f tn I'm a 32 year old male and I've been suffering from grand mal and partial complex seizures for almost 20 years. I take Keppra and Lamictal, and thought I don't have any problems getting and keeping an erection, I find it almost impossible to ejaculate when I'm with my partner. Even when I masturbate, it takes a lot of time and concentration to achieve orgasm.
1328714 tn?1294578263 If memory loss is on it I would recommend trying Keppra (Levetiracetam), it is quite new and has virtually no major side effects. I have been on it since just before christmas, and I feel better and my memory is improved. The frontal lobe is actually the memory part of your brain, so unfortunately it is inevitable your memory is a tadge unreliable. I can sympathize with you as I have epilepsy, and have done for the past 4 1/2 yrs. The next few months will be hard but you can get through it.
571167 tn?1223214465 I do not believe the medications the medical community has place him on are worth the side-effects. They placed him on Levetiracetam, Benztropine, and Abilify, and the side-effects are NOT worth the potential benefit of what--self-control? I have worked with youth in placement for 18 years, and these medications do not make any significant difference in their judgments because they do not change their value system.

Avatar m tn carbamazepine, clobazam, lamotrigine, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepine and topiramate. These medications rarely stop the seizures completely but reduce the frequency and severity of them. I hope this helps, my prayers are with you and your son.
Avatar f tn Lately I have been having constant anxiety and I rarely worry about things this bad or this long. I believe it is caused by Biotin because I had a similar fit about three years when I stopped taking Biotin, but I did not see a link then; I got prescription Ativan for anxiety took it for only three nights and the problem went away almost instantly.

Avatar m tn These involuntary movements could be myoclonus which may develop in response to infection, stroke, brain tumors, head or spinal cord injury, liver or kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, lupus etc. side effects of certain drugs like tramadol and antibiotics like quinolones and anticholinergics. It can occur in epiliepsy. Treatment would include discontinuation of drugs suspected to be the cause; metabolic derangements need to be resolved.

1816154 tn?1463430018 Have Any of you ladies breastfed and got pregnant after 13 months of breastfeeding without a period? Or did you not get pregnant until you stopped breastfeeding and got a period?
Avatar m tn Recent studies have demonstrated the short- and long-term benefits of breastfeeding both for mothers and children. Breastfeeding, especially if exclusive and prolonged, leads to significant reduction in hospitalization rates for gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, and sepsis in the early months of life[18]. The benefits for low-resource countries are even greater because breastfeeding is related to better infant and childhood survival[19].

Avatar m tn When did the sexual problems start. was it before or after starting your medication? These meds may be causing the problem. I did look them up and there was not anything in the side effects category that mentioned this problem. But, these meds can be very sedating and they do work on the central nervous system. I take it your using them to control seizures? The Phenobarbital has a very long half life, meaning it stays in the system for a long time. Your taking a pretty high dose.
Avatar f tn You could try chicken and rice with some broth. Put it in a blender and almost liquefy it. You can try giving Pedialyte. I am so sorry as it sounds like your dog is very sick. At 13, he has lived a good life. It is hard watching our aging pets start to lose their quality of life. Fingers crossed that, working with your Vet, you can get this under control. Wishing you luck and please come back to update.

Avatar f tn My 6 year old australian shepherd cross started having seizures starting in April of this year (he had 1) and in June, he had a cluster of about 12 in a 24 hour period and was hospitalized for 2 days. Since then, he has been on Pheno-barbital and was doing well until this last weekend when he had another seizure, followed by another within a couple of hours. We took him back to the emergency hospital and he was released the next morning without having any more seizures in the night.
