It was working well for a year. Then blood was becoming high, Doctor gave me LEVEMIR. If I take 10 units of humalog, after two hours sugar drops 4 points, I think this is the right dose for humalog for what I eat. I eat 60 gram Carb every meal. But 3 hours, sugar tries to go low, but insead, it bounces back and proceede to values and I start to feel hypo, though I never see sugar 9. It is not hypo value, why sugar bounces up, why feel shaky, fear etc. I use LEVIMIR as base insulin.

And then throw the fat content of the food in the mix which slows digestion and we almost have to be a rocket scientist.

When you eat, you need the fast acting insulin like Novolog to act quickly to cover the meal. For some, Lantus and Levemir act the same. For me, Levemir seemed to work better in that it provided more consistency to my blood sugar levels. I like Levemir. I have switched to 2 shots per day (morning and night) instead of just taking the 1 shot at night, because the 1 shot at night may not cover the 24 hours.
Good for you! Your symptoms should peak (be a the worst) and then each day after start getting better. It's amazing how something that makes you feel good can eventually turn on you physically and mentally. Learning to live each day without the pills is the hardest part, even if you don't want them. It's become such a part of us and our routines. Keep yourself busy and force yourself to do things and the time will pass more quickly.
The graph of the effectiveness starts low, rises fairly quickly after that 15-20 minutes to that 2 hour peak, then then gradually tails off. You may want to check on the 6 hour duration, many insulin experts will recommend you use 4 hours as the length of the insulin duration. So your blood sugar rises because of the immediate release into your system of the carbs in the ice cream, flooding your bloodstream with carbs, and the insulin takes a bit to get working.
if you did a slow taper you might not have a severe onset of withdrawal symptoms.some havent had any symptoms for up to 5 days.just take it if and as it comes.
the methadone detox is just a longer duration. sleep and energy issues take longer to return to normal then other opiates.

Hi, this is probably reflecting the peaking of the lantus. If 60s are as low as you go, it 's probably not too big a problem. Your fasting blood sugar is not low. Likely what is happening is that you are going a bit low, and then going a bit higher. You may possibly consider changing your lantus dose to the morning instead of the evening. This way the 'peak' will be happening during the day.
My dog is 9 years old. He started having sudden onset seizures about a year ago. About a month apart. Then for 24 hours he has cluster seizures and then fine again for a month. Very said puliminary tests look good but to go into more detailed testing is much more expensive so we couldn't afford it but he was fine otherwise so just once a month we would make him comfortable for the day, allow the seizures to pass and continued on with life. This past episode has been so much worse.
