Will Levaquin take care of NGU? I have 750 mg prescription from a doctor for sinus? How long would I have to take it? I also have 500 mg prescription of Clarithromycin as well.

Again the symptoms receded but again they returned. This time my doctor prescribed Levaquin (7 days x 500 mg) and 1 shot of Ceftriaxone. I was re-tested for Chlamydia and don't have the results yet. I read scary reports of serious side effects of Levaquin. It's potent but has risks which is why it's given only as a second line of defense. I'm nervous about taking it and I'm wondering if there are effective alternatives to this.

I need help please. My doctors had me on Levaquin for 4 years straight. I believe it's destroyed most of my immune system. Since being off Levaquin for the past few months, I have had chronic bronchitis and pneumonia since. My muscles and body is in agony. I now have to use oxygen all the time, day and night. The recovery times from surgeries are greatly extended now. I'm having another back surgery in a few weeks.

She rcvd, Nitrofuran mono 100mg and took several days...did not work. Went to PCP and he gave her 6 days of Levaquin 500 mg and 5 days of Flagyl 250 mg 3 per day. That seemed to clear her up. Meanwhile I finished the Levaquin after 30 days and was ok for a few then the symptoms came right back. I began to worry about drugresistant Gonorrhea and NGU again and could I have it. There is a tingling or stinging in the Urethra, moreso when my bladder starts to fill.

I came home that day washed very well and started drinking a lot of fluids. I ended up starting to take antibiotics as well. I had a prescription for Levaquin 500 mg pills. I have 20 days worth. Will that kill anything that I could have contracted?

My prior medical history is gastroparesis (of unknown etiology) and was just recently treated for a sinus infection with Levaquin 750 mg for 5 days. I was also very nauseous and dizzy today for several hours. Had a vague pain behind my eyes. Any thoughts?

I recently had a stool analysis test, ordered by a natrualpath, which revealed aeromonas caviae as a pathogen, and told me to take 21 days ofLevaquin, 500 mg 2 x daily. My internal Dr. and GI Dr. said aeromonas caviae is not a pathogen, and the test was "hocus pocus." I do not know whom to believe. I took 7 days of Levaquin and did feel better.

hey docs. i was treated recently for ngu and a testi infection. 750 mg of levaquen for 28 days. but this is what i read. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) sertraline (ZOLOFT), widely prescribed for depression, has been associated with a decrease in the effect of levothyroxine. i take zolaft 100 mg daily. i still have testi pain and burning. i am now bieng treated with diflucan for 7 days for a yeast infection. should i be worried. do u think my ngu was wiped out.

I could see that you have been a bit over dosed with Levaquin 500 mg ,taking 4-6 tabs per day and for three days.For an infection like strep throat its better to start with drugs like Cephalosporins or pencillins and azithromycin or Co trimox.As drug like Levaquin has more fatal side effects I think its better you switch off to other broad spectrum antibiotics like said above.Stop using Levaquin now.Its not that long that you have severe adverse effects,so better change the prescription.

i took levaquin and it was 750 mg it threw me into panic attacks and anxiety i though i was going to die that night , i did not sleep for 24 hours straight, it was from the med i have took the 500 many times but that almost did me in , i will never take levaquin again google it you will not want to take again either . its a bad drug and cant hurt you .

I did read somewhere that it was 500 mg of levaquin per day for a week would cure it; and i figured the 750 mg; was a day and a half of 500mg; that it would take less time since the dosage was higher but to be safe; since i have 750mg of levaquin; and took it for 6 complete days SHOULD cure it? i know; im paranoid paula.

She had the Bladder infection not long after that and was treated with Nitofuran, Flagyl, 750 mg per day x 6 days and Levaquin, 500 mg per day for 6 days...at the same time I was still on the Levaquin...that I feel is important because we were on the Levaquin at the same time for a week. I had pneumonia in Feb 2017. Was on 750 mg of Levaquin for 5 days (1 per day). A few days after the last dose my left Achilles tendon was very sore. 1 month later, I went to my podiatrist. Hey there...you cannot cut the dose in half....i would call your doctor and see if he/she can change your meds or if it's ok to stop..Levaquin can be given in 250, 500 & 750 mg doses...I was on Levaquin earlier this year for uti and had horrible side effects, so i just stopped taking the meds...I had horrible heart pounding, swollen knees and it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me with a baseball bat...

Since that time I have received 2 weeks of 500 mg levaquin. The woman has also been tested for every std under the sun which all came back negative. Any thoughts? Am I making too much of this? Should I leave my penis alone?

after taking Levaquin 500 mg for 2 days I had a sudden onset of stiffness at inner rt thigh. after 1 hr could not put any weight on rt leg. numb spots bilateral calves. I stopped Levaquin and contacted my dr. who changed the antibiotic and told me to take motrin for the inflammation and explained that tendon rupture was rare on Levaquin. This is day 4 I'm walking with a slight limp due to stiffness inner thigh and weight bearing.

I have an ear infection needing antibiotics (Levaquin. 500mg). The pharmacist said that these two meds are contraindicated. I am now on Levaquin 500 mg for 10 days. He sent the urine sample off to the lab for a Cytoplasm test ($220 later), it too was negative. Also has an Ultra sound of my abdomen nothing at all found. I took 1 gm of cefuroxime axetil once and 100 mg of doxycycline twice a day for 6 days. At this point I had two small white dots on the skin of my penis, but no pain or bump. I then took 6 days of levaquin. I was tested for all stds at 25 days. All were negative. At 4 weeks I saw a urologist. He tested my urine and felt my prostate. He was not concerned about the white dots. After this I started having headaches and had a few bumps on my back.

Hi everyone...has anyone ever been on Levaquin (it's in the same class of antibiotics as Cipro)? I was on it for 5 days of my 10 when I started getting some wrist pain and they took me off it. I didn't even know it causes tendon damage. Just wondering if anyone else had those side effects??? I think my mom was on it (IV) but didn't have any side effects. All I can say is if they want to put you on it, ask for something else unless there is no choice! Thanks!

He has had 4 pneumonias in 8 weeks since everytime he has first put on Levaquin. We just got home, he got his first oral treatment of Levaquin, 500 on Friday, This time as any other, first 24 hours he is mostly unresponsive. Then regains. I went to get the prescription and got a 5 page warning letter. My husband at 5'10 "is barely 130 lbs. First time coming to the hospital his potassium level was 3.3. Last admission only 3.1 that was raised to 3,7 in the hospital by intravenius.

ENT said it was not cancer, could see red bumps but not white spots and likely a common throat infection. He took a swab of her throat. I then went to get tested and came back positive for Gonorrhoeae, negative for Chlamydia. I was given a shot, 4 pills and then prescribed 10 days of Doxycycline. My symptoms cleared up the next day.
