Nygirl, When I was on treatment, I got sick and my neuts fell to zero, I was on IV levaquin for 15 days and went home with oral levaquin for a few more weeks. I have cirrhosis. My liver enzymes didn't even budge. I think you will be ok, too. While we have to be cautious and make sure our docs are doing the right thing, many of those warnings are weighed against the benefits of taking the drug.

I wanted to understand if he has to be cautious while using other drugs and what interaction Acitrom has with other drugs. He has been on Acitrom for a week now and has to use it for life. However, I would have to say that there could possibly be interactions with Fioricet, making it potentially more sedating. I would advise you to discuss that with your doctor. Take care.

Likewise, I was never told to avoid taking anything with my levothyroxine besides food and calcium/multivitamin (basically just not at the same time, but I could still have a multivitamin). I've also never had a problem taking benedryl (besides that it knocks me out) or any other drug with my hypothyroid meds. These drugs are awful. i had been given Cipro. I did find that taking 3 mg of boron a day (purchased at a health food store) inactivates the fluoride and got rid of the joint pain and burning in about a week. However to this day 4 years later the tightness in my leg remains. I worked with a trainer and my muscles are fine now. These drugs should be avoided at all cost!

Yeah, some docs don't like the drugs in that family of abx (Levaquin, Avelox, Cipro) as eventually they're going to get a patient with a bad reaction. Nothing like a ruptured achilles heel requiring surgery, crutches, and rehab to **** off a patient! ;) I just did my second set of blood tests today, and I see my LLMD on Wed. I have slowly declining kidney function, but I don't know if that's related to the Levaquin or what.

Was told I probably had no std and the Flagyl would kill potential NGU / Clamydia if present and Levaquin would take care of Gonorrhea. Any of the drugs could be the problem if he's taking so many. He may be too drugged up. He might want to consult a different practitioner to get another opinion.

Rankett is right on, DO NOT DRINK WHILE YOU ARE ON DRUGS. Especially on certain antibiotics - drinking can cause dangerous interactions with the drugs. I don't know if yours would have this kind of interaction, but for God's sake why even chance it? How long's your drug regimen? A week? Two? Surely you can go that long without drinking.

There is a class action lawsuit with that and a couple of other drugs. I was on it but not for long because it gave me lots of joint pain.

t find nearly as much bad press as Levaquin and other drugs in this class had. This is the reason for my reluctance. I still may need to try it if the alternative doesn't work.

I'm sure you already know this,alcohol is not a good idea.Beside that grapefruit seems to be a biggy to stay away from when taking an onslot of many different types of medication.

I could see that you have been a bit over dosed with Levaquin 500 mg ,taking 4-6 tabs per day and for three days.For an infection like strep throat its better to start with drugs like Cephalosporins or pencillins and azithromycin or Co trimox.As drug like Levaquin has more fatal side effects I think its better you switch off to other broad spectrum antibiotics like said above.Stop using Levaquin now.Its not that long that you have severe adverse effects,so better change the prescription.

I know they use the Trazadone for sleep during the detox off of other meds. And they use the neurontin for the RLS coming off the drugs. BUT the benzo and the sleeping pill does not seem to be a good mix at all. I do not know you history but I would wonder why such a cocktail of meds to come off of One..And the lexapro is a AD right? So I just do not know why but maybe your Dr knows why?? I wish you the best.
