letrozole with iui

This is my third round of letrozole. 1st with an iui, 2nd with natural trying, 3rd with iui on may 2nd. This is my last round of letrozole so I pray it worked. Good luck!!!!

I was on clomid for two cycles and had the same issue with thin lining..I was put on Letrozole for the next cycle..haven't been successful yet but I did not get so many side effects.. I definitely have heard from a lot of people about Letrozole not thinning the lining..

I was on Clomid but asked my RE about Letrozole because I have a friend who got pregnant twice on second round of IUI with Letrozole. RE said it was merely doctor preference. My RE has higher success rates with clomid so that's what he prescribes, but his partner in the same clinic uses Letrozole almost exclusively. I'm sure that wasn't very helpful... but thought I'd share.

In my case I opted for clomid/iui because of the costs of letrozole. This last cycle I was successful with a combo of clomid/injectibles/iui. Hang in there and good luck!!

I had my 1st appt with an RE today. He wants to do a superovulation / IUI with Letrozole. I am to take 2 - 2.5mg tablets days 3 - 7. After reading up on this, it is the same thing as Femara right? Has anyone taken this med and does it actually work alone? My other ? is, he said that we can try this for 3 - 4 cycles, but after that we have to think about IVF?? The only things that I have tried in the past are 4 cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. Why would he skip injectables??

While we are excited, I am terrified that we may have high order multiples. We used Follistim and letrozole. I had an IUI on cycle day 12. On day 9 I had 3 dominant follicles measuring 18 and one smaller one at 12. I did not have another ultrasound after this. I took one more dose of Follistim per my dr. orders and then took my trigger shot on day 10. Should I be concerned?

I have done Letrozole twice now, one with an IUI that ended up with a BFN this morning. I'm super bummed about it...trying to be as positive as possible. Will go in for a beta tomorrow morning to check where my hormone levels are-that has to be helpful to know, right? We've been ttc for over 2 years now and had a mc in Feb. 08 when trying w/o meds or anything. I had no side effects with Letrozole and my lining was great apparently.

I did letrozole(femara) with injectibles and timed intercourse. It worked first try and my baby is now a little over 10 months. I didn't have any side effects from it(except pregnancy lol).

says to try at least 4 until moving toward IVF. No blockage or issues with me and no abnormality with him. We are going on 2 years if trying with one MC last year. Frustrated and sad. Has anyone had success with IUIS and how many attempts did it take? Please send positive energy our way :) thanks!

I had 2 follicles. My RE now wants me to try Letrozole this time around again with the trigger and IUI. Has anyone tried this drug and what were the differences from clomid? I believe this is the same as femara? Any advice/knowledge you have would be great. Thanks!

me and my husband have been trying to concive for 4yrs now and we have been on clomide and letrozole with no success. Recently we have been refered for IVF with ICSI. am really worried about the ICSI part as most evidence report a lot of health problems to the baby. does anyone have any take on this. please help cos i am even thinking of not having it if it means i am gonna subject my child to a lot of health issues.

My fertility doctor put me on 2.5 letrozole days 3-7. Has anyone got pregnant with this medicine? How long did it take?

50mg, 100 mg and 150 mg (twice). I never did injectibles. Instead I went on Letrozole (femara) and got pg with that and IUI the first time. I am 12 weeks preggo with twins. So, there are many alternatives if clomid does not work for you. Dont lose hope!

I did have some cramping with my 2nd iui but not the first but I went home and took it easy with the first and had alot of errands to run after the 2nd. So you will just have to see how you feel and what your doc says about work. MY doc told me with both that if i got a pos hpt to call immediatly b/c they had procedures they had to follow. I don't know what they are b/c I haven't got a pos yet. I hope this helps.

Femara 5 mg for days 2 - 6 shortens my cycle by about 1 week (ovulate about day 14 instead of around day 20-21). My previous femara cycle resulted in my second daughter (with IUI). Am in middle of a new cycle now and did the IUI 2 days ago. So TWW for now.

I am 30 years old and me and my husband have been trying to conceive for 1 year now. Started with 50 mg clomid and went up to 150 mg. changed 2 doctors in the course. Had 1 IUI with Clomid done in Feb'08. Changed to 3rd doctor after that..and he switched me to Letrozole in Mar and did an IUI with it. He also put me on Metformin and Synthroid and said I have mild PCOS. Got laparoscopy done in Apr and found level 2 endometriosis.

Generally, after a total of three failed cycles of clomid-IUI you and your REI might want to think about either injections with IUI, or IVF again. My vote would be for IVF, assuming that you had good egg yield and good fertilization your first two tries. Remember in nature the chances of getting pregnant every month are at best less than 30% - you just may not have given IVF enough of a chance.

However I would recommend two other options. One is to consider a drug called letrozole. Sometimes clomid, although it makes women with PCOS ovulate, causes the uterine lining (or endometrium) to be too thin to support a pregnancy. Letrozole does not have this side effect. Another set of drugs to consider are injection fertility drugs. It is pretty common for clomid to fail - only about 50% of women who ovulate on clomid actually get pregnant.

I had first round of IUI in March after 3 years of infertility and ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks. What are the odds we will get pregnant again soon? I didnt get my first period post miscarriage for about 6 weeks; so thought about trying again next month (July). Need some encouragement.

I agree with Sam!! Drinks tons of water, tons! No BD'ing 24 hours before IUI and try not to worry and stress. I know, easier said than done, right? I'm on my third IUI with Letrozole and Trigger shot. I'm hoping for the best. :) Going to re-evaluate if this does not work and maybe move on to injectibles with IUI. We'll see. Good luck!! Hey Girl, first of all did you do any hormones with your IUI .... clomid/fsh shots/ trigger shots.... Is your ovulation being monitored via Ultrsound and LH levels???

I have been taking letrozole for the last 6 months as well as have had 4 rounds of iui sith no sucess, last month they had my on 5mg of letrozole, this month I decided to cut it back down to 2.5. without the meds i can skip my period for 3mths at a time, on it I get it every month, never missing. i have also never been 10 days late, which i am now......good news, i would wish for a positive, only problem is I took test 2 days ago (which means on 8 day late) and negitive.

If i had an IUI on March 15&March 16th when would implantation happen? Anyone know?
