Hi There! On my first round of Letrozole(Femara) and no ovulating is showing. Anyone not ovulate the first month, but then start next couple months, or is this med not like that?? I don't feel the best on it, but will try anything. Had our first little guy a year ago with in vitro. We can't afford that route again, so hoping we are blessed by just doing prescription helpers. But I don't want to keep taking something that makes me feel awful if it isn't going to kick in.

I have used both and after five attempts with clomid no success and the first try with letrozole I got pregnant with my son due to placenta ruption. I'm trying letrozole again with this cycle.

i did use Letrozole for 6 cycles...but no BFP...there were no side effects either....just got cramps during those entire cycles...i know 2 of my patients who used d same...one of them who had PCOD concieved with timed intercourse n letroz...d other who had endo like me didn't...however she got preggo by ICSI...Letroz is now banned in several countries but here in India its widely used....

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month, finally miss a cycle, and it's negative?

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

Hi! Doctors will prescribe either clomid or letrozole to assist with ovulation. There's two main differences: it doesn't have anti-estrogenic side effects like clomid; and although studies have proven letrozole is an effective fertility drug it hasn't been approved by the FDA yet for fertility use, thus isn't covered by insurance (beware it's very expensive). Letrozole was developed to treat estrogen-sensitive breast cancers.

I used to have 9 to 16 days of bleeding before letrozole! After being on letrozole, how many days are you bleeding? This is my second time with Letrozole and I had 9 days of bleeding the first time. insurance covered the clomid - so i am sure they will cover the letrozole. Glad to hear less side effects - i was a raging biatch on clomid - hmm - no wonder i didnt get a BFP - great way to get DH in th emood - LOL. I also have to go for CD3 labs - sort of grosses me out to have AF and a trans-vaginal US. is it as bad as i think it will be? I have only had CD blood b4 - never an us. i am thrilled with this RE.

We already have two children 4 and 3. I was wondering what is the best fertility pill to take. I have tried letrozole for one cycle and got really dizzy. Now i am taking clomid. Is there a better one out there? Thanks!

Hello, have been speaking with my dr regarding my struggle to have a baby after 3 failed ivf's, I am 41 yrs and do no ovulate, before ivf was on clomid and after 3 rounds it gave me a cyst so my dr is reluctant to put me back on this medicine.

Well with my 1st iui on my 1st RE visit he gave me a prescription for letrozole(femara) instead of clomid b/c of clomids effects on the uterus lining. Then he sent me for blood work( endocrine panel) to make sure everything was where it should be we had already had a semen ana and endocrine panel before but he only redone the panel. I had also already had a laproscopy and tubes flushed so after the panel we were ready to start the letrozole.

Just before i found out i was pregnant my doctor had prescribed me letrozole femara which I didnt end up needing to take. Unfortunately, because I was so overwhelmed with grief over the miscarriage and could not think rationally, I decided to take the letrozole counting the bleeding from the d&c as a period in which i used from day 2 throught to day 6. As mentioned, it has now been 3 weeks 4days since the d&c and today I had a positive pregnancy test.

i have pcos and have tried clomide before, of which i did not ovulate on it. i have been on letrozole for the last 4months and have just gone to 5mg day 2-6. i have taken letrozole to concieve. On day 14 i had a scan that showed two follicles size16 and 11. could not have a followup scan so had progestrone level checked on D28.(irregular periods) and it was 34.

did not want to put me on clomid so instead I was on Ferma/Letrozole plus FSH injections. Maybe ask your DR. about going on this instead. I have had no side effects so far from the drugs, and the lining and follicles were all great, so I was told. I am now just on the 2ww now hoping this could be the month. Letrozole is effective in increasing final adult height. Many medical studies have shown that. Most doctors don't know it yet. The recommended dose of 2.5 mg is actually not necessary. 0.3 mg will provide similar effects.

I have been taking letrozole for the last 6 months as well as have had 4 rounds of iui sith no sucess, last month they had my on 5mg of letrozole, this month I decided to cut it back down to 2.5. without the meds i can skip my period for 3mths at a time, on it I get it every month, never missing. i have also never been 10 days late, which i am now......good news, i would wish for a positive, only problem is I took test 2 days ago (which means on 8 day late) and negitive.

But i have stopped bleeding on 22/08/16(is it normal?).On top of that my doctor has advised me to take letrozole from 2 to 6 days during my period.My question is that,should i continue taking letrozole even if i do not bleed?

I had my 1st appt with an RE today. He wants to do a superovulation / IUI with Letrozole. I am to take 2 - 2.5mg tablets days 3 - 7. After reading up on this, it is the same thing as Femara right? Has anyone taken this med and does it actually work alone? My other ? is, he said that we can try this for 3 - 4 cycles, but after that we have to think about IVF?? The only things that I have tried in the past are 4 cycles of clomid and 1 IUI. Why would he skip injectables??
