Leflunomide psoriasis

Common Questions and Answers about Leflunomide psoriasis

arava

Avatar n tn i take the leflunomide (arava) but also take pills for the reflux, which does help. I take renitidine i believe it is called. I found it worked pretty good for the swelling myself. I am also on the Embrel, but still do not have R.A under control. I just wanted to say that the arava was the best drug i have taken up until i was put on the embrel. I live in B.

Avatar f tn He has been on a combination of Arava 20 mg ( Hydroxychloroquine) and Plaquenil (Leflunomide) . He has been going severly downhill since January and has lost 40 pounds, has constant mucous drainage that he chokes on especially after meals, and has severe shortness of breath. Can these symptoms be a result of the medications he is taking? Is it safe for him to take two synthetic DMARDS at the same time?
Avatar m tn I have not felt well since and to top it all I have just been diagnosed with psoriasis which I know to be HIV related esp in men my age with no history of it. I have had several negative hiv tests how many coincidences and pointers to HIV can there be? Can anyone suggest a doctor or lab that can test for genetic variants ? Also I'd appreciate hearing from anyone in a similar position ?
Avatar m tn Now, two years after my unprotected exposure I got psoriasis. Balanitis still here, swollen lymph nodes still here, seborrheic dermatitis which flared up a couple of months after exposure, all different kind of rashes, weakness in the whole body... Thinking about taking another test. I cannot believe this, I really got psoriasis. It should be a really big coincidence that those symptoms are not related with my exposure.
Avatar n tn Hi, Sunlight and water may make a difference in how psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis look and feel. The following natural treatments may also prove to be effective: aloe vera, apple cider vinegar, capsaicin, emu oil, evening primrose oil, oats, and tea tree oil. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.psoriasis.org/treatment/psoriasis/ Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn My son has psoriasis and his body is in bad shape. Every X months he gets medication and during that period his skin is in better shape but as soon as he must stop it, it gets worse. Isn't there any complementary help ? Or eventually homeopatic aid ? Thank you for your advice.

900952 tn?1262692177 Hi, my husband has terrible Psoriasis on probably about 40% of his body, mostly on the bony areas that rub on clothing/hats etc. It runs in his family with his mother and all of his siblings experiencing periodic outbreaks of varying severity. He's tried a lot of steroid ointments and lotions that only work for a short time. He's tried non-soap body washes, shampoos and moisturisers.

663470 tn?1243207890 I am taking Predisone right now for my Athsma (along with Albuterol), and I read that Predisone may help Psoriasis but after treatment, the Psoriasis is likely to come back worse. Is there ANYTHING that can help me get rid of my Psoriasis?
Avatar f tn Hello, If the skin biopsy has shown the results to be psoriasis, then the diagnosis is most likely the same. Psoriasis is a chronic disease and does not show any acute attacks but people often show clear skin or remission for a few months and then worsening of their symptoms in the colder winter months. The exact cause of psoriasis is unknown but genetic predisposition, immune system and environmental factors play an important role. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn So now I have red dry flaky patches on both lids, sides of face (hear the hairline) and both corners of mouth. After much googling, it seems to be Psoriasis. Been trying to find out if there's a link between Hashi's & Psoriasis, not much in depth info to be found. Anyone in here encounter the same problem? What can be done to minimise the Psoriasis?
Avatar n tn I am 27 now and have 10% of my body covered in psoriasis. This is considered severe. Psoriasis in my life has showed up EVERYWHERE , the penis, behind my ears, in any weird spot you could think of. Psoriasis can appear anywhere on the uman body. Depending on how bad the area is, and how built of the skin cells are, psoriasis can be non-painful but usually it has some sort of discomfort associated with it.
Avatar f tn I find lots of info abt other types of psoriasis , but I am unclear what the heck internal psoriasis is. The doc said when biopsy returns we will know and figure out what to do. Wondering if anyone is familiar with the definition of internal psoriasis ? Duration? Treatment? Thank you for reading and sharing all that u do.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed by doctors over the years with different skin conditions and viruses includeing Psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, pilar cysts, keloids, genital warts, and Molluscum Contagiosum. I have also been told by professionals that I take longer to heal than average and I scar easily. I am concerned that there is a bigger problem causing these things to occur in/on my skin.
