Apo leflunomide side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Apo leflunomide side effects

arava

Avatar n tn It is horrible the side effects we suffer while trying to find the most tolerable meds to help us function. I wish there was a pill that had no side effects at all (besides placebos!) What medication did your doctor switch you to after stopping this one? You might try posting with the brand name Arava as you may get more responses that way.
Avatar m tn Not sure which one you're quitting, but stopping any med that affects brain neurotransmitters should be done by a slow taper off to avoid severe withdrawals. You need to talk you your psychiatrist about whether this make sense and so you can do it safely. You also call these sleep pills, but you should know they're not sleeping pills. They're antidepressants.
Avatar m tn Humira is a good medication to induce remission and symptom resolution, tough there are a few side effects associated. However all side effects may not necessarily develop in everybody. I would suggest discussing the pros and cons in detail with your treating rheumatologist. Let’s hope for a favourable recovery. Take care!

1215447 tn?1266416918 Hi, If you & your husband are not trying to have children, and thus the B.C. pills, until your anti-depressants kick in, I would use a "rubber" along with your BC pill. Meanwhile, while you're doing that, I would ck out the internet site that is put out by the makers of your anti-depressant (apo-citalopram or "citalopram") and look under the medicine's description.
397118 tn?1219762250 If you google you can find the kind of drug, sorry I don't know what it is, however, I went thru the same thing with my daugher and was able to track down what type via the web. Just enter drug identification in the web search.
Avatar f tn We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). This worked fantastic for a few months. Eventually, I developed this odd rash on one side of my neck. The skin was very red and dry, somewhat scaly/bumpy, a bit raised, uneven + about the size/shape of my thumb. It kind of itched/hurt as well. I wasn't sure if it was connected to my skincare or not, so I continued with my routine.
808815 tn?1254301881 Hi there, I'm sorry you are so worried. However, I think you made a wise choice. There are many strong, and immune suppressing meds that are used for RA that are known to cause worsening of MS or even suspected of bringing MS on. Abatacept is NOT one of them. I thought it was, so I did some reading. The category of med that you would want to avoid is the one that is called the anti-TNF meds or anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor meds. Abatacept is not one of these.
Avatar n tn ) - is a surgical incision of the vas deferens… (not sure if you actually heard it!..), however as a huge worrier of getting the possible long-life side effects from it, I have to believe and rely on that there is still could be one but an effective nasal remedy against this symptom, thus to undergo this risky and unpredictable surgery could be unnecessary!
Avatar f tn I just saw this now, hope you are feeling well! My numbers decreased while I was on pravastatin for 2 months, I had bad side effects and took myself iff.....since then I've been off the statins and my levels are even higher than originally. Any news on you?
4583567 tn?1360256847 I found these pills in my husbands drawer, maybe someone can help me with what they are, they are all white and long oval, some say APO | 1 and some say just N | 1, I know this is an addictions help and everything but I didmt know where else to ask! We have been clean off methadone now for so long I just want to make sure he's not doing anything to jeopardize anything again!!!
Avatar n tn my Apo B is 100 mg/dl. This is OK. My Aop A1 is 137 mg/dl. Should be>115. Ratio Apo B/Apo A1=0.73. Should be <0.77. My Lipoprotein (a) is 104 mmol/L (roughly 48 mg/dL). This is also OK. My Trigly~60, LDL-125, HDL - 50 All look good. Apo B is a new & a better marker than LDL Now this is the issue. My LDL p is 1750 and this is a kind of high (ideally <1250). Why such glaring difference?
Avatar n tn s what I would recommend in your situation, unless you have developed some side-effects to the meds. If the meds don't help and you continue to have symptoms, I would recommend an ablation procedure, if feasible.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows the difference between apo-sertraline and pms-sertraline? I can't afford to purchase my prescription for pms-sertraline, my mom takes the apo version and gets her prescriptions for free under gov't funding. If there's a difference, I obviously won't take her meds but if it's the same thing I don't see the harm. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Aside from this, it can also be due to your IUD. Some side effects of IUD (mirena) use include uterine/vaginal bleeding alterations, amenorrhea, intermenstrual bleeding and spotting, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, headache/migraine, acne, breast tenderness, vaginal discharge and IUD expulsion (http://www.rxlist.com/mirena-drug.htm). Check with your gynecologist about this. Take care and do keep us posted.

256161 tn?1196879046 0) I was wondering if anyone here has taken Arava (Leflunomide) and their side effects? I started it almost 3 weeks ago for the RA and Sjogrens and have started to have nausea, hair loss, skin sensitivity, burning or tingling of skin, and restless legs (already had, but much worse now), vivid dreams, and torso pain like a cramping sensation in back and sides. I have read too much bad stuff about this medicine and I am hoping someone has had a good experience with it.
Avatar f tn He has been on a combination of Arava 20 mg ( Hydroxychloroquine) and Plaquenil (Leflunomide) . He has been going severly downhill since January and has lost 40 pounds, has constant mucous drainage that he chokes on especially after meals, and has severe shortness of breath. Can these symptoms be a result of the medications he is taking? Is it safe for him to take two synthetic DMARDS at the same time?
Avatar n tn I have had two marsupializations and a catheter, my problem is trying to get an ob/gyn to understand how much this effects my life and that i want the gland removed . I have to miss work sometimes because i am in so much pain and sometimes i cant even walk or sit . I just had a cyst last night it only lasted two days but it grew to the point where i couldnt sit and i walked funny . It is always on the left side and i can now tell the second when i am getting one .
Avatar m tn colds are not std related. we recommend waiting a full week after treating chlamydia and gonorrhea before resuming sexual contact. there is a risk of transmitting something before then. why don't we recommend prophylactic antibiotics? because the rates of resistance with some std's are very high and we don't want to add to that problem as well as the side effects of antibiotics often cause more troubles than they are worth to be taken needlessly.
Avatar m tn Depending on what kind of medication you are on, in my experience, some side effects can stay with you for a little while (i.e, when starting, stopping, or adjusting the dosage of an SSRI). For me, medication is a useful tool when confronting anxiety, but it is not a 'cure all.' We all react differently to medications, and must weigh the pros vs. cons of taking them...for me, the pros outweight the cons...keep us posted!
4172600 tn?1350589482 Hello and hope you are doing well. The pain in the hand may not be related to the medications. The symptoms mentioned could be caused by cervical spondylosis. The nerve compression could be due to an osteophyte, growth or a disc. This could be causing the pain in the hand. The pain could also be due to rotator cuff disorders or due to a frozen shoulder. A simple x-ray will help and an orthopaedician can guide you. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
198419 tn?1360242356 In trials to date, Aubagio was generally safe and well tolerated. The most common side effects experienced by participants in clinical trials include diarrhea, abnormal liver tests, nausea, flu, and hair thinning. The prescribing information includes a boxed warning related to the potential for liver damage in persons taking Aubagio. There is also a warning that Aubagio is not indicated for women who are pregnant or women with childbearing potential who are not using reliable contraception.
1170641 tn?1263333023 Norfloxacin (they found out the bacteria was resistant to this), Apo-cefprozil, Nitrofurantoin - that was what I had tried for oral antibiotics. The nasty little bacteria that won't die is called klebsiella, they've found it in every single culture they've done of my urine. So they decided it was time for a drastic measure: IV antibiotics. I was on Ertapenem for 7 days intravenously, and that did not work at all.
Avatar f tn An extensive discussion of all of the genetic tests performed is beyong the scope of this post. Briefly you have several lab results which are associated with a higher risk of heart disease including elevated Apo B greater than 90, elevated LDL >. and apo e genotype 3/4. The decision to treat you aggressively for CVD risk factors should be a mutual discussion between you and your physician based upon a mutual understanding of your goals for therapy.
