Common Questions and Answers about Leflunomide in dogs

arava

Avatar n tn i take the leflunomide (arava) but also take pills for the reflux, which does help. I take renitidine i believe it is called. I found it worked pretty good for the swelling myself. I am also on the Embrel, but still do not have R.A under control. I just wanted to say that the arava was the best drug i have taken up until i was put on the embrel. I live in B.
Avatar f tn He has been on a combination of Arava 20 mg ( Hydroxychloroquine) and Plaquenil (Leflunomide) . He has been going severly downhill since January and has lost 40 pounds, has constant mucous drainage that he chokes on especially after meals, and has severe shortness of breath. Can these symptoms be a result of the medications he is taking? Is it safe for him to take two synthetic DMARDS at the same time?

Avatar m tn Dear Doctors, Assalam o Alaikum, My wife 45 is suffering from arthritis since last 5 years. She takes Lefora and folic acid regularly. She is stable but has developed some problem in her stomach by using lefora. Can she use some substitute or continue with Lefora.
Avatar f tn Dont let your dogs be too close to the baby and dont leave your dogs alone with your baby. Get your dogs in a good consistent routine of feeding, exercising, and down time. That will help them adjust to when your baby is here and you wont have all time to focus on them.
Avatar f tn Welcome to the Dogs Community! :-) The cheesy white drainage makes me think it's follicular cysts. Basically, the hair follicles get clogged and the tiny sebaceous glands underneath can't drain properly which results in a pimple or cyst. Think of it along the lines of humans with certain kinds of acne. Like humans, some dogs just produce more oil in their skin, and there's not much to be done for it.
Avatar f tn I was reading on the net that dogs do not have epilepsy, it is strictly a human condition. I want to believe my vet but.... Will you please explain to me what causes seizures in dogs and what I can di to prevent it?
Avatar m tn Can this be from the medication or is she in pain? The vet thinks she may have brain tumor, and I want to make sure she is not in pain.
11928313 tn?1437358907 Babies are strange to dogs and they move differently, which can startle dogs. I have a Great Dane and a little girl who is turning 3 in May. He has always been wonderful with her but they have never ever been left alone. I just won't take the chance with my daughter and I refuse to put my dog in that position. It takes extra diligence that's for sure but can be accomplished without issues.
Avatar f tn I have a Great Dane and I'm due in 13 days Great Danes are amazing dogs to have around kids i have been able to leave my first son on the floor and my great Dane just lay there and watch him my great dane is very protective of my son I'm actually looking at getting another one here in a couple of months
Avatar m tn The finding came as a surprise to all the scientists involved. Researchers at Pfizer were investigating virus outbreaks in dogs in shelters across the United States. They swabbed the noses of dogs sick with respiratory diseases and searched for viruses. In some cases they could not isolate a known virus, so they sent samples to the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University, where researchers specialize in finding new viruses.
Avatar m tn Dogs will mate towards the end of her cycle. I know larger dogs have a cycle of about 3 wks. I'm not sure with smaller dogs. If she isn't ready to mate she will let the male know.
Avatar f tn ve never heard of that other than in dogs I raise dogs and unfortunately lost two about 5 years ago to parvo but we never got it ourselves.
Avatar f tn It could also be a fungal infection, which is more common in dogs with floppy ears. The ear fold keeps in more moisture than in pointed-eared dogs. It would be a good idea to have your vet take a look so you're not blindly throwing things at the problem that may not work, or may make the situation worse. It's also a good idea to occasionally check for, and remove, any ear wax that is visible. We swab ears with a Q-tip about once a month.
