Common Questions and Answers about Leflunomide antidote

arava

Avatar n tn i take the leflunomide (arava) but also take pills for the reflux, which does help. I take renitidine i believe it is called. I found it worked pretty good for the swelling myself. I am also on the Embrel, but still do not have R.A under control. I just wanted to say that the arava was the best drug i have taken up until i was put on the embrel. I live in B.

Avatar f tn He has been on a combination of Arava 20 mg ( Hydroxychloroquine) and Plaquenil (Leflunomide) . He has been going severly downhill since January and has lost 40 pounds, has constant mucous drainage that he chokes on especially after meals, and has severe shortness of breath. Can these symptoms be a result of the medications he is taking? Is it safe for him to take two synthetic DMARDS at the same time?

Avatar f tn You could try pre-medicating with ventolin or a similar drug to see if that helps you enough to be able to tolerate the environment. There is unforunately no antidote or anything that will make you less senstive to the smell. Medicating before entering or switching churches would be your options. Stains constantly give off a bit of smell just because of the material they are made of, you probably are just more sensitive to it than others.
Avatar f tn The down side to Pradaxa is that there is no known antidote to reverse the effects...like vitamin K that is the antidote to reverse Warfarin. You are correct in your statement about the convenience of not needing periodic INR testing. Like everything...there are pros and con's to just about everything there is.
Avatar n tn Most drugs used for short term in people with non-cirrhotic livers are ok. i would avoid aspirin like drugs though. Paracetamol is good.
Avatar f tn When I was 4 years old I ingested a large amount of bug spray, I was rushed to the hospital and was made to drink charcoal as an antidote to counteract the effects. Well getting to my question, could that incident affect my fertility now? Is there a possibility that I am infertile now?

Avatar m tn My cardiologist told me it is expensive and has no antidote. With Coumadin, in the even tof an emergency, you can be given Vitamin K or plasma. I have been on Coumadin 2-1/2 years and check my INR at home. I have not had any problems with it. I do have to keep my vitamin K intake consistent and many medicines interact with coumadin. Good luck.

89592 tn?1391274422 the med stays in your system for a full year and if there is a problem with it, there is no antidote. My dr is worried about a fall or broken hip. This would be my 3rd reclast infusion. My last dexa showed a 2% improvement. I've been hearing stories on med groups of people having issues with walking, still in a wheelchair after the infusion. these may be rare and prob are but wanted to touch base with others who have been on RECLAST.

Avatar f tn Though non steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAID) and steroids are the gold standard of treatment, more emphasis should be laid on physical and occupational therapy, rest, heat pads and use of assistive devices for walking. Biological response modifiers like etanercept, leflunomide (used less often), adalimumab, or infliximab can be added in consultation with doctor.
Avatar n tn As Sally suggests, it's not necessarily from the hysterectomy if you didn't begin to have these swings right away after the operation. But it's easy enough to check, if your doctor will do a complete workup. I wouldn't leap to antidepressants as an antidote to the lack of hormones, in any case.
