Good afternoon Dr Hagen Will I escape corneal damage/disease if I use Zioptan rather than latanoprost? Will there also be less irritation? (My insurance will pay 80% of the cost, so it is affordable for me). Are there are disadvantages to using it?

I do not think that the dark circles are the result of Latanoprost. It usually takes weeks of use for the circles to develop, and they do disappear if the drug is stopped. Since yours have persisted, I do not believe that Latanoprost is the culprit. See your ophthalmologist for an evaluation. Also, intraocular pressures can fluctuate widely during the day, and may be completely "normal" at times in people who truly have glaucoma.

There should be significant visual recovery after a week and by one month it should be pretty well healed. My doctors do not like to use latanoprost after cataract surgery because it may increase the incidence of CME (macular edema). Dr. O.

Heart arrhythmia including PVCs is not likely due to Lumigan or the two other medications in that family (Travatan-Z and latanoprost). They are not listed in the drug prescribing literature. I have several thousand patients on these medication and only have one patient in many years that complained of heart beat problems HOWEVER when we changed to a different type of medication (different class of glaucoma medications at present there are 4 classes) the problem stopped.

They said that my cornea is really thick and my optic nerves are oddly shaped, but there is nothing to worry about at this time. I was prescribed latanoprost which I took and my eye pressure had decreased as it should at my follow up visit in January. Since then, I have undergone some heart testing due to having palpitations and I ended up going off of the latanoprost, with permission from my doctor. I haven't noticed a large difference in my eyes until recently.

Since you have recently had surgery we feel you need to ask the surgeon about this. This is a generalization. Trouble opening the eyes in the morning often means they are drying out during sleep. Don't sleep under fan or have air blowing across eye. latanoprost often dries eyes out during sleep. You can ask your doctor about this. We have our patients put latanoprost or their glaucoma drop in about 30 minutes before they go to bed.

Sometimes, especially if you get the drug from a local store rather than by mail, you can only get a 30 day supply. The insurance companies buy generics from the lowest priced supplier that why generic pills and drops often look different every time you get them. So physicians cannot specifiy which size bottle to dispense. You can ask the pharmacist if they have any discretion. 2. same answer.

Lately I've had very hard and difficult to pass stools. My diet and activity level haven't had any major changes or has my medications except that I am now using Latanoprost eye drops once a day. I tried using Docusate and Smooth Move senna tea for relief, but they didn't make any difference.

Travaprost has preservatives and maybe BAK. They do make a preservative free drug in the same family (Latanoprost), in the US it is sold under name Zioptin. It can be expensive for some insurance plans. Another option would be to put the travaprost in 15-30 minutes before bedtime and at bedtime put an overnight lubricant in like: Refresh PM or other GEL lubricant.

I paid $250 for a medication I usually pay $40 for and on checking that was the reason. There is a generic latanoprost but its not as strong or as long acting.

Diagnosised as open-angle glaucoma. I use latanoprost drops which successfully control the pressure. (Last measured at 13 to 14) My opthalmologist has said that lens replacement may alleviate the pressure. I would not need to use the eye drops afterwards. What is your opionion? I was recently diagnosed with glaucoma in both eyes and prescribed eye drops to take 3x daily for the rest of my life.These eye drops are 1) Latanoprost and 2) Dorzolamide/timolol. A few weeks after taking these eye drops I notice a large rise in blood pressure (top and bottom numbers)..with my bottom number around 100. Can this be caused by the eye drop medicine?

I want to take meds if needed - Latanoprost was prescribed but I want to know what the group thinks of this as a 1st line drug. Re: the lid – I want to take the tests again - with the lid positioned to keep my eye more open. The OCT was a nightmare - they keep taking it over and over and over – even cleaning the lens on the machine& asking me to open my eye more – etc. This is the eye that the OCT showed such a drop in.

All 3 meds mentioned are class C drugs, which means none have been tested on pregnant women, but have shown to cause defomities or problems in laboratory animals. I would strongly think twice about getting pregnant while being on all of these meds. Ask yourself if the benefits out weigh the risks.

RE no damage, LE OCT scans show 1 area or damage, moderate diagnosis. For 12 years I was stable on latanoprost. Last 2 years pressure keeps rising, tried different drops, ALT, recently cataract and stent surgery. I am 66, with another 20 years or so to live, wondering long term prognosis for disease today? Most studies I found were older, and indicated 10% risk of blindness.

He is behind his peers. He is also the youngest in his class. Prior teachers have mentioned his short attention span. He has no behavior problems. I have spent 3 entire days researching so I am fully prepared for his doctor appointment next week. I want to rule out any other causes for his attention. If he is diagnosed with ADD, I want to try everything before drugs.

What are the odds of those of us that are suffering from from tooth decay and paying outrageously for doctors appointments, prescriptions, and now dentists and dental bills, what do we need or have to do to begin a class action lawsuit? Our doctor has no means of tapering us off but we all have started ourselves.

t good, my ophthalmologist told me I may have to add another eye drop (I take latanoprost and dorzolamide+timolol now) or try SLT. IOP readings the last few years of 18 or less. However since my right eye glaucoma may have been due to an eye trauma from 40 years ago might that reduce the chance of SLT success?

With my first bb i never took a birthing class n i was gonna do it without the epadural too but the pain was so unbearable to where i had to get it!

), what typically happens is they get out on parole, fail the terms of parole (as drug tested during parole), serve out entire sentence, then go straight back to drug use. Unless prisioners are drug tested and can prove they are clean, I don't see the point in treatment, the odds of reinfection are just too high IMO.

Now on blue cap drops 2x/pd, beta blocker 2x/pd, and Latanoprost before bed time. Worried and not sure how to take this????????

So when going up against some one with a drug habit you have to remember that it is a learned behavior to take the drug along with the intense desire to take the drug.

t find them particulaly helpful. My class just covered what I had already read in the 1 pregnancy book I bought so I talked to the instructor and stopped going.
