lantus

Avatar n tn So, in answer to your question, Lantus is definitely worth it. Currently, Lantus is not subsidised here in New Zealand either. So I will be paying the full price too.
Avatar n tn Try this site. It will list which programs she's eligible for. https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php If she has no income or insurance, she should be able to get her insulin from the manufacturers. I'm pretty sure that Sanofi Aventis (maker of Lantus) participates, as well as Novo. You have to apply directly to each company that carries the drug you need. Check and see if the strips manufacturers have programs. Some of them do. What type of meter does she use?
Avatar f tn I have yet to check humalog, but I imagine they offer the same thing. I am on Lantus and Humalog as well and the price of these insulins has almost doubled in the past couple years.
Avatar n tn Why is it that Lantus requires a prescription when other long-acting types of insulin do not? I feel like I should be able to go to a drugstore and purchase any type of insulin that I choose without a prescription.
Avatar m tn Since it is a new drug it is relatively expensive. I get mine at Walgreens here in Northern California. The retail price is $639 for 90 pills. My co-pay is $45.
148588 tn?1465778809 Now, Gilead has set a new benchmark for unbridled greed with its outrageous price for Sovaldi—a price that some pharmacy industry sources suggest represents a retail markup of 279,000% over the cost of actually producing the drug.” In his letter to state Medicaid directors, Weinstein wrote, “Gilead is charging a higher price for this drug even though the cost to produce it is small. According to industry reports, Gilead produces Sovaldi for approximately $1.

My insurance paid substantially less than that $3,700 and then if I had to pay a percentage it would be based on that new amount. Please, please do not give up on finding a way to start your therapy. Also, talk to your doctor about this problem. They may have other resources for you or a suggestion of a different drug with a lesser cost.
Avatar m tn it is an online website which produces all kind of natural vitamins directly so the price is lower, i guess their products are available online only or relabeled on retail
798555 tn?1292787551 Do any of you buy Heartburn MD at a retail store or online for a decent price? The product was a miracle for me with NO side effects!
544772 tn?1321285209 Heh - about over the counter - the pharmacy actually offered to sell me the Lantus cartridges over the counter - for cash price - Over $860!!! Eek! I declined... After one more very frustrating call, I just gave up. I just got back from walking into the local endo's office and saying "maybe you can help me - your central phone service downtown s*&^%s - can someone here write me a script?" - amazingly (after all tat) it actually worked!
Avatar n tn I have just started using Lantus and am having a hard time controlling BGs. Does anyone have any anecdotal experiences with it? First, there is the 22 hour duration. If I take it at bedtime, I find that getting control of dinnertime BG is very difficult - I have to use 3-4 x the normal dose of insulin to get on top of it until it is time to take the Lantus.
Avatar m tn Percocet does not cost that much. Retail value of 120 pills(months supply) is $38.99 with Target pharmacy. She is not telling you the truth. All pharmacies charge the same no matter what medical insurance you have.
Avatar f tn I have been on lantus since about 2003, and in 2007 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I ve just been reading how lantus may cause cancer . im afraid the lantus may have caused this. did anyone else have anything like this happen? as well im type1 diabetic and my bloodsugers are really up and down all the time and i take a split dose of lantus. my suger will drop and stay down all day or for hours!
Avatar n tn I have noticed that no matter what I do the lantus stings after I inject it before I go to bed. Is this common? Is there any tricks anyone has learned that has helped them?
Avatar f tn I am a type 1A diabetic with normal insulin sensitivity and predictable bg responses to insulin doses. Until now. I went on a reducing diet (high protein, next to 0 carbs, increased exercise) but never decreased my once daily PM dose of Lantus (10 units.) Immediately my AM bg's jumped to over 200 and stayed there. No hypoglycemia during sleep (I never woke up, anyway.)I could bring my daily bg's down with my shortacting insulin.
Avatar f tn Page 1 of 269 for: I'm taking 32-40 units of lantus a day. My A1C is 6.7. Why would I be given a pill instead of short acting insulin if the lantus has proven to work so well? ive tried numerous pills for diabetes over the past 20 years. Efficacy never enough- so we tried lantus.
Avatar n tn I am not a phycan, but i would highly suggest that you dcusss this change with your endocronolgist as you might have to do this over several days as lantus is a 24 hr insurlin. The other is that lantus really doies not have a peak so it should not effect your luch time injuection.
Avatar n tn Lantus is very slow-acting and really rarely causes severe hypoglycemia, in my experience, for warning symptoms occur long before it gets severe. However, if the warning symptoms are not listened to, I have personally noticed that the hypoglycemia that eventually happens makes me feel worse than some of the quick-acting insulins do.
Avatar n tn And as for the sweats about a half hour after taking Lantus, there IS a slight peak action with Lantus, although this peak action for most people is several hours after taking the Lantus. In my case, I usually take my Lantus at about 6 am, and I notice a peak that causes my glucose levels to drop by about 8 am. This happens even if I have not taken any Novolog or eaten breakfast (sometimes I wait until I get to work to take Novolog and eat breakfast), so it has to be the Lantus peaking.
Avatar f tn I seemed to be gaining a lot of weight since being on Lantus for the last two years as well I have mood swings and irritability and now started having severe lows right after injecting the Lantus (it usually happens if I bleed after my shot and has happened since switching to the Solostar disposable pen needle. Anyone else have any bad reactions to the Lantus.
915277 tn?1252573113 Anyone out there on Lantus, and have you heard about this and will you stop using Lantus due to this news?? What bothers me about this news is that the study seems a bit shaky...but, I also feel, where there is smoke, can fire be far behind?? I, myself, am thinking of changing to Levemir, at least until the experts decide what to do. Only because, I have enough health problems, if I can save myself some anguish, I think I will...What's your take on this issue??
3104777 tn?1363885649 I'm like you, but fortunately I don't have to start work till around 5/6 months after baby has been born. I plan to breastfeed as long as possible! It's good your looking at electric even though they're more expensive, they're the best for working mums. I'm not so great for money and have been struggling but I managed to find Avent Philips single electric breast pump on amazon.co.uk for only £60 odd! Which is a bargain considering what a good make Avent is.
Avatar m tn Diabetes is a disease where the body does not proses carbohydrates properly resulting in high blood sugar (BG). lantus is a background insulin, lasts about 24 hours. lantus just keeps you idling along. When you eat carbs it raises BG as your body digests the food. so you need insulin to lower your BG the same way that food raises BG. When you eat or when your BG is too high you need to take insulin that is faster acting than Lantus.
Avatar n tn I have had so much problem with that Lantus Opticlik that my Health Providers will switch me to the Levimere Flex Pen after I use up all the lantus cartridges. Is lantus a better insulin or is Levimere just as good as Lantus using it as a basal 24 Hour insulin???. I get my supplies from the Military Hospital because I am a retired service member and they do not have the lantus solostar flex pen but they do have the levimer flex pen.
Avatar n tn I have other miscellaneous diabetic supplies that I am selling too. I am no longer on an insulin pump so I do not need these supplies any more. The asking price for each box is $50.00, these boxes retail for approximately $140.00 each. If the item is shipped, I will charge only the actual shipping charge. Please feel free to call or email me with any questions. Thanks.
