i have this strong feeling hes going to put me on another benzo like klonpin witch i took them for 12 yrs prior to the xanax...the methadone and xanax been on both of for 5 yrs the same time was put on the methadone with know problems..i take 40 mgs of methadone and avg 3 mgs of xanax aday..this controls the anxietys and panic is the worst..have had it since 1989..i dont get it much.. but when im maina nothing stops that including the xanax....

Also the lithium might not be working for you as well as the Lamictal did and Xanax can sometimes cause personality changes as a side effect but each person reacts differently to each medication but it would be worthwhile to speak to your psychiatrist about all this.

I am in my mid 40's I have been on Effexor XR at 225/mg and Lamictal 300/mg a day for several years to treat bi-polar. I saw two new doctors and was told that since I have a mood disorder I should not be on anti-depressants and should be taking Lamictal. I was later diagnosed with Bipolar I and BPD. Lamictal has worked great for me. It did take a while for it to "kick in". I've been at 200 mg for 5 years now. I feel "normal". I barely have any side effects and don't feel medicated like I did with the anti-depressants. I think you should listen to your new doctor.

now I am still on a low dose of lamictal 75mg and am going to be raising the dose again in 2 weeks. My dr. told me that if lamictal doesnt work that lithium is my last resort. the cycling just never seems to end. I am on 225mgs of Lamictal, 1600mgs of Neurontin and 1.5mgs of Klonopin. Hello I am also not into taking drugs they scare me to much. But my PVCs scare me more. I have recently started taking xanax at night only and the acebutolol 200mg in the am and 200mg in the evening. Some days I feel no PVCs some days a few here and there. I am not anymore tired then I was before I was on them. I am a smoker and have cut back due to the drug I dont feel I need it to relax me anymore. I am please for now. I hope this helps. My anxiety is stupid crazy sometimes.

what are the side effect of taking zoloft and lamictal and xanax together

My daughter-in-law, sho is bipolar, just became pregnant, it was not planned, she is on a lot of serious medication, lamictal, topomax, cymbalta, xanax. She is seeing her doctor's this week. We are all terrified that there will be something seriously wrong with the baby. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Also, am on Trileptal (1800 mg/day, with 300 mg in am and 1500 mg in pm) and Xanax (between 1 1/2 to 2 mg/ day depending on anxiety symptoms). The doctor wants to get Lamictal into my system and then decrease Trileptal slowly as our next step. Anyway, any comments on these side effects? Thanks for your help!!

I was sick with slipped discs in my back for 2 weeks. I am on Effexor XR, Lamictal, and alprazolam. During the time I was sick I took more of my alprazolam to sleep. My usual dosage is 2 mg per day. One in the morning and one in the evening. I don't even remember how much I took for those 2 weeks. Probably 4 mg or more per day. About a week after I started feeling better, I went down to my regular dosage of 2 mg per day. It has been almost a month and a half and I am feeling very funky.

In the meantime, I started taking Lamictal 25 mg. My question is, will Lamictal help with the hyper state that Zoloft put me in (racing thoughts) and how long does it take. I have finished my first week and feel the same, except my jumping leg has subsided (probably from discontinuing the Zoloft). I am switching from Trileptal to Lamictal over a long period of time. After 3 months, I am down to 900 mg of Trileptal, 2 mg Xanax, and 150 mg daily, down from 1800 mg daily of TRileptal originally, and a VERY slow introduction of Lamictal into my system. Of course this happens on the weekend, otherwise I would have called the pdoc by now-- anyway, let me know. Help is appreciated!

Does anyone have a problem with temper when taking Klonopin or Lamictal, or either of these drugs helping with a temper. I've been on Klonopin for several years so doubt that's the problem. I've only been on Lamictal two weeks and on lithium for a few months. I've had a problem with my temper for about a month.

I was reading another stream and saw that others have been put on wellbutrin and lamictal. I am bipolar 2 with rapid cycleing, anxiety disorder and a few other things related to those. I have been put on those same meds and xanax for anxiety. I was wondering how well they seem to be working for anyone else on them. Also I am very medication tollerent.

There is no miracle pill yet but there are a lot of medications that really make this easier for a little while but in my experience there is no medicine that works consistently. Right now I am on Seroquel which works great for me and I am about to get back on Lamictal. I hope you find one that works for you.
