Wellbutrin is the only AD that doesn't make me go nuts. If you would have asked me 20 tears ago how it made me feel, I would have said stoned, but who knows because I was on other meds then too. Today it (and the Lamictal) doesn't make me feel like anything, except better, which is a good thing.
it seemed to help me ok. not totally, but ok. i was taking 100mg Lamictal and 150mg Wellbutrin daily. my deep depression(suicidal thoughts) mostly went away,but many problems still exist. like lack of focus,direction in life, motivation pushing myself. so,my therapist suggested i go on Ritalin to help with these concentration/focus issues. i've always had big problems concentrating on anything. like reading especially. at the moment i am weening myself off Lamictal and Wellbutrin slowly.
I was taking wellbutrin along with lamictal and celexa and was doing great, I told my doctor i was doing great and he decided to just take me off cold turkey 2 weeks ago and now i am crying alot , not sleeping, i am just not myself i am spaced out now and family friends and co workers can see a difference in me , not sure why he took me off since i was doing good , i feel like i am about to lose my mind very irritable, and angry at times why would he take me off if i were doing good on it , h
150mg Wellbutrin/150mg Lamictal daily. I was hoping the Wellbutrin would help me with my concentration, but it hasnt. my bipolar/depression symptoms are gone mostly. could i take Ritalin (along with these 2 drugs) or a natural drug to help with my concentration?
I just started wellbutrin four days ago. I am taking 150mg XL with Lamictal. (The reason I started the Wellbutrin is because I was taking Celexa and couldn't handle the weight gain). The last two days I have been edgy, angry, yelling, up and down in my emotions. Fine one hour and angery the next. This is worse then when I wasn't on it. I am wondering if these are symptoms starting out with it, gets worse then better? Did anyone have side effects starting this medication?

However you are taking lamictal and I wonder if you have had past problems with hypomania? Wellbutrin can cause a hypomanic episode in some people so watch out for that.
I think you are doing great tapering your pain pills. That is extremely hard to do and it is good that you found this site. Keep posting and people here will help you through that withdrawal.
One other thought, based on lots of personal experience, the pain pills cause depression.
I am taking Lamictal, Zoloft, Ativan and Wellbutrin for BP II and PTSD. I am having memory issues that are bothering me. Maybe since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year (he's 78). Has anyone else had issues with memory while on these medications?
I was recently diagnosed with major depression and started taking generic Wellbutrin XL. Within a week of taking Wellbutrin 150 mg, I noticed changes in my libido, which continued to decrease. After two weeks I moved up to 300 mg, and my libido became almost nonexistent and I've been unable to have a complete erection. I've been on Wellbutrin for 4 weeks now and my sexual side effects have not subsided.
I was on Lamictal and Wellbutrin at that time. I stopped the Lamictal abruptly (I know, big no no) and started taking Wellbutrin right after. On the fourth day of taking the Wellbutrin, I started experienced violent jerking movements as I was trying to fall asleep. I didn’t sleep at all for three nights. Finally I went to the pcp and she prescribed Restoril for the time being. That helped, but I was afraid since it’s an addictive drug, so after about four weeks, I weaned myself off.
said i could add another 150 Wellbutrin in the afternoon. My Wellbutrin are generic and not time release.

I never tried wellbutrin though they say very suitable for bp. i tried on the other hand paxil/seoxat and it sent me over the roof right away. in fact it says in the brochure that seroxat is bad for bipolars driving them manic. of course all AD's do that except that it's underlined in its pamphlet.
I tell you something i tried cipralex/lexapro is better than paxil for me. I read that wellbutrin can drive people manic though some asserted that it's the least which does that.
I've been on lamictal for a long time, 300mg a day and Wellbutrin 300mg a day. I have had some severe scary mood swings that I can trace to the Wellbutrin it seems. I think I did better on Zoloft but I hated the weight gain. I'd be resistant to go back on it, especially since I've started to lose weight.
Anyway, if my psych decides to throw out everything, what do you think may be tried next? I need to take something that will allow me to function at my job as an RN.

I've been on Wellbutrin (150) for a number of years, however, my Dr has recently added Lamictal as well. I'm so worried that the Lamictal will cause me to gain weight. (I previously gained weight with Abilify) Feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I just found out I am pregnant. I am taking 100mg of lamictal and 150mg of Wellbutrin XL. I stopped taking both of those meds two days ago when I found out and am wondering if that was the right decision. I feel like crap, and I know the medications can potentially harm the baby, but can abruptly stopping the medication hurt the baby? I really feel crappy and its only day two. The OBGYN says ask the psychiatrist, and the psychiatrist says ask the OBGYN.
is this mix ok? i used to take Wellbutrin and Lamictal,but now only Lamictal. my therapist feels i need something to boost my concentration and Wellbutrin didnt work.
Thanks for above responses. My psychiatrist has me on Lamictal, Effexor, Neurontin, Wellbutrin, and Nuvigil. From my PCP I take Pravachol and Lisinopril. Is it safe to take all these together? All answers are appreciated.
I am currently on Lamictal and Prozac and doing okay...not great but okay. I believe the Lamictal is a maintainence drug for mood swings and it contains a antidpressant. My bipolar leans more to depression than mania and I have to be on a antidpressant. When beginning a new antidepressant I tend to get mania for a short time but seem to adjust after the first week or two. Hey, if you are feeling good...why mess with something that's not broken! As a person with bipolar Lamictal worked well for me. I know Wellbutrin has been helpful for people I know with depression as well. ECT is generally considered last resort when all medications have failed to work.
ve been with her and she seems to be very melancholy and also short fused over the many situations. She weighs 100 pounds and is 20 years old. She began with Lamictal, which she worked well with, other than fatigue, but she got a rash of ringworm and the doctor took her off it immediately. He didn't know for sure whether the ringworm was incited by the Lamictal. Now she's on keppra. Could it be that we should add an antidepressant to her regiment?
Hello,`I am new at this soo.. i was diagnosed a yr ago and was put on effexor that didn't help, and serequel for racing thoughts. then my doc put me on wellbutrin xr that was ok for a couple of months but my depression has worsed tremendously and i am taking wellbutrin xr 200 mg, serequel 50mg, and clonapin. the wellbutrin has no effect on me at all and i was actually wondering about topamax. i have tried almost every antidepressent and nothing.
