You will find unfortunately pdocs combining all sorts of drugs. I have seen lithium and lamictal which to me makes more sense, but tegretol and lamictal say i find strange yet i saw it. This proves simply that drugs are trial and error and it takes sometimes months if not years to find a good combo. The proof is that if the same patient consults 2 pdocs he will find them writing different options.
helped more and has had less side effects than anyother I have been on. I have also tried zoloft, prozax, paxil, and wellbutrin xr. Anyways, I was just wondering what expeirences anyone else has had on abilify? I know it effects everyone different but.....
Same here Seph,,I take wellbutrin and lamictal and feel great. My Psych NP also added a 50mg dose of Zoloft and this is the best I've felt in years. And great as not in manic,,but just normal I guess, if there is such a thing!

I've been on lamictal for a long time, 300mg a day and Wellbutrin 300mg a day. I have had some severe scary mood swings that I can trace to the Wellbutrin it seems. I think I did better on Zoloft but I hated the weight gain. I'd be resistant to go back on it, especially since I've started to lose weight.
Anyway, if my psych decides to throw out everything, what do you think may be tried next? I need to take something that will allow me to function at my job as an RN.
is this mix ok? i used to take Wellbutrin and Lamictal,but now only Lamictal. my therapist feels i need something to boost my concentration and Wellbutrin didnt work.
The risk that does exist would relate to the fact that alcohol withdrawal tends to lower the seizure threshold and Wellbutrin does the same. And believe it or not, you experience mild alcohol withdrawal during the night after you drink more than two drinks of alcohol (hence the disrupted sleep). So, the risk depends on how much more than two drinks you have....
I wish your daughter well, I too am on Keppra 375mg twice daily and have started lamictal 50mg per day. I am also very irritable and tired. My doc wants to wean me off Keppra and slowly increase my lamictal. Luckily I have not had a reaction this far with it but its only been two weeks. He wants to switch due to the irritability from Keppra. I was taking Wellbutrin for depression but am not any longer, did feel I need it haha.
it seemed to help me ok. not totally, but ok. i was taking 100mg Lamictal and 150mg Wellbutrin daily. my deep depression(suicidal thoughts) mostly went away,but many problems still exist. like lack of focus,direction in life, motivation pushing myself. so,my therapist suggested i go on Ritalin to help with these concentration/focus issues. i've always had big problems concentrating on anything. like reading especially. at the moment i am weening myself off Lamictal and Wellbutrin slowly.
I was taking wellbutrin along with lamictal and celexa and was doing great, I told my doctor i was doing great and he decided to just take me off cold turkey 2 weeks ago and now i am crying alot , not sleeping, i am just not myself i am spaced out now and family friends and co workers can see a difference in me , not sure why he took me off since i was doing good , i feel like i am about to lose my mind very irritable, and angry at times why would he take me off if i were doing good on it , h
150mg Wellbutrin/150mg Lamictal daily. I was hoping the Wellbutrin would help me with my concentration, but it hasnt. my bipolar/depression symptoms are gone mostly. could i take Ritalin (along with these 2 drugs) or a natural drug to help with my concentration?

I was on zoloft for about a month and was pleased with the way it stabalized my terrible mood swings and anger. It basically numbed my emotions and made it easier to get up and go to work, school, etc. without having bursts of anger or tears for no apparent reason. Although it helped the mood swings, I still felt no motivation to do anything and felt even more fatigued than ever before. My biggest original problem was my drive and motivation.
my doctor has me on paxil 40 mg and wellbutrin xl 300 mg ..... is this combination beneficial to me cuz every since i've combined the two i been feeling more depressed than ever and i cant sleep at night so she has me on restoril for that ..... am i heading in the right direction? or am i making things worse?
I just started wellbutrin four days ago. I am taking 150mg XL with Lamictal. (The reason I started the Wellbutrin is because I was taking Celexa and couldn't handle the weight gain). The last two days I have been edgy, angry, yelling, up and down in my emotions. Fine one hour and angery the next. This is worse then when I wasn't on it. I am wondering if these are symptoms starting out with it, gets worse then better? Did anyone have side effects starting this medication?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Wellbutrin is an atypical AD and with them it's very personal, it really depends from one person to another. Give it the time to kick in tho, it takes a minimum of 2 weeks.

I am taking Lamictal, Zoloft, Ativan and Wellbutrin for BP II and PTSD. I am having memory issues that are bothering me. Maybe since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year (he's 78). Has anyone else had issues with memory while on these medications?
I'm on Lithium 900mg and 150mg of Wellbutrin and 300mg lamictal. I have been on Depakote as well but my body was absorbing it to fast and I never really styed at a level good enough. Since I've been on the lith and well/lamictal I seem to cycle more then with the depakote well lamictal. Has anybody on these meds for Bipolar been at a level an even level and stayed at it. I was on 1100mg of Lithium and the Dr had to reduce due to the fact I was so flat unemotional like a robot.
My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? She has some aniexty and depression ?Her hands shake after wellbutrin,but doctor said to try and see if it subsides after body gets use to it.Please let me know if this combination is used alot?
Hello, I'm a 30-year-old male. I was recently diagnosed with major depression and started taking generic Wellbutrin XL. Within a week of taking Wellbutrin 150 mg, I noticed changes in my libido, which continued to decrease. After two weeks I moved up to 300 mg, and my libido became almost nonexistent and I've been unable to have a complete erection. I've been on Wellbutrin for 4 weeks now and my sexual side effects have not subsided.
I was on Lamictal and Wellbutrin at that time. I stopped the Lamictal abruptly (I know, big no no) and started taking Wellbutrin right after. On the fourth day of taking the Wellbutrin, I started experienced violent jerking movements as I was trying to fall asleep. I didn’t sleep at all for three nights. Finally I went to the pcp and she prescribed Restoril for the time being. That helped, but I was afraid since it’s an addictive drug, so after about four weeks, I weaned myself off.
I am kind of the exception because I am medication resistant and my depression and anxiety is a tough nut to crack. I am currently on a Pristiq, Lamictal and Lithium combination and it seems to be working ok, but the add on of the Lamictal and lithium is only in it's second week so I should know more later on it's effectivness.
Are you disagnosed as Bi-polar 1? I am diagnosed as Bi-polar (NOS) Not Otherwise specified.
