Lamictal side effects dreams

Common Questions and Answers about Lamictal side effects dreams

lamictal

Avatar f tn I've been on Depakote and Seroquel for bipolar and not improving much, so today the doc took the depakote away and is starting me on Lamictal. Can anyone share your experiences with it? He told me it should not give me the weight gain or fatigue, and the only thing I need to watch for is if a rash develops on my body to let him know immediately, as it could be serious enough to land me in the hospital. Other than that, does the lamictal really have relatively few side effects?
1037077 tn?1253480282 I would not consider dreams to be a side effect of the medication, but instead an opening to learn more about why you are taking medications in the first place.
1687184 tn?1307478592 I am on Lamotrigine/lamictal and it has worked wonders for my mood. Very few side effects too. Side effects of drugs scare me too. I do a LOT of research as well. I've decided I like me on meds better than I like me off meds. I take an antipyschotic too (Geodone). That is scary crap. Took me a long time to start taking that pill. I was pretty desperate though. It helped a lot. I like me when I take these two meds. I am scared of what I become (an ultra rapid cycling mess) without them.
Avatar n tn ve been on Wellbutrin for 4 weeks now and my sexual side effects have not subsided. I specifically chose to take Wellbutrin because of its reputation for rarely causing sexual side effects, because even while depressed I had a pretty healthy sex life. However, I recently read that studies have shown that, although less common than with SSRI antidepressants, Wellbutrin can cause sexual side effects, such as decreased libido and impotence.
Avatar n tn My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. The doctor wants to ween her off the lamictal completely and start her on klonopin wafers. I am concerned about the "drowsiness" side effects. Do these eventually go away?
Avatar n tn I've been taking zyprexa for almost 6 months and am still suffering side effects. I get blurred vision and fogginess which makes it hard to concentrate. I'm sleepy all of the time and could fall asleep at my desk if I could. I've had bipolar disorder for 10 years and have never been sleepy all of the time. In the past, prior to this medicine, I've always had troubles sleeping. Does anyone else have the same problems as me?
437036 tn?1225284804 IMOVANE (14mg) for the past 3 months or so IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS i have been experiencing the following symptoms (and in a very serious way) * fatigue * nausea * Shaking/ tremor (BAD) * reflux * Night sweats * vivid dreams * decreased appetite * anxiety ++ * no interest in sex at all * stiff muscles I have to take the cymbalta but want to wein myself off the others- is there any explaination as to why im feeling these side effects?? Why are they so bad?
Avatar m tn The side effects you are describing can occur as an adverse reaction to Lamictal but it also could be a matter of interactions with the other medications. What might be going on could have a variety of causes. Its also important to think whether it has helped you or not. All of this could be discussed with your psychiatrist so they could come to an appropriate decision within their clinical discretion.
Avatar n tn As lagoya mentioned, you may or may not experience side effects. If so, they range from annoying side effects to serious side effects. If it's helpful, when I took flecainide, I had weird dreams, shakiness, tremors and gastointestinal problems. It wasn't horrible, but it was bothersome enough that the doctor switched me to rhythmol. Great suggestion from lagoya on checing out the medication under "Health Topics" above.
Avatar n tn lamictal has a warning in the side effect booklet about taking with birth control; yes, it can (and usually does) minimize your birth control effectiveness. might wanna talk to your doctor, though.
Avatar f tn I do know that all antipsychotics can cause anti-cholinergic side effects which are typically blurred vision, dry mouth and sometimes trouble urinating so you could speak to your psychiatrist about that as one potential cause.
Avatar f tn I know Lamictal has a strong anti-depressent effect including when I took it and dizziness is a common side effect at first (including with me) but it generally passes in time.
735919 tn?1236444549 I am on Lamictal and Geodone. It is a good combination for me. Didn't get any side effects with the Lamictal. With Geodone I have a few side effects. One side effect is I lost a lot of weight. Which was good to begin with as I was a size 12 going on to 14 but I am now a size six. I really have to watch that I don't lose anymore weight. I'd like to gain some muscle tone too. I also have some agitation, or it increased what was already there. I alway fidgited now I do it more.
Avatar n tn i don't know about the dreams, but mood swings and lack of concentration are most definitely side effects.
337492 tn?1212458836 I am starting to feel better, but I am having side effects. I have been on the lithium for a year so I am not worried about it, but I feel jittery, am shaky, and my heart rate is staying at 100 BPM. Will this calm down as the med gets in my system? 150 mg per day taken at 75 mg x2. I just want to make sure I will be ok. I see my new doctor on Tuesday. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I have had no side effects from Lamictal. I take 200mg twice a day. I have been taking medicines for Bipolar since I was diagnosed in 1990 and all gave me some pretty bad side effects except Lamictal. When I switched from valporic acid to Lamictal all my side effects disappeared with in a couple of weeks. Lamictal is now available in generic.
1448748 tn?1312956208 My doctor suggested eye exam first and if normal, stop taking lamictal to see if it is that causing my additional symptoms, then if still there, look at ms as possibility My problem with this is that my vision is blurry in only one eye, and I have been taking lamictal a long time with no side effects except for pain relief and help with fatigue.
Avatar n tn Yes it usually is caused by an infectious agent such as a bacteria or virus. So, that if Lamictal can cause meningitis is probably because it may lower your immune system and possibly allow one to get an infection.
