1448748 tn?1312956208 I was taking lamictal for pain and fatigue problems of unknown cause for the past 4 months, I've recently been having blurred vision and headaches in the last three weeks.
Avatar m tn I've been taking lamictal for years and I suddenly got really bad migraines so I went down 25mg. my psychiatrist and physician is suggesting I take depakote with it. this is all new to me and decreasing lamictal has made me a lot more anxious.... if anyone has had any experience with the two together I would greatly appreciate any thoughts ideas or opinions.
Avatar f tn So I decided to ask different psyctrist for opinion, he said SSRI class is not working for me so he told to try different class because it work well for anxiety. He gave Lamictal, and told me that we r going to increase the dose slowly to avoid rash. Yesterday was my 1st dose of Lamictal and ended up in ER because I had allergic reaction and blister rash in mouth. ER told me to stop the med.

Avatar f tn It was prescribed for headaches and so far its been great. Ive lost 2 lbs. already. It controls appetite etc and keeps you from getting headaches but the sideffects are terrible. I take it right before bed and wake up feeling ok although the first few days felt very droggy. My neurologist wants to take me off it and i am refusing.
Avatar n tn My son, age 26 has been on Lamictal for three years for bipolar. Recently the Doctor moved the dosage up to 300 mg. Several months after that he started experiencing migraine headaches. Since then he has been to 4 Neurologists, had two MRI's, a Lumbar Puncture, a Blood patch from the lumbar puncture. He has had Toradol injections, Imitrex injections, been on all types of pain meds. The first MRI showed a cholesterol granduloma in his peatrous appex.
Avatar m tn I am taking Lamictal, Zoloft, Ativan and Wellbutrin for BP II and PTSD. I am having memory issues that are bothering me. Maybe since my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's this year (he's 78). Has anyone else had issues with memory while on these medications?
Avatar f tn I had been doing so well on the lamictal and cymbalta that I thought I had no need for psychiatrist for the last 10 months or so. Now, bam, I need one and who wants to start with a patient that already has SJS. When I had dbl couverage insurance I could get in anywhere. (least of problems) 4. I've seen, neurologist, internal med.
Avatar n tn I was put on lamictal for mania because I cannot take any of the traditional mania meds. Lamictal worked for me but I had side effects and had to stop it. Your dr is just following new medication lists.
Avatar f tn I have been treated for tension headaches and migraines since 2009. I was diagnosed with JME when I was 13. I'm currently on 150 topamax and 500 lamictal for seizures. I have tried antimigraines, analgesics, muscle relaxants, nonsteroidal-anti-inflammatory and steroids, ssnri antidepressants and obviously acetaminophen and aspirin for headaches . I have one every single day but the severity of it varies. Within the past few days I have noticed slight shaking and weakness in my hands.
Avatar n tn m sure there are ones specific to Lamictal but there are for any medication. Dizziness and nausea can happen with Lamictal and did with me but I got used to them more so then Depakoate and Lithium that caused vomiting for me.
Avatar f tn Then my neurologist tells me i need to get off Topomax and get on Lamictal. When the depression hit bad the headaches got bad again so i started taking the topomax and side effects vanished. I loved topomax and now they tell me to get rid of it. So today i took the first Lamictal 25 mg and will take another lamictal 25 mg at night with seroquel but i still want to keep taking the topomax and want to know if anyone had done this combo.
Avatar f tn I am very happy with the treatment so far, but today, I met with a Board Certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner who specializes in medications for anxiety and PTSD. She took a thorough medical history, spent over 3 hours gathering an immense amount of pertinent information. After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety.
644988 tn?1236364548 Hi, hoping for some answers from anyone with insight. I've had a relapsing/recurring depression which has never really resolved since a major bout 3 yrs ago. My p.doc feels that a mood stabiliser is needed and talked about either Lamictal or Lithium... I was scared by the sound of Lithium so went for Lamictal but now I read how many weeks it'll take to build up to a useful dose and I'm not sure I can wait that long.... any thoughts?
574118 tn?1305135284 From your posts it seems that you have been on Lamictal for awhile, adverse symptoms usually appear right away. I am on 400mg/day of Lamictal, I have no side effects. I started on 200mg/day without any side effects. Anyway, I'm sure you posted this for ILADVOCATE, so I'll stop! He is very knowledgeable, and may know about this.
Avatar m tn A few weeks ago, she had a seizure-like episode at work. She was talking to a co-worker, and the co-worker said that Lindsey look like she was in a daze, then stiffened up & started posturing and then she fell. After falling, she hit her head and had to get 2 staples. She was unconscious before she fell and has no recollection of the episode. Co-workers say she woke up at her office and was asked if she new where she was.
1116472 tn?1260075052 I have been prescribed Lamictal (taking the generic Lamotrigine) for about 3 years now for my bipolar disorder alone. I started with 25 or 50 mg to see if I'd be allegoric and develop the rash that rarely happens but can be severe. My body didn't reacted poorly to it (my mother also took it before me and was ok as well) and I was moved to 100 mg then 150 mg and now have been on 200 mg for a year and a half.
Avatar f tn Hi. I just started taking lamictal 25 mg twice daily on Monday. I'm already on lithium, seroquel, viibryd, and klonopin. By Wednesday I started having headaches, stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea. Does this go away or does it mean I'm going to have to go off it? Thanks.
1744581 tn?1311302411 hmmm. i've been on lamictal since the april 2011 & it has worked wonders for me. i am on the lowest dosage (100 mg/day). maybe i could discuss going down to 75 mg/day w/ my dr. at this pt i do not want come off it. but possibly in the future. i don't take klopin a lot. i've had the same bottle w/ 30 pills the april.
