Avatar n tn I added another 100 mg of lamictal last night and later this morning. I have staring spells and am prone to seizures at times but I have never felt so foggy and sort of dizzy and out of it. I have schizophrenia and my family doctor thinks it is anxiety. I recently had blood work taken but I am not sure if they regularly test for tia or an impending stroke. The sensations went away after an hour or so. Is this a precursor of something to come or could it be a seizure or anxiety?
Avatar f tn I was on Lamictal previously (Epilem before that) and began the transition approx 2 months ago. I was building the topamax up and lowering the lamictal down. Now I am just on the topamax. The side affects seem quite scary to me, severe dizziness and very off balance, I am always tired and have tingling in the hands and feet. I seem loss for words and confused. Will these side affects deteriorate over the a certain amount of time? It is difficult when I have to go to work and live everyday life.
Avatar m tn Has anyone ever been on Lithium and Lamictal at the same time? If so how did it work out? Yes I know everyone reacts differently. I am currently on -1350mg Lithium Carb ER -Klonpin 1mg X up 6 per day -Adderall 20mg X 2 per day I was on Celxa 40mg for about 4 months and was not good for me. Made me mad, no patinces, irrtable, ect. I would like to try Lamictal for BiPolar Depression?
Avatar n tn So my doc took me off the Lamictal, starting last night. He said Lamictal has a half live of 24 hours, meaning every 24 hours the amount of Lamictal in your sytem dissipates by one half of what was present the previous day. If that is true, wouldnt this clear up fast? Has this happened to anyone else on Lamictal?? Could it be something else? Infection? Virus? This has me worried. Any information would be most appreciated.
Avatar f tn I am on Lamictal 150 mg. I just reached this dosage yesterday. For the past two weeks as I have slowly increased dosage, I noticed that my hands, lips, and eyes were swollen. I am also having allergy-like nasal problems. This morning, my eyes were almost swollen shut. Could I be allergic to this drug? All I was warned about by my psychiatrist was a severe rash.
Avatar f tn I have been on low dose of abilify since jan 09...
Avatar m tn A few weeks ago, she had a seizure-like episode at work. She was talking to a co-worker, and the co-worker said that Lindsey look like she was in a daze, then stiffened up & started posturing and then she fell. After falling, she hit her head and had to get 2 staples. She was unconscious before she fell and has no recollection of the episode. Co-workers say she woke up at her office and was asked if she new where she was.
Avatar f tn Hi Everyone! I recently posted that I had been increased to 400 mg of Lamictal, going from 200 mg. To say that was a bad idea is an understatement! One day, out of the blue, I literally couldn't use my legs! My brain would say walk but the message did not register in my legs. Trouble is, it wouldn't last all day so the first time I thought, well maybe, I had been given too much anthesia when I had dental surgery, so I shrugged it off.
Avatar f tn What is your actual diagnosis? Lamictal is an odd choice of med if you're treating just depression and an anxiety disorder. Lamictal is typically prescribed for people with bi-polar disorder, which is a COMPLETELY different animal. Besides the Celexa and Lamictal, what other meds have you tried? Are you in therapy? It's hard to say if the itching is just a side effect or if it's related to an adverse reaction. Most allergic reactions would present with a rash.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm understand your feelings. Not quite a year ago I got the same news. I am currently on Lamictal which is a newer drug but has been known to be a "lighter" drug if that makes sense. Doing some research on my own and comparing Lamictal with other anti-seizure meds, the side effects seem to be a bit less.
Avatar f tn ve been with her and she seems to be very melancholy and also short fused over the many situations. She weighs 100 pounds and is 20 years old. She began with Lamictal, which she worked well with, other than fatigue, but she got a rash of ringworm and the doctor took her off it immediately. He didn't know for sure whether the ringworm was incited by the Lamictal. Now she's on keppra. Could it be that we should add an antidepressant to her regiment?
Avatar f tn Here's a very brief summary of my symptoms: * tingling/numbness/burning in hands and feet * memory loss/problems with thought process..cant remember how to fold a shirt.. insisting "cat" is spelled "TAC" + many other examples * blacked out while driving once..a month ago * headaches..some very short and intense * recent instances of double vision * constipation or diahhrea..rarely in between * fatigue * can never get enough sleep..
Avatar m tn they were testing her for MS. She is experiencing facial numbness, dizziness, blurred vision, muscle weakness, tremors...and a few other symptoms as well. she has an appointment in almost 8 months with the neurologist. I know this is not for diagnostics on here, thats why we are seeing a number of doctors. Her symptoms have been progressing rapidly over the past year or so, would MS be off the table here and if so, what else causes these kinds of symptoms?
Avatar f tn I ended up in the ER with a MAJOR panic attack. I am having all of the side effects, dizziness, flu-like symptoms also. When I began weaning from 225mg Effexor I began 20mg of Prozac which I had taken several years ago. I was 3 weeks into the prozac when all of these symptoms came on. Does that mean that the Prozac isnt working bc I had such a big panic attack. I have had 3 in the last 3 days and am living in fear of the next one. Is it the Effexor withdrawl? Is the Prozac not working?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Celexa consistantly since it came out in 1998. I am also currently taking Lamictal 20mg. I just ran out of meds again this will be the third night without either and I am not feeling well. I feel nauseous and irritable. I feel sluggish and groggy, and i know after 3 days it gets VERY BAD. I am trying to see if all these things are symptoms of withdrawal or is it all in my head because I know I should have gotten the scripts filled by now.
1011826 tn?1274492712 Hi Everyone! For those of you on or who have tried Lamictal, did you ever have constant or near constant spasms, shakiness, dizziness, and loss of balance? I am on the starter pack right now, in the last week, so I was on 50 mg for the past 2 weeks and last night took my first 100 mg dose. Today I woke up-barely- and felt all of the above, which have been continuing now for the past 2 hours. I am a bit worried and wonder if I should call the doc.
Avatar f tn Hi, I would have to do some research on a lamictal tegretal study. I'm not sure whether lamictal is licensed in the UK, something else I shall have to look into.
Avatar m tn I have been on Lamictal for years for Bipolar Disorder. Just recently, I have been having really strange dreams, and at some point, it always turns into a nightmare. It doesn't always stay bad, but at some point during the night, I wake up sweating. And its not just an I'm hot sweating, its like I wake up with my clothes wet sweating. I'm usually not hot, but I have to kick off my blanket to try and get my body heat back down.
Avatar f tn My doc started me on lamictal, with 25mg/day and gradually working up. I'm now on 50 mg/day and tomorrow will go to 100mg, then a week later to my maintenance dose of 200mg/day. That seems like an awfully high dose to me. I'm feeling a lot better now on just the 50 mg -- why do I need to keep upping the dose? I don't see my doc for another month so that's why I'm posting the question here, to get other opinions before I go to see him.
925572 tn?1246540031 t think that is the cause. The main side effects I suffer from when using Lamictal are dizziness and fatigue. I take 400mg every night and it helps with the fatigue during the day, but I've just gotten used to not being able to walk in a straight line. I don't get too many episodes of vertigo.
Avatar m tn Since the fall, I have experienced facial spasms, bad headaches, left eye pain, memory problems, dizziness, confusion, and neck pain located at the top of my neck. The original doctor that has seen me took an x-ray of the neck and found an abnormality of the C-1 vertabrae, extending forward unnaturally. This prompted the doctor to have me transported to a local trauma center by ambulance. A CT scan was done with no abnormalites.
