I take 200 mg of Lamictal daily. 20 mg of Paxil daily and several other medications that are heart related. My job has been extremely demanding lately and a couple of times I accidentally forgot to take my meds. I have been inthese meds for sever all years. By mid day I had the shakes and it was very hard for me to concentrate. It led me to the conclusion that something I take is physically addictive. I skipped the Paxil one day and didn't have any issues.
I was diagnosed as Bipolar II after having been treated marginally for social anxiety and depression for 15 years. I withdrew from Paxil. I am slowly weaning from Klonopine while adding Lamictal. My beginning dose for one week was 25mg. This week, I am on 50mg. My racing thoughts have diminished as have confusion and rapid speech. I can't believe I am saying this, but I think I am too happy. I worry that I am having mania. I have trouble controlling my laughter in public.
I have an idopathic seizure disorder for 35 years without seizure for 28 years. I have never had an abnormal EEG, CAT, CT, MRI or PET of the Brain.
I was on Dilantin for over 30 years and transitioned to Lamictal 4 months ago however developed rash and had to be dc'd.
I have been on small dose of Klonopin and Paxil 37.
I actually just had a related converasation with my Psychiatrist about Wellbutrin and Paxil. We were just talking about anti-depressants, and he mentioned that Paxil (and other similar ADs) are more likely to send someone manic than Wellbutrin. Those weren't his exact words, but rather my take on what he said to me about the comparison.

I have previously been on Paxil, Prozac, and Lexapro. I relapsed while on Lexapro and my doc started me on Effexor and Lamictal. The effexor was horrible for me, I felt awful and my blood pressure skyrocketed. The Lamictal is supposed to be a mood stabilizer. I am taking 200mg daily. My doc weaned me from Effexor and put me back on prozac 20mg (I stopped it several years back because it was making me extremely irritable). The prozac does not seem to be working like it did before.
It seemed like I had my anxiety under control with Bupropion and lamictal but never quite cleared up the depression. So now Paxil. It has been 10 days at 20 mg.
I did have a few headaches and have not had a libido in a while so I wont notice this.Just wondering aboun the increase in anxiety.

Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working? Did anyone started feeling normal and had their old life back? Did anyone felt the itching, and how long it lasted? I am very worried, i need this med to be working for me soon because i going through very tough time in my relationship. If anyone know anything about it, pleaselet me know. It willbe veryhelpful.
Hello. Those sound like high initial doses in my non professional opinion, I'm on 150mg effexor and 100mg lamictal, and when I ran out of effexor for 4 days I thought I was losing my mind. It is possible that the meds have lost some of their effectiveness, but if you have only been off them for a few days, you may still go through withdrawal. Its always best to taper off these meds.
I was recently dx'ed with type 2 bipolar disorder and, am now on 20mgs of paxil and, 100mgs of lamictal. It has help the suicide feelings I was having, but am still very depressed at night. I have alot of medical issues besides this and, know this is part of the reason for the depression. Is there anythign else I can try to ease up on the depression. I am going to a psychiatrist for meds and will have my first session with a psycologist next week. What else can I do?
I have been taking paxil for about a month. The first couple days I first started taking it I had a panic attack and then a few hours later a felt very good. Then eventually my moods were just more calm, relaxed and stable. This past week I have been experiencing some bad symptoms. I have been having night terrors, I twitch and have tremors in the day time, I feel extreme fatigue, anxiety, muscle weakness and stiff. I have this weird sensation throughout my body.
I currently am on Paxil and want to go off due to all the problems I am having. I have Zanex and take it only for special problems that may seem to be coming on ie: Panic Attacks
I would like to go off the paxil cold turkey will the Zanex help me through if used sparangly? Also I am on 12.5 I have reduced my dosage on my own to ween myself off of this. But I am scared because I don't want to continue to lock myself away and have no interaction with my kids and husband.
I was put on 200mg Lamictal 2 months ago, and my doc is upping my dose to 400mg. I have been extremely depressed the last few of weeks and can't get out of it, which is the reason she upped it, since it is supposed to help w/ depression also. What is the max therapeutic dose that anyone knows of? Has anyone ever taken that high of a dose and what were the effects? I'm also on Topamax for migraines. Those are the ONLY medications I am taking.
The Lamictal does seem to be working though.
I have been on and off Paxil for 5 years now. I started on CR low dose, now at 30mg no cr. My body is used to it... and it doesnt help me very much anymore-although it is better than being with out any medication at all. Soon I will be getting re-evaluated and I know they're going to ask me to wean off it. I am really scared, because I know the few times I have lapsed in dose, it has been absolutely horrible. Any advice? Any info? Everything I find online is abstract and not really helpful.
