I was taking Bupropion and Lamictal, and switched to Effexor. I have been on Effxor for three weeks. I have had the worst fatigue I have ever felt. So now I am unsure if it was coming off the Lamictal or if it was the Effexor. I am going to stop the Effexor, but I don't know if I should go back on just the Lamictal, The lamictal When I first started taking it, up to 200 mg worked fairly well.
I guess my question is, is , has this kind of fatigue been know to be a side effect with Effexor?
I have anxiety. I feel confused and uncoordinated. Am I out of the red zone. My heart rate for the next whole day after the attempt was only 30 beats per min. My blood preesure was low, but not too dangerously low. My heart rate is back past 60 beats per minute. How long will it take for all of this medication to get out of my system? Could I have damaged anyting internally? I'm scared to go the doctor.
Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working? Did anyone started feeling normal and had their old life back? Did anyone felt the itching, and how long it lasted? I am very worried, i need this med to be working for me soon because i going through very tough time in my relationship. If anyone know anything about it, pleaselet me know. It willbe veryhelpful.
One week ago a psychiatrist put me on 300mg Lamictal pm (without titration), 20mg Geodon pm, 1mg Intuniv pm, 10mg Ambien pm, 15mg Focalin am, and 40mg Vyvanse am for ADHD and bipolar. Prior this regimen I wasn't on any medications. Today I had to call an amulance as my resting pulse shot up to 140bpm and my blood pressure went up to 166/90. I thought I was going to die. As well, my lymph nodes are swollen and a bleeding rash has started to form on my hand.
Personaly, I take abilify and lamictal. They are both mood stabilizers and they help me with sleeping, racing thoughts, anxiety, and they seem to make my mood swings not last as long. I still have some problems with depression and agitation, but overall I am doing better. I hope you find the right medication for you!
the serquil was on for 2 yrs was a good med all around till it made my heart rate rocket..then was on lithiem 300 mgs twice aday then went to 900 mgs cuz the 600 mgs wasent getting me down..then in 1 month my serum levels went toxic it was 3..toxic level has everyone knows is 1.2..was in icu for 3 days..i had a very bad experience on it!!!!!!!!!! belive me...so this is making me very afaid of trying anything else!!!!!!!! but im going to have to take something for this sooner or later....
I was going to take the Lamictal with the Geodon, and and only take the Geodon long enough to get me to the theraputic dose of lamictal. However, the Geodon made me really hyper and irritable (at only 20 mg), and gave me a ravenous appetite. So now I'm trying a very small dose of seroquel with the Lamictal.
And yes, the dr. I'm seeing is a psychatrist who specialises in eating disorders. I love my family doc.
I have been seizure free for a year! They have taken me off of Depakote (used to take 250 mg x 9 a day)..and Lamictal (used to take 100 mg x 5 a day). The difference is AMAZING. I have a memory now! Happier, eatting a lot less! I've lost 60 lbs since Sept.
The great fact is I am beginning to FEEL emotions again. It has been 8 LONG years since I began the med rollercoaster.
I am shaking tremendously less.

July of last year I had a daughter born with several holes in her heart, VSD, and aortic coratation of the aorta. Since than she has had two open heart surgeries and nothing genetically was found worng. I was taking lamictal 200mg and vyvanse 70mg. I found out I was pregnant Nov 2010 stopped the vyvanse the very next day, but was told to continue taking lamictal. The doctors say there aren't studies that prove lamictal causes birth defect and there aren't studies that say it won't.
Is this likely a symptom of either the hypomanic episode or the lexapro use? Since, has switched back to low-dose Zoloft and low-dose Lamictal for mood stabilization, and is doing very well. Supposed "possible emergence of bi-polar disorder" has been re-diagnosed as drug-emergent hypomanic episode.
Any insight appreciated.

I think you already gave yourself your own answer........no food, caffeine, stress and a dentist appt.? Ouch!!! Keep an eye on it and my heart doc always says if you can feel your heart listen to it and if you need to make the call. Atypically we shouldn't ever feel our hearts unless we stress them thru exercise or the post you made above....you sound like a normal human to me and a lucky lucky person but......
The specific reaction to Lamictal is called Stephen's Johnson syndrome and it is a rare and dangerous allergic reaction to it. When that happens if a psychiatrist or doctor diagnoses it they will stop the Lamictal. There are some other mood stabilizers and medications in general that can cause this reaction but many don't such as lithium and most others. That side effect is specific to Lamictal and that's why it has to be raised at a specific titrated rate as mandated by the FDA.
Are they in the process of transferring you from one medication to another? Lamictal requires a very slow titration rate but only a psychiatrist would understand the clinical specifics and
how they apply. You can ask your psychiatrist more about specific concerns as regards any treatment change and adjustment.
