Avatar n tn If the blood pressure drop is significant consult your physician as to whether you can lower the dose of your beta-blocker. These days beta blockers are not the drug of choice for high blood pressure (there are exceptions). The drugs of choice are ACE inhibiters, starting with Lisinopril and if that has side effects, (usually coughing) go to Losartan.
5851092 tn?1404133464 The benefits of L-arginine are many, however when it comes to irregular heartbeats, also known as arrhythmia, L-arginine is a wonder supplement. Quite a lot of research has been committed to the benefits of L-arginine in relation to high blood pressure, arterial blockage, atherosclerosis, peripheral artery disease, and heart attacks and stroke. Considering all of these conditions stem from blood circulation, it stands to reason that L-arginine would have great benefits for arrhythmia as well.
Avatar m tn We would like to develop a new vitamin daily supplement for adults and children, where we will include amino acid L-arginine and L-citrulline and major antioxidants for better cardiovascular health for everyone. Heart disease may relate to an older age but most of cardiovascular diseases develop from childhood, so to prevent the death of over 12000 Danes annually, we have to introduce this new supplement as soon as possible as a best source to protect our heart.
Avatar n tn Although some studies suggest that L-arginine may benefit certain health conditions, other research shows that L-arginine may have harmful effects on some individuals. A large body of data suggests that NO actually promotes tumor progression. L Citrulline, like arginine, it can convert into nitric oxide NO. Be careful!!
Avatar m tn If so, is the contraindication just for that day? In other words, would I be safe if I did not take L-Arginine on the day I took Viagra? Or, do I have to stop taking L-Arginine completely if I am going to occasionally take Viagra (i.e. take Viagra once a week)? Thank you for your response.
777517 tn?1235660859 As previously stated control any high blood pressure. If you are a smoker, stop smoking. Maintain your ideal weight and eat a healthy diet....avoid salty food, don't add salt to food and avoid foods high in fat and cholesterol. Exercise according to your health care provider's instructions...lifting heavy weights may be avoided and not included in any exercise routine. Get enough rest and learn to use relaxation methods to help reduce stress.

1703392 tn?1307450500 L-arginine (often used for increased blood flow for weight lifting/muscle building) has a few potential concerns for those who have experienced a heart attack, so as with any personal experimentation, starting with low dosage is probably prudent. Since both are amino acids, and are present in several natural sources for consumption, I consider both to be very safe.

Avatar f tn 110/70 Heart Rate 72. When walking up 15 steps the heart rate will go up to 110-120. My normal heart rate is around 50 and my normal blood pressure is around 115/75. The Doctor informed me that my condition could not be fixed. I was a runner and did light weight training. I could only walk on the treadmill now and I do light weight training. I stop running because of extreme upper thigh pain. I do have small vessel spasms in the small coronary arteries without the disease.

Avatar f tn t really make too much of a difference for the most part. The lysine/arginine herpes diet never held up outside of the test tube. The only study that showed any significant results at all was with the 1gm 3x/day dose. That said it still can't even begin to hold a candle to the results you get with oral antivirals. You can treat your herpes with acyclovir suppressively for about $12/month if you shop around for prices and are in the US.

915119 tn?1341948989 High blood pressure can be dangerous if its not monitored, but if I were you I would start drinking lots of water and increase your protein intake- I'm talking so much protein you can't stand it. I was struggling with dizziness and actually low blood pressure, but protein shakes did the trick for me in combination with constant meat consumption. If that doesn't help after a few days and you haven't gone into labor, talk to your doctor again.
Avatar n tn Over the years I have tried numerous medications, all sorts of pain medications and my high tolerance for them makes it very difficult to find one that will help ease my pain. I am allergic to Neurontin, so I can't take that. I have tried therapy and exercise, but whenever I try to use the leg too much, I get unbearable nerve pain. My doctor recently gave me a nerve block but it had the opposite reaction, and I'm due to see him again in a week.
