L arginine and blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about L arginine and blood pressure

l-arginine

Avatar n tn Of course you should have a home meter and check your blood pressure before and after starting with this substance, just to know the effect. The effect is not long lasting, which is one of the reasons L-Arginine is not recommended as a first line treatment for elevated blood pressure.
Avatar m tn Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine?
Avatar f tn So if you have a problem with either high blood pressure or high cholesterol i really recommend that you try L-arginine plus at least once and see what it can do for you so check it out--bit.
Avatar n tn I have been taking L-arginine, L-citrulline, along with Alpha Lipoic acid and fish oil to prevent heart disease. My doctor told me to take aspirin. I exercise 4 times per week and have lost 10 lbs. Recently I have been having frequent nosebleeds. I cut back on the dosage of aspirin but still have nose bleeds although not as often. I don't know if the combination of supplements is the cause of the nosebleeds.
Avatar f tn However, another doctor told me I should not take it because I have an autoimmune disease (Sjogren) and L-Arginine would aggravate my condition. I am not sure whom should I follow. Have anyone aware of any research related to L-Arginine and auto immune problem? Many thanks!
Avatar m tn Is there any correlation between biliary dyskinesia and L-arginine? I heard L-arginine affects the sphincter of the oddi, which is the cause to my biliary dyskinesia if I'm not mistaken. Does the L-arginine help or hurt? Or is it neutral?
1703392 tn?1307450500 I found an interesting article regarding taking taurine and l-arginine (amino acid) supplements for eliminating PVCs. If you google "taurine for pvcs" there are some interesting stories. http://george-eby-research.com/html/taurine-l-arginine-arrhythmias.pdf Anyone out there suffering from benign pvcs/pacs try this?
Avatar m tn My blood tests were normal. Blood pressure is normal, Heart is good. CT scan of head is good. My Doctor could not find a reason for that. I am approaching 57 years. Not on any medication. Feel tired too, perhaps with the age. Can anybody in the medical community help me find reason with the above symptoms, please. Thank you.
Avatar n tn L-Arginine and L-Citrulline are quite effective in restoring sexual ability in a certain universe of patients, specifically those with diabetic neuropathy. You need to take at least 2-3 grams of L-Arginine for an effect. Purchase it in quantitities at health food stores.
777517 tn?1235660859 ) Has anyone read up on the supplements L-Arginine and CoQ-10? Just came across a book by Stephen Sinatra, MD (cardiologist) who talks about the benefits of L-Arginine as a vasodilator and was wondering if anyone had personal experience using these supplements.
Avatar f tn I have a question from the opposite angle.. I had been told l- arginine would be of help releasing nitric oxide in the blood to help with male erection/orgasm ..however, that arginine shouldn't be taken by those with hsv1/2 because it can provoke an outbreak. Can you debunk this ? I would love to take arginine if it can help at all !
Avatar m tn Asian ginseng is considered safe but can raise blood pressure and cause irritability and insomnia in some people. Follow the dosage on the package, and give it a six to eight-week trial to see what it can do.
Avatar m tn I take a multi vitamin as well as L-Arginine, Zinc and Saw Palmetto. I was wondering if anyone has any concrete evidence that the L-Arginine especially has any negative effects on my condition (causes/exacerbates) breakouts etc. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible. I like taking the L-arginine for the muscle building properties but I am willing to stop taking it if it makes my HPV worse.
Avatar n tn L-Arginine is the best and it also boosts the level of Creatine which helps with weight loss, exercise, and erections and blood pressure. Most of the effective trials though were done with 3 to 7 grams daily. The higher treatment (7 on up) was associated with physical problems mainly liver. But I think some experiments were done with a daily 3 G dose and 5gram dose on days you expected sexual activity &/or 1 hour before activity alongside a yohimbe.
Avatar m tn citrulline is said to be better to rise blood levels of arginine but for now i m trying l arginine only and waiting to see if it has any effect on hbsag or alt levels
Avatar m tn & one thing that i understand from the report is: the sequential therapy facilitate the T-cell function to word the Hbsag clearance fast. Does this mean adding L-Arginine to our Nuc's helps more to facilitate to the Hbsag clearance? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hi. I take quite a bit of meds everyday for my blood pressure and anxiety. My list is Lisinopril 40 mg, Amlodipine 10 mg, Clonidine .1 mg, labetalol 300 mg. All once a day except for my Clonidine which is twice a day. I have an erectile dysfunction issue that I would like to correct. Is there any medications I could take that will not kill me that will go along with what I take everyday?
Avatar f tn Oz has to say about high blood pressure. I think he would have you take L-arginine and other things rather than starting a BP med.
Avatar m tn All the searches I have done related to this inform me of a diet high in L-Lysine and low in L-Arginine to help treat herpes, which I do not have. I am currently undergoing cryotherapy for my breakouts because the Aldera cream irritates me too much. I also currently use vitamin E liquid topically and have been trying to live as healthy a life style as possible (quit smoking, drinking and eating healthier).

Avatar m tn Glad to know you haven’t given up on sex at 74 - I’m 69 & no plans to give it up anytime soon! Now a Q: Does this ED occur when having partnered sex? If you are able to get good erections by yourself, that’s a sign there’s not a physical prblm. If it’s only occurring during partner sex, it could be just ‘performance anxiety’. Obviously, at 74, you may not have a willing partner, so it’s understandable to take care of your needs on your own.
