He was not active and was lazy so far, he is asking everyone that how long he will be alive ;). Avatar m tn Irrespective, assuming type 2 diabetes, the treatment will be losing weight if overweight, cutting carbs (particularly sugar, grains, starches - look into low carb / ketogenic diet), exercise, and medications if the previous lifestyle approaches are not sufficient. You can do this.
Avatar f tn Hello, given your age and your weight, have you been tested for type 1 diabetes? Testing for this involves testing c-peptide, insulin levels, and for antibodies. Please ask your doctor about this, particularly if the medications you have been given seem not to be working very well. Diabetes is surely a shock diagnoses. But it can be manageable. I suggest you look into low carb / ketogenic diet. It can be very helpful.

Avatar f tn These also can work well, and reduce blood sugars / requirements for medications. Please do educate yourself well on these. The current trend for ketogenic diet is limit carbs, adequate protein and enough healthy fats to make up energy requirements.

Avatar n tn s gonna be like that untill someone extraordinary finds a way to completely fix type 2. Type 1 will never be fixed, but one day we may understand why it happens and will be preventable. For now it's either drastically lowering the consumption of carbs, or the drugs. There's no inbetween.

I have been put on every poral pill and it hasn't dropped my BS. MY lst A1C was 7.0, I have been on a very low carb diet for yrs, I think if I weren't my BS would be alot higher all the time.
