He keeps to an exceptionally healthy diet and has an interest in bodybuilding in which he works out 4-5 days a week for about 60-90 mins. He doesn't have problems sleeping and is not stressed out or have any sort of performance anxiety that know of. He takes supplements to aid him which were protien, AAKG, creatine, glutamine and tribulus. About 3 weeks ago he cut it down to just the protien, aakg and glutamine.

I have called her pediatrician and scheduled an appointment to evaluate her, but thought I would ask here as well, because it'll be two weeks before they can see her. Thoughts, insights? Avatar n tn May I suggest you do some research on the Ketogenic Diet. It is a huge lifestyle change, but is totally worth it. Ketogenic lifestyle requires that you cut out almost all carbs. You eat less than 20g of carbs a day, moderate amount of protein 50-100g/day (60-75 is ideal for most people), and 100-150g fat/day. It is a high fat diet that switches your body from using carbs for energy to using fat for energy.

Avatar n tn Given your current situation and your extremely high blood sugars, if you want to reduce then using diet, then a very low carb diet / ketogenic diet would be the way to go. This diet however, may still not be enough to get your sugars down and you may still need insulin / other meds. Please know that if you eat a ketogenic diet you need to follow it strictly.

They might help in some ways, but all have things in them that are just speeding you up or draining water or lying to you, such as the fat burners -- there are no known fat burning supplements. I used to sell bodybuilding supplements in small quantities when I managed health foods stores, and they always sent several magazines with every order. In each magazine, as I said, the same goal will have three or four "experts" disagreeing about the best way to approach the exercise.
