Avatar f tn I have finally decided to try a high fat moderate protein ketogenic diet. I am 80% animal fats, 20% protein I have felt great for seven days in a row! I’ve also given up alcohol, I would recommend getting on, some of the carnivore forums and give it a shot. It’s Been amazing for me.

Avatar m tn Do your mean lifting weights as in weight lifting the sport, or lifting weights as in bodybuilding, I cant think of a reason that bodybuilding should stunt your growth, but that you may just a small build, in that case you may find it hard to build your weight up, and weight lifting could stop you growing by the amount of weights that you lift over your head.

I have called her pediatrician and scheduled an appointment to evaluate her, but thought I would ask here as well, because it'll be two weeks before they can see her. Thoughts, insights? Avatar n tn May I suggest you do some research on the Ketogenic Diet. It is a huge lifestyle change, but is totally worth it. Ketogenic lifestyle requires that you cut out almost all carbs. You eat less than 20g of carbs a day, moderate amount of protein 50-100g/day (60-75 is ideal for most people), and 100-150g fat/day. It is a high fat diet that switches your body from using carbs for energy to using fat for energy.

My last time working out was shoulders; at the end of the that workout I had a bit of a pain on my neck which was familiar to me because I had similar pain in the same workout before many times but it healed on its own. However, the pain that time was extremely worse when I tried to sleep that day. I woke up having stiff neck and couldn't move my head from side to side.

Avatar m tn So I get to the gym quite often at 1 AM or 2 AM and when I can fit it in.I finally broke down and got a pre-workout with creatine in it because I just can't get all my responsibilities done and fit in the gym also. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to make the creatine pre-workout powder a little slower acting or less powerful mix it with more water maybe or I don't know what that's why I'm here asking LOL.

Avatar n tn Given your current situation and your extremely high blood sugars, if you want to reduce then using diet, then a very low carb diet / ketogenic diet would be the way to go. This diet however, may still not be enough to get your sugars down and you may still need insulin / other meds. Please know that if you eat a ketogenic diet you need to follow it strictly.
Tbd Low carb, adequate protein, fat for energy balance - otherwise known as ketogenic of low carb diet. In this diet carbs are typically restricted to 30g or less per day. This diet also includes abundant non-starchy, non-sweet vegetables and plant foods. 2. Very low fat, adequate protein, high carb. This is the plant based and even vegan diet that some are promoting. This diet does not have processed foods.
Avatar m tn t do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.

My mom bought the "Walk at Home" workout DVD today and I'm going to try that one too.. I will let you all know how that goes! Anyways! I just wanted to let everyone know how I was doing.. Avatar n tn I eat a very low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet, also known as the Ketogenic Diet. Daily, I eat approximately 20g carbs MAX. I have about 60-75g protein, and 100-150g fat depending on how hungry I feel that day. Typically I might eat 5 slices of bacon, a fried egg or two, half an avocado with some salsa, sour cream and maybe shredded cheddar cheese, some roasted chicken thighs with skin on, with some roasted or steamed veggies tossed in butter and seasoned.
