Avatar n tn May I suggest you do some research on the Ketogenic Diet. It is a huge lifestyle change, but is totally worth it. Ketogenic lifestyle requires that you cut out almost all carbs. You eat less than 20g of carbs a day, moderate amount of protein 50-100g/day (60-75 is ideal for most people), and 100-150g fat/day. It is a high fat diet that switches your body from using carbs for energy to using fat for energy.

Tbd key words will be low-carb, and keto. If you do look into ketogenic diet, do not use it as an excuse to eat too much fat; if you want to lose weight fat has to be limited to fats that come naturally with the foods that you eat, rather than lots of extra fats being added. There are now many cases where this has happened (you can look up Virta Health a company that tries to guide patients to do this), and there are also many online supportive communities.
Avatar m tn Think you should talk to someone familiar with the Ketogenic diet and see if there could be a relationship. I understand there are a number of hospitals which except this now as a treatment for epilespy. Maybe you could google it on line and find one close to you so you could talk to the people more about this procedure. From what I read it is important to address the problem earily in order to prevent brain damage.
Avatar f tn About three months ago I had my colon removed, as recommend by my surgeon. I had diverticulitis and diverticulosis throughout my colon. I am left with five inches at the rectum, which is attached to the ilium. I can't find a diet for this condition and am having a difficult time finding foods I can tolerate without causing excess bile, runny/watery stools and many trips to the bathroom. All of this is complicated by a chronic irritation of my bottom.

Avatar n tn t find anything yet I am suffering on a daily basis to the point I am scared of eating. The docs said I should change my diet, yet I tried every possible diet: ketogenic, paleo, low-fat, low histamine. Nothing worked! My guess is that it has something to do with the gallbladder (soreness below right rib, neck pain after eating). But they said it's not the gallbladder since I do not have any gallstones. What tests can be done to find a diagnosis? My life is miserable.
