Avatar f tn it always hurts.. its a throbbing pain.
Avatar f tn I have never had such pain before after a tooth extraction. Why are my gum lines feeling sore. It is no where near the tooth extraction?
Avatar f tn You did say you had a deep cavity on one of the upper right teeth. If this cavity has gone deep enough or a dentist has drilled on it (which happened to me) it can compromise the pulp chamber - and that is the worst pain I have ever experienced with a tooth! There has to be a reason for the pain - don't ignore it because (chances are) it will only get worse with time. I wish you the best!
Avatar m tn 5 days after the filling was done, I was still getting a lot of pain from both the tooth and my lower jaw. The tooth that was filled is extremely sensitive to the cold air test and the dentist suspects that there may be an infection in the tooth and has put me on a course of amoxycilin. (This seems plausable as there was a 10 day delay between my old filling breaking and being able to get it fixed). However I am still experiencing terrible pain in my lower jaw.
Avatar f tn Right around the time I went back for the fillings, the pressure/pulling in my neck/jaw had returned and I told the dentist that and after the procedure was given a 2nd round of antibiotics. After a couple days, the pain all went away and I thought everything was fine. Then about 2 weeks after finishing the 2nd course of antibiotics, the pressure/pulling sensations in my lower jaw, ear and neck all came back.
Avatar n tn I had a similar problem months ago on a tooth that had been prepared for a crown. The tooth hadn't quite calmed down before the crown was placed and it hurt more than usual after that. In fact, it popped off when I went back for a cleaning and I made a huge mistake of agreeing to put a stronger cement so then it was impossible to remove it. Then it really started hurting!
Avatar n tn One week ago today I had two relatively deep cavities filled on my back teeth on the left hand side of my mouth - back tooth on top and bottom. The procedure from start to finish, including the novocaine time, took almost two hours. But afterwards I was fine. Came home, ate a few hours later with no pain whatsoever. The last couple days I started to notice some real dull and very minor left jaw pain near the junction of the left jaw bones.
Avatar m tn I had four cavities filled two weeks ago two molars on top and two molars on the bottom. Two days after they were filled I had several pain in my right jaw and gum. I went back and had the bite fixed. But by the weekend, I was in pain again. The dentist called in Tylenol with Codine. By Tuesday I went back to the dentist and they took an xray. They claimed my teeth look fine but since I was in pain in the one back molar they removed that filling and redrilled and filled it.
Avatar m tn I had my decayed tooth extracted 2-3 months ago.I still get excruciating pain at the empty gap of the tooth which was extracted. This isn't everyday, probably, 2-3 times a week. The pain continues to the upper and nearby teeth.I usuallt take a couple of paracetamol and an antibiotic and in 3-4 hours the pain vanishes.I really need help. Thanks.
Avatar m tn The dentist took x-rays and said there was an infection in the tooth next to the root filled one, despite the fact that I have said when I put my finger on the gum over the root filled one it hurts. So in the end after trying anti-biotics and getting to the stage where I couldn't cope anymore I had the tooth removed. Now two weeks after the extraction the pain is so bad I don't feel I can cope anymore, it is a dull throbing pain constantly.
650528 tn?1223993253 Does anyone know how long (approximately) it takes to stop feeling stiffness in the jawbone area after a filling? I had a deep cavity that was filled recently (2nd to last lower right molar) and it hurt like nothing I've ever experienced after the novacaine wore off.
Avatar n tn When the anaesthetic wore of I had the most excruciating pain in the tooth and jaw. I went to my dentists and told him about the pain and he game me amoxycillian 250mg for 5 days and took out filling, re cleaned the tooth and filled it. The pain continued after taking 5 antibiotics and 400mg ibuprofens. Went to A&E early hours of morning pain so bad. Went back to dentists he took out my tooth and said I did not need antibiotics anymore as infection if present will drain out.
Avatar n tn THERE WAS SOME INFECTION, SO I WAS GIVEN AN ANTIBIOTIC, AND WAS PAIN FREE FOR ABOUT A WEEK - WITH THE HELP OF A MILDER PAIN MEDICATION. I WENT BACK AFTER 2 WEEKS FOR A FOLLOW-UP AND THE RESULTS FROM THE BIOPSY OF THAT AREA. IT REVEALED I HAD A BONE INFECTION IN MY JAW BONE. I WAS SENT TO AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE DOCTOR WHO PRESCRIBED IV THERAPY (AT HOME) FOR 6 WEEKS. I DID THIS EXACTLY AS I WAS TOLD. I WAS JUST ABOUT PAIN FREE FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 MONTHS. AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED.
Avatar n tn I had a root canal done 2 weeks Ago I went 2 emerg last fri cause I couldn't handle the pain the roof of my mouth hurt & the right side of my gums I had the righ back tooth done & I get a pain in my jaw & the right side of my neck & like a pain above my ear & under my tounge feels weird 2 & the bottom teeth hurt so bad didnt no if it was the teeth or the gums but very sensitive
Avatar n tn It feels like the tooth is too big for the area. I now have jaw pain when opening mouth and chewing. Tooth is sensitive to touch. Some days are worse than others but always is present. Surrounding teeth have been checked. Have had other root canals with no problems. I am a breast cancer patient. Had chemo and radiation 2 years ago. Currently in remission. No other health problems. Endodontist has suggested I have "another non dental" health problem.
494996 tn?1209551293 the dentist cleaned the tooth out from decay and filled it. every since then i had pain in the join of my jaw and pain in the lower jaw and pain right over my eye. Now i am having pain in my right eye ear. could this be a sign of an sinus infection or could my my gum got infected. I also have pain in my mouth but not in the place where he filled it.
Avatar n tn Hi, I went for cleaning and full mouth x ray and had no problem at all. Dentist said that there is one molar which was not properly filled, it was filled above another filling , so he will clean up that and fill it again and put the crown. But I didn't feel any pain and no cavities. I did the filling only and said I don't need the crown and paid large copay amount. I felt numb for 2.
Avatar n tn I so feel for you, I have now had 4 root canals and crowns thanks to composite fillings. I had many old fillings, and when i replaced the first one i had "phantom" tooth pain, jaw pain. No problem on the tooth itself but they called it TMJ, months later in severe pain and at the ER they said you feel it in your jaw but it's a root. The best endodontist explained how white fillings leak often and cause such pain often reflecting from the tooth but not on it.
Avatar n tn I had a tooth filled, a molar, the very back one on the left side of my jaw. When the dentis gave me a shots to numb the area everything was fine except for one which went into my jaw and I had extreme pain, so bad that I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. After the numbness wore off the aching pain has continued in my Jaw. It is still bothering me, throbing pain, 8 days after this was done. There is no swelling that I can tell, it is in the jaw area, the same area where he gave me the shot.
Avatar n tn I had the same symptoms after my root canal. I was in SEVER pain. I was given a pain reliever and was told to put a heating pad on my jaw joint. The pain was unbearable. I missed three days of work, but the pain finally subsided.
Avatar f tn I have a cavity on my lower first molar, however it isn't located in the center of the tooth, but more to the side--it's hard to describe without seeing it, but it kind of reminds me of how a piece of ice might chip off a glacier. It's created a kind of little scoop on my tooth. I had this cavity filled with silver (amalgam?) over ten years ago but it came out when I was eating a tootsie roll, so I had it filled with white stuff (composite?
Avatar n tn Ooopps! I didn't have a tooth pulled I had a tooth (cavity) filled. Sorry.
