Is mircette good for acne

Common Questions and Answers about Is mircette good for acne

mircette

Avatar m tn ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout. Just some background... I have not used OC previously.
525501 tn?1212432217 m not going to be able to sleep for a while so I thought I would share a bit of info about mircette from drugs.com, This is important to me because I've been having slightly more discharge than normal even though no period. It seems to me that if the medicine effects the mucous lining that might be cause for the increase in discharge...from drugs.com "Mircette contains a combination of female hormones that prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary).
Avatar f tn Thanks ladies. BTW eventhough I haven't been actively ttc like you all, since I thought I was pregnant in March I've been viewing this site every once in a while. I hope and pray all of you have the families you've always wanted. It's such a family environment on here, and that's why so many people feel comfortable with posting. Thanks again. Like you all say to each other *sticky baby dust*....
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
Avatar n tn I just recently had a baby on Sept 5, I have a prescription for birth control but I am not sure when to start taking them. I think the nurse at the hospital told me to start taking them on the third Sunday after the baby, but I am not sure. Can you help me?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I have been on Yaz for over a year and I stopped around 6/13/08. My husband and I have had unprotected sex and for the past 2 weeks I have had tender/swollen breast, went up almost a cup size, very bloated, unexpected nausea that comes and goes. Since Friday I have had very light cramping and pelvic pressure that comes and goes, when I move around they subside. This might sound gross but around 6/25 or so when I woke up I was very wet.
Avatar f tn Do you remember how long the destruction phase of your thyroid took?
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn I've been getting a lot of acne lately because of all these hormones, :( is there any good skin product that really does work at getting rid of acne, dark spots, bit still make your skin smooth?? Btw I have sensitive skin && some acne products make my skin dry :( please help?
Avatar f tn Can anybody help what to do..my face is so itchy and there are so many pimples or like acne comes out.. Ive been in derma but its nothing happen.. What do i need to do with it...
Avatar f tn Seckin and of course how wonderful he is. I also contacted the Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta. I would probably end up staying in either place for about a week and am thinking Atlanta would be less expensive (depending on how much flights cost). Not happy that DC does not have a true endo specialist!! Thanks again - if there are any other suggestions, I am very open to them!!
Avatar f tn Makeup is the worst thing in the world for acne. It is also the main culprit in allergic reactions on the face. Ask any actress...they'll be the first to tell you how bad their acne is from the makeup that they have to wear...so they plaster even more on to hide it...sad but true. Did you give each of the above acne methods a fair chance to work? In other words, did you try them each for at least 3 weeks without wearing makeup on top?
7381903 tn?1391464888 It will go away on its own. This is normal for babies...but I heard that breast milk can help clear it up. I wouldn't put anything else on the baby's face because the skin is so delicate. Don't worry, about all babies go through this.
Avatar n tn t Help even proactive made it worst for me. To get rid IF acne is doing nothing. Its the same as baby acne leav the acne!!!
Avatar f tn i'm 18 weeks pregnant and i'd say for the past month month and a half i've had acne like a teenage girl going through puberty all over again. i never had problems with this when i was younger, why now? and any suggestions on how to help it?
Avatar f tn im not due for my period for almost another week. im not really sure what is going on. i havent ever had sex with my boyfriend. i gave him a couple handjobs since my last period and i didnt think he got anything on me. but im afraid now that maybe he did? i dont think that would have gotten me pregnant or anything though. i just dont understand what this brown discharge is? it doesnt smell or anything. and its not heavy. it just comes out every couple hours?
Avatar n tn ve been breaking out around my hairline, across my forehead, nose and cheeks. The acne is red and very small bumps, as if it was irritaton. I thought it might be an allergic raction to a hair product or new facial cleanser but stopping use of these new things hasn't stopped the situation. I've recently started back at the gym and running and sweating a lot and a co-worker of mine said that this is probably the cause.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Any acne medication takes time to act and it is important to stick to particular regime for significant improvement. You should wash your face with a nonirritating, pH-balanced cleanser to decrease inflammation. Avoid scrubbing the face. Do not pop or pick at pimples. A correct nutritional balance and skin care will be helpful. Drink plenty of water every day. Take 7-8 hours of sleep daily. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamin A, zinc and rich in multivitamins.
Avatar n tn I was on Doxy 100mg for about a month for antimalarial reasons, saw a slight improvement in my skin, and was then prescribed Doxy 50mg for acne indefinitely. I’ve been on this for about 3 weeks. I have definitely noticed fewer pimples, but I still have the odd one here and there. I’ve also been using 10% Benzoyl Peroxide gel which I think has worked wonders. I would like to go off Doxy 50mg to see if it is the Doxy or the Benzoyl which has helped my skin.
Avatar m tn Oh and Malasezzia Pityrosporum folliculitis is called "exercise acne", since it is worsened by humidity and sweating (and then not showering as soon as possible). You absolutely MUST shower shortly after exercising.
1900942 tn?1462421460 Ok my face is having its good days and bad...what is something good that will help with my mine issues blackheads and getting my pores smaller...
883279 tn?1244102594 It should be avoided on active acne but is very good for scarring, wrinkles and very dry skin areas. This is known to be good for any sun-damaged or traumatised skin. Remember to give any new skin product at least 2 weeks to show results. Consistency is the key. You will have to wait around 2 to 4 MONTHS to see the best results and from there on it should just keep getting better. A word of warning about any chemical peels, micro-dermabrasion and laser treatements.
Avatar f tn A common treatment for cystic acne is Isotretinoin, which cures most acne in about 90% of patients. In sever cases a course of oral antibiotics are also recommended. After cysts have mostly healed, macules, or "pseudo scars" may form. Macules are red patches of skin, sometimes raised slightly, where cysts used to be, and may resemble cysts in their appearance.
Avatar n tn I just completed the course. My skin is now acne free, so yes it worked for me. The side effects are there, it got worse in the first month or so but then it cleared and now I'm fine. , the dryiness of lips, and eyes. But I used eyedrops and bepanthen for my lips. I think its worth it, it just needs patience and perseverance. I had tried everything else so I had nothing to lose.
Avatar m tn Hi I am a 16 year old white male. About 2-3 weeks ago I discovered a lymph node under my jaw. It seemed quite small (about 1cm). It is non-tender, firm and movable. Being a Hypochondriac I made an appoitment the next day and the doctor had a look at it. He said it was probably just caused by the combination of having severe acne and sinus infection.
Avatar f tn I understand your PDT treatment is for acne and nothing to do with psoriasis, however the point to be taken is that photo-sensitivity is a factor in DM to be taken into serious consideration, before making this decision. Have your dermatologist explain his/her position in detail to give you at least some assurance. Of course there are no guarantees in the medical field, so I understand your need for more input on this.
