i used janumet for my sugar it make me gain weight but it lower my sugar why isnt suppose to make u loose weight

If you could tolerate 1g of met go back on that and add janumet . Met is a good drug, safe, makes your insulin work better, reduces liver dumping sugar. janumet not so much, janumet FOCES the pancreas to put out more insulin. If your pancreas is shot (BG of 20 would indicate that) then your pancreas probably cant put out more insulin.

speak with the radiology department where your MRI is scheduled to see their procedure. Depending on the contrast being used, some will want you to be off any medication with Metformin for 2 days prior and after the procedure. Check in with them to be sure.MRIs are sometimes not included in that group, usually it is concerning CAT scans. In regard to the vision changes: your doctor should specify what kind of vision changes are in question.

Plus you could discuss changing meds. BTW There is a combination pill Janumet that c ombines Metformin and Januvia. This may be helpful to you as well.

It doesn't perform miracles nor does it lower your glucose levels by itself. The key word is "help." Lifestyle change is required. My diabetese medicine was changed from Pioglar + Metformin 500 twice a day to Janumet 50+1000 twice a day in around March 2011. I have since lost about 15 KG and it is still going down @ 1 kg per month. I was happy to reach my ideal weight. However, I do not know how to stop further loss. I am Diabetic, so can not discontinue Metformin. Any suggestion ?

It has been an interesting process, but I think I have finally figured out the medication issues. Here's the lay of the land: 1. I have always been sensitive to medications; they either work for me or the SEs are unbearable. 2. I have never had any luck when I have been placed on the generic brands of medications. NP is a generic Amour. it's made like the old Amour was made before the reformulation,(TO the NEW Amour) it's cheep ask for it , might help, give it a try, most docs/ insurance love it because its a "so-called" generic but really it's a Acella pharmaceuticals, brand /copy of old Amour, works for me.

Yes it matters Janumet is usless for a T1. carbohydrates raise BG ALL carbs raise BG. if your BG is going to high your eating too many carbs *AND OR* you need a mealtime insulin (rapid acting) like novalog or Apedra to counter act the carbs.
