Cipralex is an anti-anxiety pill. Escitalopram belongs to the group of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It works by increasing levels of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. Increased serotonin levels can lead to an improved mood.

although nowadays i feel a bit of anxiety and depression but it is controllable, however my biggest concern is that can we take cipralex for lifetime without losing its results.....

I over think everything. The thing I over think is that I love someone who I stayed with for 6 years, and I loved her SOOOO badly, and so does she. Now, I work overseas and she works in Colorado. I used to spend each and every moment with her when we were together in the states, and now, I'm all alone without even friends. As a result of this, I started to think of her all the time (24/7) and I'm dead serious about this! I feel so horrible. I can't stop thinking of her.

anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.

It sounds to me as if you are just hoping for a simple answer, but you don't have a clear diagnosis and therefore it would be premature to look for a medication. One way to sort this out is to go off of all medications and see what happens , and then make a clear diagnosis before you start treatment...ask your doctor about that approach.

I am sure this is directly due to cipralex even though the side effect is not listed as a common side effect of taking cipralex.

I started having anxiety almost 2 years ago out of the blue. For awhile I was taking xanax or ativan, but I hate prescriptions so I looked for other ways. If you are interested in herbal remedies, passion flower and valerian root are very good to take. I found that when I work out and get exercise I am less likely to have anxiety as well.

These types of medications were never designed to be used for such a purpose. They are designed for people that suffer from Depressive and anxiety dissorders that are the result of Bio-chemical imbalances in the brain that cause severe mood and anxiety dissorders. This fact does not stop most doctors from prescribing these medications to normally functioning individuals that have suffered types of life trama that induce sadness and loss.

I have been to doctors and no one can seem to help me and I am running out of patience with this problem and it is slowly driving me crazy..........I am also on buspar and now back on cipralex...I Had the symptoms before i started buspar and cipralex.

m on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica

I've been on cipralex 20mg for about 1.5 yrs, before that was on 40mgs of celexa.. I'm 37, about 190lbs 5'7".. Anyway my question is, my dr prescribed me ability 2.5mgs that I'm scared to start because of all the scary side effects I've read :-(. I guess I should also let u no that I suffer from severe anxiety/ severe depression disorder.

I have been on Celexa for many many months now and about 6 weeks ago or so my Doc upped it too 40 mg. It is helping but not great, is this as good as it is gonna get and is it maybe time to try something else. I have tried many different ssris and srnis in the past. Hi guys I'm new so please bear with me... I have been in 5mg of cipralex for about 7 months and have decided to come of it as I was feeling pretty good... I was off it 4 8 days (until today when my dr advised me to take a day off a day) after about 4days off it I started feeling very lightheaded / dizzy... Although before going on this med the dr told me they were not addictive... How do I get off these!!

Because wellbutrin is the most stimulating antidepressant out there and is not recommended for those for whom anxiety is a problem. Doctors usually only combine an ssri with wellbutrin if you're having sexual dysfunction or weight gain if anxiety is a problem. Here's what probably happened: you had either a common reaction to antibiotics, or the antibiotics have killed off your beneficial organisms.

Wellbutrin, from what I know of it, does not help much with anxiety. Is the Lexapro helping with your anxiety? If so, this may be a good combo for you. Only your Dr can say for sure though.

I have been taking Escitalopram 10mg (aka Cipralex / Lexapro) for 31 days today. For this past week Ive been having repeated very bad morning anxiety/ morning terror. I wake up in a state of panic, palpitations, difficulty breathing, hot flashes, feeling of extreme terror, and I'm afraid to start my day. This sometimes continues for 3-4 hours and improves gradually if I take my Seroquel 100mg. But some days it continues until I go to bed.

Hi, I'm currently taking 10mg of cipralex for anxiety and panic attacks. I have been taking the cipralex for 3 months. Lately I have been experiencing head spinning before I go to sleep. When I am asleep I am woken up by dizziness when turning. Also just upon waking I seem to get these strange impulses through my body which make the dizziness really bad. The dizziness usually goes away once I am awake and walking about.

hi yes i was taking it for about two years for postnatal depression and anxiety, when i started to feel better i slowly withdrew from it, i had been off it for about 6 months before the anxiety came back and put straight back on the ame medication. It worked really well for me last ime. It ook a few weeks to kick in but it was great after that. But this time it is taking a lot longer and im sure ive read people saying that once youve took it its never the same second time.

Hi guys I was diagnosed with anxiety in may and started taking cipralex... I keep getting shortness of breath my heart feels like its going really fast sometimes ( even when I do not feel overly anxious) has anyone else experienced this my chest gets incredable sore pains in back arms Ect... Is this anxiety or something else ??

Sounds like bad anxiety :( mine can last for weeks as well. I was on cipralex and Wellbutrin for 1 and a half years and then my doc switched me to Effexor for a year which caused more side effects than anything so iv been back on cipralex for about a week, I guess we will see how that goes.
