He then told me that I have panic disorder, general anxiety disorder and social anxiety, he gave me luxtanil to help me sleep and seroxat CR 25 mg (paxil). After reading horror stories of paxil, I decided not to take it so he gave me cipralex (Lexapro) 10 mg and said its safe and helpful and its side effects and withdrawal are much less than paxil. I am still afraid to start the medication to tell you the truth.

anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.

when i was going through switching of medications back in about july/august (i was on one medication from age 8(luvox) and was switching to cipralex) i would get these scary thought. like "what if" thoughts. and i would think "what is the point of life, whyy do we do things day after day, life is one big circle" i told my doctor about this, cuz i was a absolute wreck with these thoughts. and he said i was going through withdrawl.

I was on Cipralex for a year since losing dad and losing my job. had bad anxiety and insomnia.

My went to visit my doctor about my anxiety and sleeping issues and he has put me on Cipralex 10mg dosage a day and also prescribed me 50mg of trazodone to be taken at bedtime to help me sleep. Does anyone take these prescriptions? if so could I please get some feedback on them?

Thanks for the input, I was on prozac last spring, and had an awful reaction, it took a few doses of xanex and ativan to get me out of it, after hours in the ER.. I suffer with anxiety and panic attacks and have for over 20 years. I was on ZOloft for 14 or so years and it pooped out on me the fall of 2013 and ever since looking for the same wonder drug zoloft gave me...

I would give it some time. and don't keep checking your heart rate. Cipralex and this class of drugs are long acting and not something that would just drop your heart rate. But as your stress and anxiety decrease, your heart rate in the resting mode may go back to normal. A resting heart rate of 50 is in the normal range. You are on a low dose. Hope it helps your anxiety/panic. I have found that often anxiety takes a bit higher dose to really work well.

I even went back to the clinic and spoke to the nurse and it helped for a few days and then the thoughts keep on coming back and the what ifs wont leave. Thansk for any advice.

Still felt really anxious in social situations. Now I want to stop taking it and try a different doctor and thats giving me anxiety again! I’ve stopped taking it for a week. So far so good. No stomach problems yet. No major anxiety relapse either (but then again, it didn’t go away so it’s all the same!). Mind you, I’m doing this without any doctor interference which is not advisable I know. But since it’s going good so far, should I keep going or get an appointment ASAP?

I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.

I have been to doctors and no one can seem to help me and I am running out of patience with this problem and it is slowly driving me crazy..........I am also on buspar and now back on cipralex...I Had the symptoms before i started buspar and cipralex.

And, I could see how the presentation of palpitations and migraines would lead the docs to think anxiety, but I still think you should have been referred to a psychiatrist. If I were you, I'd ask for that. In the meantime, ask if it is okay to try some OTC stomach remedies, like the Simethicone, Pepto (which has Simethicone in it), or something similar.

There are some pregnancy safe anxiety pills, and vitamins. Having panic attacks and anxiety that bad can do a number on your body which could probably stress the baby out as well. I'm on cipralex and I'm pregnant as well with bad anxiety.

m on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica

There is no role of Cipralex, unless you are going through depression and anxiety which you can not manage on your own. Please let me know if you have any more queries.

Hi guys I was diagnosed with anxiety in may and started taking cipralex... I keep getting shortness of breath my heart feels like its going really fast sometimes ( even when I do not feel overly anxious) has anyone else experienced this my chest gets incredable sore pains in back arms Ect... Is this anxiety or something else ??

I guess I should also let u no that I suffer from severe anxiety/ severe depression disorder. Plz help and tell me your experiences with the medication and hoping to find someone that suffers the same as me, and takes the same meds lol.. I no it's a long shot..

So do you think panic and fear can be an extra side effect of cipralex and i should increase the above doze of xanax.

I had anxiety and I was on Cipralex 20mg & Zyprexa 5mg I was doing fine. I got a viral infection for which I used leflox 500mg antibiotic 2 times a day. The viral infection got cured but I got anxiety. My doctor has gave me a plan to temper zyprexa as it was giving me brain fog and has added wellburtin SR 150mg. I am asking him to give me some benzodiazepines he does not gives as he says that Cipralex & Wellburtin are enough. He says that give wellburtin 3 weeks to work.

Hi, I'm currently taking 10mg of cipralex for anxiety and panic attacks. I have been taking the cipralex for 3 months. Lately I have been experiencing head spinning before I go to sleep. When I am asleep I am woken up by dizziness when turning. Also just upon waking I seem to get these strange impulses through my body which make the dizziness really bad. The dizziness usually goes away once I am awake and walking about.

These types of medications were never designed to be used for such a purpose. They are designed for people that suffer from Depressive and anxiety dissorders that are the result of Bio-chemical imbalances in the brain that cause severe mood and anxiety dissorders. This fact does not stop most doctors from prescribing these medications to normally functioning individuals that have suffered types of life trama that induce sadness and loss.

As far as the medications go your doctor if he will can order you something like the Xanax that you only take as needed, and do away with the cipralex. I will let you know though that the cipralex is a wonderful medication in treating anxiety and depression but it must be taken daily. The choice of how your medications are taken and what is best for you will depend on your degree of anxiety, and be entirely up to you and your doctor.

I was on cipralex and Wellbutrin for 1 and a half years and then my doc switched me to Effexor for a year which caused more side effects than anything so iv been back on cipralex for about a week, I guess we will see how that goes.

i have an ectopic heartbeat which causes me to have palpitations, but after been anxiety and palpitation free for a year its now back, i take 160mg propnalol a day and 20mg cipralex a day . I have been accepted for CBT but will i help me stop worrying about palpitations? all day everyday i think about them, i hate them, even though i know they cant harm me, also how long should i wait to have the CBT?
