Common Questions and Answers about Is atomoxetine the same as adderall

strattera

Avatar m tn While it covers a lot of ground, there is not a lot aimed at adult ADHD - although, the symptoms are the same at all levels. She also lists a lot of resources that might prove helpful. Frankly, you are on such a high dose of Ritalin - I would think that you need to be very careful how you come off of it. And should do so only under a doctors help. Finally, I don't know what kind of a job that you have, but many times there are ways to compensate for lack of focus.
Avatar f tn I have it extreamly badly, and after a disastor with Rittaline im now on Strattera (atomoxetine, which is not yet licenced in u.k.) is there any other adults out there that have been, like me, misdiagnosed for years because . .. when I was a child a.d.h.d hadent been recognised. Then when I was older it was only recognised in kids, and not in adults?
Avatar m tn * Nonstimulant medication, such as the antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin and generic) or atomoxetine (Strattera), which is not available as a generic.
Avatar f tn I would read the literature to check. Both vyvanse and adderall say you can open the capsule as long as you don’t crush the beads. Hope that’s helpful.
20003388 tn?1515166040 Every time I try a medication that has a reuptake effect on norepeneprhine I get this mild burning sensation on the left side of my chest. So far I have had this happen with Atomoxetine, Venlafaxine, Bupropion and now Nortrypytiline. It isn't anxiety, a panic attack or heartburn, just a dull, moderately uncomfortable, burning sensation. I'm fine with all the SSRI's and medications like Rexulti. It's just the ones that affect NE.
Avatar f tn I have found some information that backs up my suspicion that Adderall is the culprit. It can increase the glucose level in your body, initiating an inflammatory response. This can result in clogged pores and/or constipation which can cause acne or skin issues by reintroducing toxins back into the body. It also releases stress hormones like cortisol which can trigger overproductive sebaceous glands (which morgellons is already doing).
Avatar m tn I was on Strattera for over three years and loved how it helped my concentration (and mood).. I had to go off it because they suspected it was causing my severe constipation and since went on a stimulant. It took three tries with different stimulants to get the right one (the stimulants actually put me to sleep). I found I had lots of energy on Straterra and my world felt "clear".

Avatar f tn ve tried so many different ADD medications and doses before ending up where I am, I agree that Vyvanse does take a while to kick in. Not everyone is the same, so if Adderall works better for you it's not very shocking.
Avatar n tn and in fact Vit B Complex Vit C experts say has the same efficacy as Ritalin, try Fish oil aswell you can google for more information .
990354 tn?1307132886 Hey I am worried about my sister! She is on Vyvanse right now at thiry mgs but does NOT take it daily. Her husband takes twenty mgs of Adderall daily, and sometimes she will take an adderall instead of a vyvanse. Is this safe?? I don't think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? She claims the adderall gives her more energy than the vyvanse so she takes it when she has a night that she is working late and so on.
Avatar f tn t effective like it should be,would I be able to be prescribed vyvance on top of adderall since 120mg/day is the max dose the FDA allows you to be perscribed?
Avatar n tn Hi. I've been under a doctor's and therapist's care for a couple of years dealing with generalized anxiety and mild depression. I've also been fighting fatigue over that time, which still hasn't been ruled out as something physical. In May, my doctor prescribed 20mg of adderall (amphetamines) to take each morning to help fight the fatigue, lethargy and lack of motivation. It had worked very well for a while -- I was able to work regularly and very effectively.
Avatar f tn Hello, As a parent of a child that was on Adderall, as well as myself, I would never recommend Adderall, Ritalin, or any ADHD med that are in the controlled substance catagory. I had the same syptoms as your daughter, along with rapid heart rate, weight loss, and loss of interest in things that I enjoyed prior to starting Adderall. It made my son a zombie, his personality was different, he didn't laugh anymore.
Avatar n tn I woke up this morning doing the same thing as you did, but it didn't feel like there was food stuck to the roof of my mouth. Instead it was more of a combination of phlegm and something that was brown in color. There was a lot of blood but I think that was from my teeth and gums.
Avatar f tn Also, oxy is more soluble and I believe it is a first pass metabolite, meaning it crosses the blood brain barrier after one pass thru the liver, where hydro is metabolized twice by the liver before becoming active. Oxy is much more powerfull than hydro per milligram and has a meaner withdrawel too.
1569985 tn?1328247482 I have taken Phythmol for yrs and all I can say Is I didn't have to start it in a hospital and it is in the same class as Flecainide but i really don't think it is as strong a drug. It helped me stay out of arrhythmia but like all the rest, it eventually becomes pro-arrhythmic and will actually bring on episodes....it may be months...it may be years...but it will happen.
Avatar m tn m going if I continue or if I have already done damage that has not yet been realized. As of now quitting adderall is not an option b/c it is needed for me to continue my work at a level that allows me to succeed. I know if I quit my production (mental capacity to do work) will drop and I can't afford that right now with a wife and child to support. I just hope I'm not caught in a catch 22 where I'm trading off health for production b/c that seems to be the usual case.
Avatar m tn I am not sure where else to post this, but most of the related posts were in this forum. I was prescribed adderall for the past 12 months. I refilled the adderall as intended, often times 6-8 weeks apart. I moved and switched doctors. I had a total colectomy 18 months ago due to a syndrome that causes an increased risk in cancer. This has caused me a ton of anxiety. I gave all of my symptoms to my Dr., and had stopped the adderall well before the appointment. The new Dr.
Avatar f tn I am not positive, but I think that if you find the Adderall is not the problem, then you should consult with a doctor. Swelling usually indicates poor circulation and you need to find out why. I think that trying to move more during the class time will help. At break time, get out and walk. Perhaps, pick a seat in the back of the room so you can get up and move around a bit half way through (I would probably let your instructor know why you are moving).
Avatar m tn As I understand it – it is the job of the Cremaster muscle to control the way the penis and testicles retract, and so obviously this means either the meds are messing with my Hypothalamus in my brain and causing my brain to think my testicles are cold, or they are aggravating my Cremaster muscle and making it constantly contract – lifting the testicles up.
Avatar f tn That happens every night as the adderall leaves your system. Now if the 3 weeks had been used to develop coping skills, that would maybe have made sense. But even then, once the dose dropped, it probably wasn't working for him anyway. I also wonder why his doctor took him off the Adderall. Taking medical marijuana has no side effects on or from Adderall. I am guessing that the reason he was taking the MJ might have more to do with it.
Avatar n tn The most common side effects I've heard or seen in others is an increase in water retention, and feelings of dehydration. Creatine draws water from the body into the muscles and can make them appear slightly bloated. This will diminish once you've stopped taking the supplement, as will some of the weight you've gained. I recommend adopting a better diet for optimal muscle growth. There are plenty of meal plans made for bodybuilders on the net.
