Avatar n tn Can you please advise if I am taking high blood pressure medication (irbesartan) and Altorvastatin for high cholesteron and I am also taking Tamoxafin for breast cancer (about to come off this drug), is it adviseable to take Leptin Cocoa for health weight loss or would this affect the medications?
Avatar n tn org/urology/erectile-dysfunction-ed/20537) You posted in the Prostate Cancer forum. Have you had prostate cancer? That could certainly be a factor, or the treatment of it could be. The meds you take have been shown to help some men with ED, but a lot depends on the cause of it. If your ED is being caused by high blood pressure or thyroid issues, it could help. Have you spoken with your doctor about it yet? Are your blood pressure and thyroid being monitored?
Avatar m tn Your father has occluded coronary vessels (ischemia) and apparently high blood pressure being treated with irbesartan and lasix is a diuretic. Clopidogrel is an anti-platelet medication to prevent clots. The reduced ejection fraction of 16% may be causing fluid buildup in the lungs and peripherals (arms and legs). I had an EF below 29% and was diagnosed with congested heart faiure...congestion was due to fluids in the lungs.
Avatar n tn m currently taking Irbesartan every morning and is now controlled well. I enjoy traveling in hot conditions, some days can be up to 39 degrees. Can my blood pressure medication stand such heat if I was to say just put it in my wallet? I'm always traveling to different places and don't always have access to a fridge or ice to take on hand. If not, are there any other heat resistance BP medication i can try?
Avatar n tn My Dr. put me on lowest dose of Losartan and I got joint pain in my thumbs and then in a knee so I weaned myself off but my BP was very high (systolic) during visit. He puts me on Irbesartan, SAME class of drug, then goes on VACATION. It's the smallest dose and I took a corner of a pill yesterday, no pill today, BP is fine, I'm in PAIN. My thumbs hurt, my right foot and left knee, I don't feel well and then I read that all of this are side effects of this drug.
Avatar m tn I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
Avatar n tn my friend just started taking trandolapril 1mg and Irbesartan its only been a couple days but she feels awful dizzy, heart palpatations, head ache and her blood pressure is still really high 190/110 should she just stick it out?
Avatar f tn Hi, My doctor has diagnosed a mild calcification of the aortic valve and mild to moderate aortic regurgitation. I also have mild hypertension which is controlled with Irbesartan. I'm 50 and don't seem to have any symptoms but what can I expect and what can I do to improve my condition.
Avatar m tn I have had this dry chest and cough for awhile, and it just seems to linger and might be getting worse.
Avatar f tn Drugs do not correct your underlying metabolic disorder which is too much fat and unhealthy foods and not enough exercise. these drugs are about control and not cure.
Avatar n tn Personally, I take valsartan, but my friends have experienced similar success (or better) with candesartan, telmisartan, losartan (although this drug is surmountable and thus theoretically not the best one to take), irbesartan, and, for ACE inhibitors, perindopril.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your helpful comments. How do I find if measurement is in excess of 3 standard deviations from the norm for specific BSA? By the way, patient is 48 years, female, and very petite. Do "dilation" and "aneurism" have roughly the same definition, meaning the ascending aorta at 40 X 41 mm is an "aneursim", basically synonymous with dilation? Can the ascending aorta measured at 4.2 cm, by virtue of it being above 3.
492329 tn?1290883385 I take Avalide 150/12.5 and Atenolol 50 mg, am/pm for Avalide and he did up my Atenolol to twice a day. He wants me to walk 30 mins a day and lose 25 lbs in 6 mos. However, my head aches the minute I more my ears ring to. He seems to think they are not connected. I'm really, really terrified! Oh and I had a heart cath in Oct 2008 all okay, but he did mention an S4 but said it would go away when the pressure comes down.
Avatar m tn Hello all, I have a quick question for you, I'll try to be brief. My backstory is as follows: Diagnosed with mild LVH and mild HBP which is under control with Irbesartan 75mg. I'm 23 years old, and I exercise and I'm losing weight currently. I try to follow a low sodium diet. My BP is controlled now. I also have stage 1 diastolic dysfunction due to the HBP and my aortic root is dilated mildly. Event monitor patch, stress test and ekgs normal.
Avatar n tn The medication prescribed to me is Avapro HCT 150mg/12.5mg (Irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) taken once daily (1 tablet) mainly to help ensure the blood pressure remains under 140 systolic, which is believed to help reduce the pressure on the aorta and root. I am booked in for a second opinion with another cardiologist next week mainly to re-assure myself and my wife (and kids) that things are chugging along okay.
Avatar f tn Studies have indeed show that high blood glucose may predispose to cancer and cancer cells primarily run on glucose. Views on this are diverse and while further studies may need to be done, it is still up to the patient to take this. Westernized approach of cancer has involved chemotherapy and medications while eastern medicine have been employing dietary approach in management of diseases for a long time. Discuss this with your doctors for proper management. Take care and best regards.
Avatar m tn I am afraid of the idea of having penile cancer but am only 18 and the last time I had sex was 3.5 months ago. I have have had a painless red rash around my urethra and part of the head of the penis for almost 2 months. I'm worried because STD tests came back negative so I'm wondering if it is HPV that has manifested it into a cancer?
Avatar f tn This is a forum on Ovarian Cancer, and as such, you will probably not find your answer here. You would probably have better luck if you asked your question in the Gynocology, Women's Health, or Pregnancy forums. Good luck to you.
435139 tn?1255460391 As you might already know, I had a mc in Dec. My cycles haven't regulated yet and I'm not 100% sure that I have ovulated each month (this month I didn't get a pos. opk...last month I did...my cm isn't coinciding with my fertility friend tempings that say I ov'd...etc.) SO my doctor had said to me in February that if my cycles weren't normal in a couple months that she could give me something to help me out with regularity and ov'ing...
Avatar f tn I could be mistaken - but I have looked the evidence over and talked with people here and the theory of RAI and cancer you talk about is reversed. I as an RAI patients back in 2003 was recently informed by an ENT that people that do have RAI - that develop nodules are at a higher risk on the nodule being carcimona. That is not very enlightening for me b/c they found I do have a solid nodule now. I am on Armour - no there is no blood. //// yuckie..... Graves speeds up your body.
Avatar f tn I think it would be best to google and get informed about sugar's effect upon cancer--as there are numerous and valid studies that are contrary to the doctor's response, here. my oncologist agrees that cancer indeed likes sugar and thrives on it. sugar also suppresses the immune system.. there are so many varied opinions--and each is subjective. you must go within to find the answer that is right for YOU--it's your body, your life.
194838 tn?1303428544 I don,t know if anybody has seen this before , a friend sent it to me it is about the findings of an Italian Oncologist in relation to his findings that cancer is a fungus and to treat it is very simple. I found it very interesting . Angihttp://www.know-the-cause.com/Shows/TullioSimonciniMDWithDougKaufmann/tabid/109/Default.aspx ALSO: www.cancerfungus.
Avatar n tn I feel pressure all the time too. Can anyone tell me if you have a high risk of getting cancer if you have had cysts and endo in past? Thanks!
Avatar f tn She refused, and saw another doctor who helped with treatments while pregnant. She got rid of the cancer and gave birth to my cousin! Today, my cousin is 18 years old and perfectly healthy! And technology has changed a lot since then! Hopefully your friend has just as good of doctors...so sorry she is going through this, I wish her the best! Cancer has hit my family hard in the past recent months, I know how hard it can be.
