s at max to almost hitting 600! So I finally decided to go on insulin. (yes i know its not a cure-all, but I knew it would help out while I try to get better.) I ended up getting humalog for fast-acting, and another for long lasting. This morning, I woke up with 470 as my number!!! So i took my dose of humalog and waited 45 minutes, checked again, and it was only down to 437. Took a BIGGER DOSE later, like a lot more units (25 I think?) waited 2 hours then checked again. and it went up to 457.
Another question from me:P, i have been reading around latley, and have found many differnt types of insulin,and insulin pumpsm etc. all with there pro's,and cons. If possible, could someone please explain to me the differnt types of insulin, and ways of managing diabeties, and the pros and cons of them.
The modern short acting insulin that is considered safe for pregnancy is Humalog (insulin lispro). The modern long acting insulin that is considered safe for pregnancy is levemir (insulin detemir).
You will need to do basal-bolus testing to determine your correct insulin dosages for each type of insulin.
You should also look into low carb eating (paleo style), which will help with managing blood sugar as well.

It takes some finessing, but many folks can get much better control using this regimen. It does require several shots a day, atleast 4 actually because the Lantus is taken separately. But the control is worth it. If you then able to learn Carbohydrate counting and really get this down to a science, yo can get very good control.
Hi, I had a mammogram Aug 27th which that the small node I have had for years has grown. Two days later I had an ultrasound that shows a hypoechoic structure deep within the chest wall and has a hyperechoic notch to it with an appeappearance of a benign lymph node but does not correlate with the position of the mammogram. Given the findings of this ultrasound and enlargemnt of the density on the mammogram biopsy is recommended. My question is would you take it out completely?
t know very much about the molecular structure. I find it a bit hard to understand, but I get pieces of it.

My LFT's stayed in the 60-80 range throughout tx. I was told that even though I was UND at 12 weeks tx, that my liver was still being assaulted by the meds - however good they would be for me in the long run - hence the elevation.. At 3 months post, I was still UND and my LFT's were down by almost half, but still elevated. My biopsy in 2009 showed cirrhosis AND fatty liver. In a similar post of mine recently, another member mentioned that the fatty liver could be the culprit.

The currently accepted treatment of choice is a basal (long-acting) insulin like Lantus once or twice a day and a bolus or rapid acting insulin before meals. A fixed dose of bolus like you describe is not as good as developing a carb ratio. You need to take the correct insulin dose each meal to cover what you eat (unless you want to eat the same thing every meal!).
I am 30 years old and I have had diabetes sense I was 5 years old and have recently moved to a new state and can not get insurance until July 1. I will currently need more insulin and I was wondering if there is any help with me having to purchase this on my own considering it is very expensive I had my doctor that I had before moving wirght me a perscription but I was just wondering if there was any help out there that I won't have to wait 45 days or find a doctor here first ?

Within the left ovary is a complex cystic structure measuring 4.4 x 4.8 x 4.5 cm. Some sepatation is present with half of the cystic structure having either dense internal debris or a somewhat solid component. No color flow is appreciated in this abnormal half of the cystic structure. No other mass or lesion or free fluid is present wihtin the left adnexa. This is a nonspecific finding and both benign and malignat etiologies must be considered.
i had a ct scan done the said in the left adnexa there is a structure with 2 cystic areas measuring 12 and 16 mm each and has enhancing perphery i have had a hysterectomy 4 yrs ago what does thids all mean it also states i have several diverticulae in sigmoid colon but no evidence of diverticlitis what does this mean please
