13495566 tn?1431029924 Does anybody have the package insert that comes with HARVONI- section 8.7 -says not proven to help cirrhosis. That is one of my denial reasons--I don't know if it says that. Trying to find out.
Avatar n tn s at max to almost hitting 600! So I finally decided to go on insulin. (yes i know its not a cure-all, but I knew it would help out while I try to get better.) I ended up getting humalog for fast-acting, and another for long lasting. This morning, I woke up with 470 as my number!!! So i took my dose of humalog and waited 45 minutes, checked again, and it was only down to 437. Took a BIGGER DOSE later, like a lot more units (25 I think?) waited 2 hours then checked again. and it went up to 457.
Avatar f tn Check storage guidelines specific to your insulin formulation [vile, pen, or cartridge] found usually on the product package insert. If you do not have the insert Google make and type for temperature ranges. Going below or above the specified ranges will lower the insulin's efficacy and, in most cases, render it useless. 3. Also look closely for the printed expiration date on the vile/pen/cartridge. It is not a good idea to inject outdated medication. If in doubt toss it.
Avatar n tn Another question from me:P, i have been reading around latley, and have found many differnt types of insulin, and insulin pumpsm etc. all with there pro's,and cons. Avatar n tn The modern short acting insulin that is considered safe for pregnancy is Humalog (insulin lispro). The modern long acting insulin that is considered safe for pregnancy is levemir (insulin detemir). You will need to do basal-bolus testing to determine your correct insulin dosages for each type of insulin. You should also look into low carb eating (paleo style), which will help with managing blood sugar as well.
Avatar f tn isophane insulin starts working after one to two hours and lasts 10 to 14 hours. Examples are Humulin I and Insulatard. * Long-acting insulin: these start working after one to two hours and last for up to 24 hours. Examples are insulin zinc suspension, protamine zinc insulin, and the insulin analogues insulin glargine and insulin detemir. The latter two insulins are now the most widely used long-acting insulins.
Avatar n tn My son, age 23 was diagnosed at 16. He uses an insulin pump and has noticed skin changes on the lateral sides of his abdomen where he inserts his sites. The areas are small and slightly lighter in color than his skin, they are flat or slightly raised, don't hurt and are not necessarily around the area of his current site. Two college health center doctors said they do not know what it is but they said it looks like the cholesterol deposits that people get around their eyes.
Avatar n tn I also read some information about insulin injections/side effects on MedicineNet.com and I expect their information is similar to what is on the package insert for your particular type of insulin. Do read the particulars of potential side effects for your specific insulins. Here is an excerpt: "...SIDE EFFECTS: Insulin may cause minor and usually temporary side effects such as rash, irritation or redness at the injection site. ...
Avatar n tn I even have a brother that is insulin dependent. I am wondering if I should get off this drug? Does the diabetes continue even after the drug is discontinued? Is there another antipsychotic I could take that does not have this side effect? Thank you so much for your time.
172023 tn?1334672284 within with it assures accuracy. Often that statement is included on the package insert for the strips and in the insert for the meter itself. As I recall, the range can be as high as 20%. Our home-use strips are terrific for us to know how we're doing in general, where a reading of 100 might not suggest a different course of action than a reading of 120.
1145751 tn?1262133453 Ok so I got these Prometrium capsules and it states on the package insert that these capsules are oral capsule. My OB's direction is to insert it vaginally as a suppository. Im concerned because the capsules outside gel is pretty thick. I just dont want to keep shoving these things in me and it not dissolve. Has anyone used oral capsules as suppository?
Avatar f tn All medications come with something called a 'package insert' which has labeling that includes any risks. Did you tell your doctor that you are expecting? I would just call the office to be safe and tell them you are pregnant and want to know if the antibiotic prescribed for you is safe during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn I do have the insert at home. It said if there were NO lines it was inconclusive, but nothing about a line in the circle and nothing in the oval. The way it reads, for it to be positive, there should be a line in each opening. I will be taking another one tonight, hoping it is more conclusive. thanx!
Avatar f tn Yes, I read the insert. So your saying that its accurate rite?
Avatar n tn They all come with a patient package insert that explains it. If your pack no longer has that insert, you can ask your pharmacist. Most require you to use them for 7 days before considering yourself safely protected.
Avatar n tn The best combination of insulins is a long acting basal like lantus, combined with meal-time dosing of a shorter acting insulin like Lispro or even Regular insulin. It takes some finessing, but many folks can get much better control using this regimen. It does require several shots a day, atleast 4 actually because the Lantus is taken separately. But the control is worth it. If you then able to learn Carbohydrate counting and really get this down to a science, yo can get very good control.
Avatar m tn These are not listed on the package insert, but I note from Dailymed.com Viread did cause fever in clinical trials (i.e., Truvada is a combo of Viread and Emtriva).
Avatar m tn I would look up the package insert online because they are all available online. That's what any doctor or pharmacist would be looking at if you asked them.
Avatar f tn Your chances are slim to none of being pregnant. Taking plan will cause disruptions in your cycle, it says skin the package insert. Taking it on top of all the other meds you're taking will surely disrupt your cycle even more. I wouldn't think twice about it. I'd be more concerned that the plan B messed with your thyroid levels or caused some issue with the effectiveness of your PCOS meds because that is much more likely.
Avatar n tn As far as the package insert, there is no indication that this would be in any way harmful to a fetus. I would not be concerned.
519736 tn?1253986826 thanx for your quick reply. I did have black coffee right before the test. I have hypothyroidism. It was a new Endo I saw last June that ordered the blood work. He did not inform me of the insulin of 109 until August. And he told me I was "becoming insulin resistant". My glucose was normal. I'm confused. Are insulin and blood sugar the same thing?
Avatar m tn I haven't used detartrine myself but according to the package insert, the 150 RDA does not erode enamel and there is no contraindication for use in sensitivity patients. The only contraindication is allergy to the material. Try using some sensitivity toothpaste to see if it helps.
Avatar f tn My understanding is that betapace or sotalol cannot be substituted for the AF version but the AF versioin can be subbed for the non AF version because the package insert does have everything that the AF package insert has plus the A-fib information
