Avatar f tn If you are taking pain reliever and have taken antibiotics and you are having a reoccuring fever of 99.9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.
Avatar f tn but the cat scan showed otherwise i have alot of prior cancer history and alot of bone pain and bruising...so it seems to me they missed something..is it likely? also when i was diagnosed a second tine in 2000 i was not treated with chemo therapy because of no health insurance..so, i would think i would be a greater risk.
Avatar n tn They are a steroidal injection into the effected area of the spine. The theory is that the steroids will reduce inflammation and swelling thus reducing the pain. Some ppl have found these to be an effective pain reliever while others have not. In my opinion much depends on the specific condition, the skill of the practitioner and how the a person's body reacts to the steroid. I hope this information has been helpful.

Avatar f tn Hi, I live in the UK and was wondering if anyone can help me with pain relief. I know you cant take ibroprufen, aspirin and are limited to paracetamol. I was told you should take anymore than 2-4 tablets a week. Im in alot of pain with my lower pain and keep getting back spasums im only 16wks but had the same with my first where I struggled to walk and every now and then it stops me in my tracks where I cant move. Ive tried warm baths and heated oats and it doesnt seem to be helping.
773646 tn?1239225659 I have MS, Fibromyalgia and Transverse Myelitis and have a constant buzzing and nerve pain in my hands and feet and pelvic area and for the nerve pain I highly recommend Lyrica as it works really well for me! Not only is it listed for nerve pain but for Fibromyalgia as well. From experience I can say the Lyrica will turn off the buzzing in the neck and spine in a short period of time. It doesn't work for everyone, but its been a lifesaver for me even at the minimal doses I take.
1735730 tn?1348952972 I went to a specialiast yesterday and the doc told me it may be beyond use for the rest of my life. I had an MRI today and will know the results in a couple days and yes they have done injections on area with little results so I will know in a couple days weather I will continue to have little use of the shoulder for rest of my life and thank you for your response.
Avatar f tn Ladies what pain relief are you planning on taking when your in labour and why.. please tell me im In early stages of labour very confused and scared. Your feed back will be great and much appreciated.
370181 tn?1595629445 t anymore. NSAID and DMARDS and cortisone injections and prednisone and metho injections and Remicade and Enbrel and Humira...........I've probably left something out, but you get the picture. The Enbrel worked quite well, but after 2 years I began getting some weird lab reports and while it was never conslusively connected to the Enbrel, I became wary of the biologics because I felt they just really didn't know enough about the long term effects, so I told my rheumo I was done.
Avatar f tn s my pain is somewhat mangable i mean i still have my really bad days that sometimes is so bad that the pain meds dont help and ive gotta go to the er and get a pain shot but it does help more so than not and he also has me On 15mg phentremines 2xday he said if thoe did not help with the fatigue than he was going to put me on adderal you should talk to your dr about pain management for you if it wasnt for the pain meds im on now i could not manage my day to day life the pains just to bad i also
Avatar m tn Most will do a CINE MRI this is to check if u have a CSF obstruction and overcrowding...and a MRI of the cervical spine, thoracic and lumbar spine this is to rule out a syrinx, and possible tethered cord, and ne disk issues.....they will do other testing as well to check for conditions with similar symptoms like lupus, MS, and lymes. Hashimotos thyroiditis, etc.... Chiari is a life altering condition...and u can live a "normal" life with some parameters...
1672915 tn?1335220598 Hi! Can anyone tell me if there is anything that helps nerve pain after surgery? I am 5 mnths post op and still have unbearable pain in my neck, left shoulder that sometimes go down my arm, low back and right hip pain. Last mnth I had Mri's done and my surgeon said they look good. I went and saw a pain Dr. and he put me on a muscle relaxer that's supposed to help but so far it hasn't. I am having more pain now then I did before surgery and I am becoming very depressed.
Avatar f tn My spouse has chronic back pain and found the best thing for him is massage therapy and chiropractic work. But it has to be the right healers or it does nothing or makes it worse. When the pain gets to him he takes a muscle relaxer only available by prescription. Yoga can help back pain. Start slow. Walking is the best exercise. Go as far and fast as is comfortable. Walk further every day. Medications mask the source of your pain.
Avatar m tn I just wanted to add that with the frequent urgency I feel I also have extreme pain and it radiates to my sides and lower back. Also sex is painful. I have been hospitalized for passing kidney stones twice and have ten stones in the left kidney and two in the right. The doctors tell me I should not be experiencing pain from them until they pass. It always feels like I am passing.
Avatar f tn You might also try massaging the area in circular motion from the left down and around and back up the right. It worked for me.
2194628 tn?1338537484 What I have done is to have a list of options in my mind starting from my preferred experience and pain relief all the way down to things I really dont want to do but am prepared for if necessary.
Avatar m tn You need to get a second opinion to see what can be done for you and if nothing can be done but treat then pain then you do need sufficient pain control and it does not sound like your getting it. I would be outraged if my Doctor accused me of being an addict just for trying to control the pain as would any one of us CP sufferers. Please do not give up, there is hope and once you do get some pain control to level out your pain you will be feeling much better. You have an awesome business/job!
Avatar n tn i had stage 2 at the age of 30 (just turned 30) and the removal of 25 nods from the right side. i am still experiencing extreme pain and hypo sensitivity under and on the back of my arm. That combined with the lack of 8 hours sleep over the past 7 years; needless to say are starting to affect my way of life.
Avatar f tn OK thanks. I did try it today and definitely helped with pain. I took half teaspoon it's so gross. I thought I was onto something natural and safe. Ok ditch that idea. I will stick with California poppy and vitamins amino acids. The pain is not fun as all of you know.
Avatar f tn was just wondering what type of pain relief everyone uses or plans on using during labour...
11473749 tn?1437899164 It gives you like a pleasant electric shock massage and distract s you from Labour pain. I had it on all the way through my 3rd Labour and unknowingly had it on medium setting, was trying to turn it up but only found out how after I had my baby. I did ask for an epidural in the end but my partner sent it away when I had my back turned.. If pain gets unbearable I'll be asking for an epidural I think. I've read the pethadin injection effects the baby so not too keen on that.
Avatar n tn If i work more than 8 hour or up for 8 hour , my leg starts hurting along with joint pain and nervousness and back pain. forgot I have high blood pressure now. what do i do. help please.
1554181 tn?1294328303 In a radiotherapy rizotomy , under general aneasthetic in theatre, needles are placed on both sides of the neck verteabra and radio frezuency sent through it to stun the nerves. this causes the pain measage to be stopped from reaching the brain and you then do not feel headaches. I am living headache free, even though I still have all the other symptoms. This combined with miztazarpine pill at night changed my life. Are anyone else on the same kind of treatment, Please comment. thanks.
Avatar n tn As you know Meloxicam (Common Brand Name, Mobic) and Ibuprofen are NSAIDs. Each can be effective in reducing pain and inflammation. As with all medications, their effectiveness often depends on an individual's reaction (metabolism). That being said I have found some research on the two which actually indicates that Ibuprofen is lightly more effective for most ppl. There may be conflicting research/studies - I can't locate it.
