t want to put her on hydrochlorothiazide(diuretic) is that it would decrease urine calcium but increase blood calcium. The pediatric nephrologist she had when she was younger had her on the hydrochlorothiazide. This is all very complex! So probably a good idea to see all the different specialists first before deciding on a coarse of action.
Has anyone been successful using natural remedies such as lemon juice and apple cider vinegar in lowering urine calcium and uric acid levels? After several episodes of gross hematuria it was determined that I have bilateral stones. A 24 hr urine test showed elevated calcium and uric acid. I was placed on potassium citrate and hydrochlorothiazide but the medicines have horrific side effects.
Maybe a UTI? I got orangish urine with a UTI, also urine will get REALLY darkish yellow, almost orange if you're dehydrated. Hope you get answers soon and good luck!!!
So today i noticed my pee was weird looking i'm used to it being darker since I've been pregnant but now its not even that. When I'm wiping i tend to look before i flush in case of blood or anything well today an maybe yesterday I've been wiping an seeing orange an it's starting to worry me if any of you might know if I'm okay or if i should call the emergency room that would be helpfull.
I have what appears to be a blister-like area on the too of my penis at the base of the head and into the shaft.
It is itchy and was previously sore, slightly swollen (has subsided) and slightly opaque.
There is no discharge from that site nor my penis; I am having no trouble urinating and there is no blood or discoloration of my urine except being more yellowish (meaning I'm not drinking enough water).

I had a complete blood panel done, including liver enzymes, total bilirubin, albumin, alt, ast, gamma gt, something hydrogenase, etc... The whole 9 yards. Everything came up perfect BUT in my urinanalysis, they found a "little bit" of bilirubin. Everything else about the urine is perfect.
I saw my doctor yesterday, and he assures me that considering that all the blood tests are perfect, there is nothing to worry about and that I am FINE.

Normally urine is colorless or pale yellow in color. If you are having dark yellow to orange urine, then it can be due to many causes. It can be due to dehydration and less intake of fluids, hematuria (blood in urine), biliary tract obstruction, hemolytic anemia, liver diseases such as hepatitis and taking of some medications.
If the darkness of urine remains even after increasing your fluid intake, then these causes need to be investigated.
if it only happens once in a while , and the tests are clear here is something I found and copied you may want to ask the Doctor about Orange colour urine could be due to a variety of causes. The commonest is due to some food colours such as phenophthalein, beet etc. It could also be due to drugs such as Rifampicin, multivitamins etc. Finally, it could just be a concentrated urine where due to poor water intake, the urine concentrates and becomes yellow or dark orange in colour.
My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic.
I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007.
Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be.
Will HCTZ lose its effectiveness after a certain number of years?
Anyone know the answer or having similar experience, please let me know.

I AM TAKING HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 25MG. I HAVE BEEN TAKEN THEM FOR 3 YRS NOW. THIS MEDICATION JUST STOP WORKING. MY DOCTOR WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER MEDICATION FOR ME TO TAKE. DOES THIS EVER GET BETTER. STAYS THE SAME OR DO THE MEDICATION YOU ARE TAKE ALWAYS GET ADJUSTED. UNTIL YOU ARE TAKEN 10 DIFFERENT MEDICATION.

I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension?

My husband is only 38, he had a stroke last year he had a stent put in, now he is on plavix, atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg, last week his doc added niacin 500 mg, simvastatin 20, flexeril and tramadol, also his one aspirin each day, these are just so many meds, are they safe?
