Avatar f tn It is not known whether lisinopril is excreted in breast milk. SIDE EFFECTS: First doses of lisinopril can cause dizziness due to a drop in blood pressure. Lisinopril can cause nausea, headaches, anxiety, insomnia, drowsiness, nasal congestion and sexual dysfunction. Lisinopril should be stopped if there are symptoms or signs of an allergic reaction including feelings of swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) and hives occasionally occur.
Avatar m tn In a pharmacokinetic study, administration of a single 8 mg dose of silodosin with the potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole (400 mg) resulted in a 3.8-fold increase in silodosin peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and a 3.2-fold increase in systemic exposure (AUC).
Avatar n tn I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007. Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be. Will HCTZ lose its effectiveness after a certain number of years? Anyone know the answer or having similar experience, please let me know. Thank You In Advance For Your Reply.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?

280234 tn?1532986249 Hello, Labetalol is the beta blocker of choice in pregnancy. Other BP meds safe to use during pregnancy include Methyldopa, Nifedipine and in some cases Hydrochlorothiazide. You can talk to your obstetrician about these options. Additionally, you should talk with your obstetrician about the risks of developing pre-eclampsia (toxemia), placental complications (e.g., abruption), preterm birth and fetal growth restriction as a result of having pre-existing hypertension. Best regards, Dr.
Avatar f tn I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Its constantly waking him up in the middle of the night because he shoulder will start hurting and his hand go numb. He was saying that a friend of his had the same problems but it was from lacquer thinner poisoning. Im just wondering if maybe there is another problem or not.His left arm is just fine. Im wondering if its a pinched nerve, a bad disk or what.
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar f tn I am so confused because I have too many issues that can cause the same symptoms. Recently, my doctor switched me from Valsartan HCTZ to Hydrochlorothiazide plus regular Valsartan for my blood pressure. When I first started it, right away I was having rapid heart beat and shortness of breath so he told me take potassium supplements. That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium.
Avatar f tn So, I just figured the Hydrochlorothiazide must not have sulfa in it for him to give it to me. But I found out that IT DID have sulfa in it! The pharmacist told me that, when I called to explain what I was experiencing. As soon as I told him what was happening, he asked me if I was allergic to sulfa? I told him I had thought that I was, based on my reaction to the other pill. So he told me to stop taking it.
1668318 tn?1306416764 Hi weighing yourself and getting on a diuretic is not testing you. Did she run tests? Do you know??
Avatar m tn I am a U.S. Veteran. On March 17, 2011 I started treatment for Hep c in a clinical trial study sponsored by Roche through the Bronx, NY VA Hospital. At the baseline treatment on March 17, 2011 they initially took blood samples. The clinical trial doctor told me that my viral load for the March 17, 2011 blood samples was 27,000,000. Prior to that my previous lab tests viral load was 5,160,000 on February 17, 2011.
Avatar f tn I tried benicar and lisinopril and caused sinus drainage - however, they worked Then tried hydrochlorothiazide which cause major constipation .... Now on amlopidine beselate and coreq cr and have fatigue....seems the latter meds are overkill as I had only one coronary stent over 10 hrs ago and cardiologist a few weeks ago said my heart is fine.
1243333 tn?1296446902 I have extensive CAD with mutiplable stent placement in the past 22 months, and have high blood pressure (Usally 180/110 And higher), what effect does the high blood pressure have on CAD and angina. I am on bp meds. (norvasc, imdur, toprol XL, spirolactone, valturna, cattapress tts, iron, dexilant & carfate).
Avatar n tn will drinking grapefruit juice interfere with hydrochlorothiazide or any other medication
Avatar f tn Diagnosed recently with high blood pressure. New med Hydrochlorothiazide for 2 weeks. Now my upper gum & roof of mouth are red, swollen, and painful. This is not a listed side affect. What's wrong?
Avatar f tn Your medications generally do not cause diabetes. The hydrochlorothiazide in Dyazide can increase blood sugar levels in diabetics. Other risk factors for diabetes include advancing age, body weight and lack of exercise. If not already doing so, try some lifestyle modifications such as exercising regularly, eating few carbohydrates and sugars, and avoid smoking.
Avatar n tn My mom is 83 and is on atenolol 50 Mg in AM and 25 at bedtime. She is also on risperdol, remeron, xanax. She is extremely fatigued. How would one taper the atenolol dose and how safe is it. Her blood presure yesterday was 102/48 which is too low.
Avatar n tn Can this be artificially high because of medications taken for other problems i.e. high blood pressure (5mg Norvasc, 12.5mg Hydrochlorothiazide, .1mg clonodine 2x daily), hormone replacement (premarin 1.25), anit-depressant (150xl Wellbutrin), sleep-aid (Ambien) and Prevacid?
478554 tn?1208034407 Hydrochlorothiazide, abbreviated HCTZ, HCT, or HZT, is a first line diuretic drug of the thiazide class that acts by inhibiting the kidneys' ability to retain water. This reduces the volume of the blood, decreasing blood return to the heart and thus cardiac output and, by other mechanisms, is believed to lower peripheral vascular resistance.
Avatar f tn ve been struggling with kidney stones for over a year. Urologist did a 24 hr. urine collection which showed hypercalcemia (elevated calcium in blood) and extreme hypercalciuria (elevated calcium in urine). She though it pointed to hyperparathyroidism. Tests for that have been inconclusive so the endocrinologist and ENT doc think maybe I should see a nephrologist to see if the MSK could be a factor before I have surgery for a parathyroid adenoma that might not exist.
