Avatar m tn t have problems with heart rate (usually between 70 and 80 during the day and around 60 in the morning) before taking beta blocker I usually had quite high HR (approximately 90) I'm writing all this because it seems that I started to suffer from "Erectile Dysfunction"or at least everything seems to be pretty much different than before. Behavior has been changing during period of taking drug.
Avatar n tn I was just wondering if there can be drug interactions between the Ativan and Bisoprolol? I have quite low blood pressure and heart rate, and wouldn't want them going much lower... Thanks so much for any information...
369994 tn?1225733799 I was on Hydrochlorothiazide about 4-5 months and it was working to keep my blood pressure down and then all of a sudden started breaking out in red raised welts. I went to dermatologist and he said it was a reaction to the hydrochlorothiazide and to stop taking it. I stopped and within two days it started to clear up. My primary care doctor then put me on Bisoprolol and I started getting hives 100 times worse! I have had them ever since, even though I stopped taking the medicine!
1398693 tn?1343684738 Thank you so much for the information I knew that there are medications that didn't deplete potassium but I couldn't find which ones. right now I'm taking hydrochlorothiazide and Lisinopril and when I started to take the hydrochlorothiazide I kept ending up in the hospital because my potassium level kept dropping mainly because I have had some problems with diarrhea so no matter how much potassium rich foods I hate I couldn't keep my potassium level any higher than 3.
Avatar f tn He was on Bisoprolol for a considerable amount of time before any symptoms began, so I would doubt if this is the issue, especially as tests have revealed no heart issues. 1.25mg is a low dose but on the other hand bisoprolol is a powerful beta blocker. I was on 1.25mg for years and had no issues except when they recommended I increase to 5mg and then my heart rate dropped to mid 20's. I did find that bisoprolol did very little for blood pressure, I had to take Ramipril on top for that.
Avatar n tn , but before using it I take a beta blocker bisoprolol 5 as my treatment after angioplasty. Do you recommend not to take the bisoprolol BEFORE the exercise, or it does not matter ?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007. Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be. Will HCTZ lose its effectiveness after a certain number of years? Anyone know the answer or having similar experience, please let me know. Thank You In Advance For Your Reply.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar m tn I AM TAKING HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE 25MG. I HAVE BEEN TAKEN THEM FOR 3 YRS NOW. THIS MEDICATION JUST STOP WORKING. MY DOCTOR WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER MEDICATION FOR ME TO TAKE. DOES THIS EVER GET BETTER. STAYS THE SAME OR DO THE MEDICATION YOU ARE TAKE ALWAYS GET ADJUSTED. UNTIL YOU ARE TAKEN 10 DIFFERENT MEDICATION. This discussion is related to blood presure medication.
Avatar n tn There are no risks in taking bisoprolol (zebeta) through surgery. In fact, there are many patients that we recommend beta-blockers for prior to surgery. We usually just make sure they have been started on the medication at least 1 week before the surgery which you clearly have been on it for awhile which is a good thing. We just don't want your blood pressure or heart rate to be too low going into surgery.
Avatar f tn I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.
1900997 tn?1321659956 ve been taking 40 mg a day for ten years. One year after that, I had to start taking bisoprolol, enalapril and the diuretic hydrochlorothiazide for high blood pressure (back then it was 200/110, but it's perfectly under control now). From then on, I had regular ECGs (at least once every 2 years), but none of them ever showed anything wrong.
351404 tn?1299489130 My changed regime has been for a week now. However, the bisoprolol is making me feel so fatigued and depressed and my eyes want to shut all the time. As it is such early days, is there an alternative to this drug and should I present myself demanding an alternative, or is this my lot from now on?
Avatar m tn But the doc assured that nothing would happen but I am too scared to take an initial dose of 5mg Bisoprolol straightaway....Want all you peoples help in this regard and advice me whether I could go ahead with Bisoprolol 5mg without any fear....Thanks in advance...
Avatar f tn I know that there are a lot of different beta blockers on the market. CONCOR is Bisoprolol and that is what I would suggest and thus agree with what ED34 suggested. You have to find the meds that works best for you and it sometimes takes a few weeks/months to really know if something is working for you, or not. I started on 2,5mg Concor but was already hypotensive and it just made it worse. At the end I went with Sotalol and Florinef that picked up my BP.
Avatar f tn This is a follow up to my April 23 posting concerning my severe sweating. Since my doc does not think my problem is thyroid based, I decided to try a different approach. On May 12, I stopped taking HCTZ. I had read that some had had problems with HCTZ and sweating. Gradually, I seemed to have less sweating. Also, the feeling of being hot most of the time seemed to lessen. It is summer, and I do get hot, but others are hot, also. When I do sweat, it seems like a more normal sweat.
Avatar m tn ve been trying to ween off the bisoprolol and was doing so successfully. I got down to about .75mg of bisoprolol and was doing great. I was exercising, and my heart was responding great. My blood pressure was 110/70 and I was having few pvc's etc. Well my dad recently required surgery and the stress got to me and I had a pretty big panic attack. Because of this I went back to my 1.25 mg of bisoprolol.
Avatar n tn I am 68 and taking 1.25mg Bisoprolol for high blood pressure and can't increase because of low pulse rate. I was also taking Ramipril but developed the terrible cough. My doctor agreed to me trying without this for a month. Two weeks in my BP is mostly between 125/67 and 159/75. The problem is that it does sometimes go higher and when it gets to upper 160s I get irregular heartbeat. I take garlic and Co enzyme Q10. What is the solution?
Avatar m tn Hello, I was having the numbness and tingling while taking hydrochlorothiazide. I would stop taking it and the numbness/tingle would go away, take it again, and it would come right back. Not sure if he is taking hydrochlorothiazide. They had me on it for edema. I have swelling in my hands and ankles, all tests neg except for CMV. Battling this since April 2008. Hands so swollen, can't open bottles, hold a pen, hold a phone or peel the label off the top of yogurts..ect..
Avatar f tn Hi i read your post and yes...........bisoprolol is a beta blocker that relaxes the heart and pretty much blocks the adrenaline that runs thru it which cases a fast or irregular heart beat. It is also great for your blood pressure. I wouldn't be doubting the doc if i were you....i would listen to them if you trust them to know what they are doing...i would give it a shot Yvonne......with everything that you have gone thru this may be the answer for you...
Avatar n tn However, this could also be due to some medications such as the combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide that is used to treat high blood pressure. Lisinopril is in a group of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) while Hydrochlorothiazide is in a class of diuretics. Tingling in the hands and feet along with dizziness, headache and cough are some of the effects that are observed in this drug combination.
Avatar f tn My problem is that i get these times that either i go to sleep and the doctors not been able to wake me up the next morn and im unresponsive to pain and verbal stimuli ie scoring gcs of 3. My observations are ok but i can be bought round with oxygen too. Has anyone had this? Ive seen one instance but in canada where its been reported. My seizures increased so they have upped clobazam to 3pmg a day Im just worried as live on my own.
Avatar n tn I visited many doctors and had various checks and echos and analysis and was told that I am ok and was advised not to take alternative medicines! I would be grateful to anyone advising me as the doctors I have access to seem to be too busy to consider my 'special' case, they wouldn't even answer why I am given ConcorCor which is said to counter hyper blood pressure while my blood presssure has always been lower than average.
