Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar f tn m thinking of trying has added C, too, and Magnesium. Not worried about the Bromelain - I eat tons of pineapple, anyway, and it definitely helps me with my meals. I guess it makes sense that steroids doses could be affected by Quercetin use, just due to the decreased inflammation in the body, but I didn't understand why Quercetin would actually cause a change in metabolism...hmm. Thanks again!
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar n tn These reduce pain and swelling, if you take enough (1000 mg of quercetin, 300 mg bromelain is good for me). Fresh pineapple is good too (bromelain is pineapple enzyme). Try 1000 mg of Lysine with this.
Avatar m tn Can somebody from the old school on this hep.
Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar m tn This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions: 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery.
Avatar f tn I tried it a few days ago and guess what, still pregnant! All it did was make my mouth hurt from all the acid. I literally sat and ate an entire fresh pineapple. There's supposed to be something in it that acts just like semen to thin your cervix but it'll only work if baby is ready to come. Some people swear by it but it didn't help me. I've also tried bouncing on a ball and evening primrose oil. Nothing has helped. Good luck though!
Avatar n tn Check into MSM, along with the glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. No chondroitin?
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if anyone knows if an allergy or sensitivity to red dye 40 could cause acid reflux. I have year round pollen allergies as well as dog allergy and moderate to severe asthma. The reflux triggers my asthma and I end up in a bad flare. Thank you.
Avatar m tn After a couple of ACL surgeries over the years due to sports injuries and regular knee pain ever since when exercising, descending stairs etc., I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since.
Avatar m tn ve had my eyes dialated twice and in both cases (one with an optometrist and one with a opthamologist) I was told everything looked fine and that my floaters was due to aging as well. The MD did a very thorough examThe reason I made the connection was that hyaluronic acid seems to be involved in both cases so I was curious if there is a connection. If you don't mind me asking, why would joint inflammation be a cause of concerns for floaters...?

Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar m tn You may want to try eye drops with a higher amounts of hyaluronic acid which acts as a lubricant. Here is an article which has some information on brands that have higher amounts of it. https://www.drmikeng.com/new-blog/2020/3/4/comparing-preservative-free-eye-drop-products-in-canada Some put a drop on the contact before putting it in your eye.

Avatar n tn I would appreciate any advice...am 29 year old athletic female, had knee pain that got progressively worse (now am hobbling around) and was diagnosed with patellar tendonitis. After a month of it not going away and severe pain, had an MRI that showed Grade IV chondromalacia. The doctor told me that surgery is not an option and just to take pain meds and go to physical therapy.
Avatar n tn Not much a doctor can do - x rays - no treatment except pain meds. You might try getting some MSM and Hyaluronic acid from the health food store. Only thing that can heal cartilage. Don't horse around like that anymore. If your rib broke just messing around - think what could happen next time!! Take care of yourself. - Also take some vitamins to build your bones and body. Good health to you...
