Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?

I've been diagnosed with RA since 2006. On Methotrexate 20mg, Humira, and folic acid. In last 24 months I've had 3 bouts of pancreatitis (twice after gall bladder removal) with no cause determined gastro doc, and chronic burning sensation in legs, buttocks and lower back. (Similar to feeling of frostbite) Sensation increases as day progresses and greater sensitivity on sitting or clothes binding in areas.
I am having a hard time getting information. I have Chron's disease and had sugery August 2nd 2011 for small intestine obstruction. 10 days post surgery I was back in surgery with a massive inflammation blockage. This is first time something like that has happened to me since I had 3 prior surgeries. The only difference is that I am taking Humira for past 5 months and was told not to take the injection before surgery.
My BD has been maintained by Humira 40Mg weekly and Imuran 200Mg daily for over a year. Prior to that Humira was bi-weekly for about 8 months and Enbrel was used for about 8 months prior to it. All in combination with Imuran 150Mg or 200Mg. During this time I have had uveitis (lasted for about 4 months) followed by gastritis (8 months), followed by strep throat leading to chronic tonsilitis and re-occuring bronchitis flares for 6 months that triggered asthma and now back to uveitis...
I had my gallbladder out two years ago and felt awesome since even went down in humira dosage. My husband and I had issues getting pregnant so we did IVF and sure enough it worked! Got positive confirmation in July 2013 and stopped humira that month. Symptoms started August 23 2013. It started off like acid reflux which they said was normal due to pregnancy take lots of tums and GI doc put me on extra strength omperzole. I got no relief!!
Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.
Both are supposed to do the same thing in the body. The only difference is Remicade is a made-protien where as the Humira is a human protien. With Humira you give yourself a shot every other week.
So far, after using both, I prefer the Remicade. I didn't mind the treatments as much as I do the Humira even though the Humira is more convienient (I hate having to give myself a shot.
Hi, I also have AS, diagnosed in 2007 and have taken both Enbrel and Humira. Neither did the trick for me. Enbrel did nothing Humira gave minimal relief, it did help with my eye symptoms. I have also been on celebrex and several other medications. I was unable to get much relief with any of them, my lower back and hip would just kill me. About 9 months ago I completely stopped taking everything because they just werent helping and I just felt terrible.
t come off the Prenisolone yet. My Prednisolone dosage is being reduced every few weeks or so waiting until the Imuran kicks in but i've recently developed unbelievably acne on my face. Even when I was a teenager I never really had acne problems and have had almost completely clear skin since I was about 14. I wash my face with a gentle cleanser every day and make sure I moisturise daily. My doctor has told me that the Prednisolone is causing the acne, but he's a bit vague.

My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.
I just started Humira (2 shots so far) and have had a worsening of symptoms since the first shot. My hands/feet have become swollen and my joints hurt more than before I started taking the Humira. I also have systemic vasculitis (Churg-Strauss Syndrome) and am on Cytoxan and Prednisone, but I have been taking both for more than a year and know the side-effects from each.
I also have suffered from psoriasis most of my life.I stopped taking Humira back in September but did take one shot around the end of March. I was also on prednisone the entire month of march. Should my test results make me feel any better or do they mean nothing at this point.
