During this time I have had uveitis (lasted for about 4 months) followed by gastritis (8 months), followed by strep throat leading to chronic tonsilitis and re-occuring bronchitis flares for 6 months that triggered asthma and now back to uveitis... Additional meds have been added to treat this, Pred Forte and Prednisone taper (uveitis), Prilosec and various other pump blockers (gastritis), 20days amoxicillin (strep) 10 weeks on amoxicillin (bronchitis), singulair and dulera for asthma.
I also had burning sensations in my fingertips, and buzzing in my fingertips, along with recurrent uveitis. I was MRIed twice. The first time I had 1 lesion, and the second (one month later) there were 3 more lesions. I was taken off the drug and I didn't have any symptoms. My MRIs remained clear for two years.
Now I have the same tingling and numbness mostly on my left, but on my right as well.
I have been seeing by an ophthalmologist for nearly 8 years now. I have iritis (my doctor also refers to it as "uveitis), and I have continually been taking multiple types of eye drops every single day since it started. The main one is Pred Forte. Because of being on so many kinds of eyedrops and having an eye surgery a few years back, my left upper eyelid is very swollen. I can no longer take a decent picture.
statistically 1 out of every 2-3 of us has hsv1 and 1 out of every 4-5 has hsv2 - a lot of folks who take humira, are already going to have herpes whether they know it or not! Of course you also can contract herpes simplex, either orally or genitally, while taking humira too.
It also can cause shingles to occur - you'd have to have had chicken pox in the past before starting humira in order to have a shingles reactivation.
Thank you so much for your response. I was told that both uveitis and shingles can be brought on by stress in the body. I was hoping that if there were diseases that could cause both I might be able to narrow the list as I don't seem to be getting a lot of assistance on this end. I will definitely look for a uveitis specialist - thank you!!
13 years ago I was diagnosed with genital herpes which I contracted from my now ex. I married 8 years ago to a good man with a bad case of Psoriasis. About 6 months ago he was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis after having his hands and body start crippling his abailities in daily living, and began taking Humira as treatment. Recently he has decided that we can no longer be intimate and we need to separate.
There are enough other sites and posts of the same complaint and also in the first 6 months on Humira. It was about my 3rd injection I think when I started having tooth pain in my upper front teeth. Within a couple of days, my bottom front teeth stated hurting. I skipped a week of Humira under Dr advice incase I was fighting a sinus infection. Symptoms got better. Then I started back on my Humira last night and my teeth are killing me again.
I have relapsed ovarian cancer and I've had my 2nd treatment of Doxil. I also have uveitis from ankylosing spondylitis. I've lost the vision in my left eye and I take Methotrexate to keep the uveitis in remission.
For about a week now, I've noticed some pain in the left eye, and I'm wondering if it may be caused by Doxil.
Any help would be much appreciated.
The doc immediately took me off humira and my symptoms started to subside, though it took awhile for them to go away completely.
At that point, my neuro said it that the humira induced MS or MS-like symptoms. He wasn't sure if it was full-blown MS or just drug-induced MS that would resolve itself when I stopped taking the drug. The doc gave me 3 follow-up MRIs, all of which showed no new lesions, but the spots they found were still there.
I have been treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Humira for 7 months including a combination of Humira and methotrexate for the past 2 months. I also take 5mg of prednisone, and 6 Azulfadine tablets each day. I was taking Humira once every fourteen days and I am on 15mg of methotrexate a week. About a month ago, I started experiencing numbness in my toes and feet. I mentioned it to my rheumatologist but she wasn't concerned and simply told me it wasn't rheumatoid arthritis.

I am going to be getting cataract surgery soon (which developed from a retinal insert) and have a condition known as uveitis... They have told me that a "monofocal lens" is the best way to go because my eye is "going to go through a lot of changes" and "in case anything bad happens"... I don't know what this means...
Please doctors tell me is there any connection between increasing floaters and diseases like: CRP, ACE, ANA, ANCA, Herpes Simplex, Zoster, EBV Virus, Sarcoidosis, Amiloidosis. My eye doctor is suggestion to make these entire tests because my floaters are increasing every day. What is your suggestion about this?
At first Humira worked completely, but for the last 3 month I now have got again explosive Diarrhoea and bleeding. I spent a minimum of 10 times running to the toilet a day, and get anxious going out and that causes stress and then more flare ups.
I had a SeHCAT Scan for suspected bile acid malabsorption which I have not got and is not my cause for my Diarrhoea.
I also take 60mg and 16mg Loperamide a day but Diarrhoea will not stop, only with Prednisolone Steroids.
I am HLA B27+ and have other auto immune issues as well. (takayasu arteritis and reactive arthritis). I have only had UVeitis in my right eye and developed a cataract in my eye fairly quickly from steroid drops, steroid injections and oral steroids through out the years.. My vision pre-uveitis (since it became chronic in 2008) was excellent. I am nearsighted but was able to see distance very well too.
Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?
